Voix_de_la_Mer | Horrendous. This is what happens when you rush through a vaccine without testing it properly because the economy is more important than lives The Corona Party strikes again. ------------------ Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant - Robert Louis Stevenson |
Belage | The issue is that for ethical reasons, no pregnant women were among the participants of the trials for the vaccines, so the effects on pregnant women and developping fetuses are not known. Therefore pregnant women should not take the vaccine since scientific data cannot tell us anything about the way it will affect them. It should be common sense precaution. Though they may consider taking it after they give birth. |
Voix_de_la_Mer | @Belage You are right. They should not have been vaccinated until after birth. But those women could still spread the virus and the virus costs money. More money than life apparently. ------------------ Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant - Robert Louis Stevenson |
Belage | Voix, I am not sure I understand what you are trying to say... |
shura | Cost benefit ratio on this one is so bad I cant fathom a lucid woman taking the risk. |

They vaccinated everyone unethically because the vaccines have not completed their trials. It is being rushed through to speed up opening the economy. Putting money above life. Money which is no more than digits on a big computer. Money that 'exists' before it's even printed. Sorry if I'm not making sense, I'm really disillusioned right now TBH. ------------------ Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant - Robert Louis Stevenson |

It makes perfect sense to me. Actually, I just got back from the recycling center, where I overheard three people in their sixties talking about the vaccine. Their verdict? “No one should be able to tell you you can’t, and no one should be able to tell you you have to. This is America!” If only it were that simple, right? |

Ok, I see what you mean. Thanks for clarifying. |
Randall | The media-hyped fear motivated them to take the vaccine. They should have been warned prior to taking it, which the law requires, but I doubt many would have taken a vaccine if told it has not been proven safe for their baby. |
jwhop | "This is what happens when you rush through a vaccine without testing it properly because the economy is more important than lives" Are you actually attempting to say the vaccines Trump pushed pharmaceutical companies to research, test and manufacture in record time won't save lives? How many additional deaths from covid 19 were you prepared to permit while pharmaceutical companies went through a 4-5 year research and testing procedure? |
Randall | Are you blaming Biden then, teasel, for his rush to vaccinate people? |

Strawman arguments Jwhop. Are you actually capable of adult discussion? You're so defensive about Trump you aren't really equipped to hold a discussion with most of the world, as most of his supporters are American. I think I'll bear this in mind before I waste time responding to you from Scotland in the future. What I will say is that I don't live in a Trump-centred world. I am speaking about worldwide vaccination. 2 years usually suffices for safety testing, therefore 1 more year could have made it safer. ------------------ Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant - Robert Louis Stevenson

What? I wasn’t in this thread. No, I don’t recall Biden telling pregnant women to rush out and get vaccinated. I do recall grump mocking Biden for being vaccinated, and telling his supporters to rush out and get vaccinated. So it’s okay that grump demanded a rush on vaccines, but it’s Biden’s fault for making sure that we actually have access to them? Grump decided that human lives weren’t as important as the economy. He encouraged people to not be scared by a virus that could kill them. Stop dragging my name up in threads that I haven’t even seen, Randall. You are shameless when it comes to grump, and anything that he’s responsible for. I don’t want to hear it. |

teasel | I googled, and didn’t find anything. I don’t trust your source. I do think that people should be careful, and I’m not one to rush out and get the flu shot, so I didn’t rush to get vaccinated for this, because I’m always at home. |

Nobody is being told that they have to get it. |

I don’t understand why pregnant women were getting vaccinated, but we were also told that lockdowns, and any covid restrictions were unethical. Republicans didn’t want to give people (like these pregnant women), $2000 a month to be free to stay home. To be able to pay their bills, and buy food. |
Chanterelle | quote: Originally posted by teasel: Nobody is being told that they have to get it.
I know, I’m just saying, when it comes to public health issues it’s more complicated than “everyone is free to do what they want.” I don’t need to know that masks are effective in order to wear one, I’m happy to just do it because it makes other people more comfortable— but applying that same line of thinking to a vaccination is a step too far, I think. It’s not unreasonable for people to worry that at some point they won’t be able to keep their jobs or send their children to school if they choose not to vaccinate, any more than it’s unreasonable for higher-risk individuals to demand acknowledgment that other people’s choices have an impact too. |
Randall | If anyone should get vaccinated, it’s you, teasel. I have never seen such fear. President Trump never mocked anyone over vaccinations, except for Biden. We wouldn’t have them if not for Trump. Biden said that there were no vaccines. What an idiot. Not only were we already vaccinating a million people a day, but Biden had already taken both doses himself. That is worthy of mocking. And it was President Trump who came up with the $2,000 number. You must truly live in a media blackout. |

I understand you only trust certain media like CNN and NYT... I have been reading Epoch Times since August of last year, and every story they have printed has been true, and if it has not, they have printed a retraction. You might want to put yourself through a challenge or experiment of reading Epoch Time, compare the material with what you read on CNN and NYT, do that for about 2 or 3 months, and see down the line, which stories turned out to be true and which paper is witholding information. The NYT is only recently getting to the story of Cuomo and nursing home patients, but that information has been around for a lot longer, but CNN and NYT ignored it all along. |

I’m trying to find something, and found this. Democrats agreed with the $2000, but republicans didn’t. Dems wanted people to get $2000 a month, to stay home and safe. My dad was an “essential worker” but wasn’t paid like he was essential. He has no sick pay. He told me that he got vaccinated, because he’s out there every day. All through the pandemic. He still uses bleach spray and hand wipes at the gas station, and he was doing that before it was recommended, after one big spreader was found to be gas pumps. But I am sure that he would be happy to hear that you told his daughter that she should be vaccinated, because you think that it’s dangerous. |
Randall | Are you pregnant? If not, then your logic is flawed, as always. And wiping down surfaces is a complete waste of time. You think you should be paid $2,000 a month so everyone can be safe? The stupidity of that speaks for itself. |
