T O P I C R E V I E WTwirlHi I have been eyeing the superfood department in the organic supermarket for quite some time. They have all these mixtures & powders there to make smoothies. Just looking at it makes me feel super healthy already, lol. It's really expensive though, but I want to start giving it a go. Does anyone know a good site or preferably a book with easy recipes? And also in it what those goijs, special nuts, wheatgrass powder and such are for? Anyone makes these at home? How does it affect you?Love to hear. Thanks NoRainNoRainbowsGood for you on finding interest in this Goji Berries all over the place...but the only super food i'm aware of is the Acai berry (knowing where i'm partly from had to check what those neighbors 'upstairs') go on about. The few times i tried it it was just 'Açaí' berries mixed with organic apple juice. i felt 'healthy' if you can feel that way after it. both on a mental and emotional and physical level.this for goji berries http://www.webmd.com/balance/goji-berries-health-benefits-and-side-effects and these for Açaí berries http://www.doctoroz.com/blog/lindsey-duncan-nd-cn/so-whats-so-good-about-acai-whole-lot i have a friend of your star sign that is so into these things, and there is some asian tea that is all the rage in her world right now, will find her and ask her more about it!for wheat grass, quite a few people here drink it, i only tried it once ....and didn't feel like trying it again at all lol!good luck on this new health adventure VioletsI'm sorry, I don't know much about superfoods, per say...but I do know that I found a recipe for a beet elixir that is both delicious and supposed to cleanse/detoxify/support immune system, etc.I'll try to find the link to it, but in the meantime we just pick some beets in the garden, throw in some cucumber, peach, or other sweet fruit, carrot, lemon balm, and oregano. I know it sounds odd, but it does feel incredibly good to drink (and it's tasty).I sort of wing it with whatever we have in the garden, lol.But oregano is very good, as well as lemon balm, and very easy to come by. Oregano has anti-bacterial/fungal properties/healing properties, and tons of nutrients, oddly. And it seems to taste good in almost anything, which I wouldn't have guessed. Lemon balm is supposed to be calming to the nerves, and it also tastes kind of good.Beets are high in vitamins and nutrients (I'll have to look to see which ones, exactly), especially when you throw in the leaves with the blend. They're supposed to be great for detoxification, liver, etc.Just some thoughts, I'm kind of waking up still, so my brain isn't exactly on fire, ha. But I thought I would offer something up for thought. TwirlWow! Thank you both I will definitely try out the beet root recipe And will look up the links Rainbow. Ami AnneI take Perfect Food by Garden of Life. It tastes TERRIBLE. I am used to bad tasting things and this tops them. I have to take it with mangoes or something like this but I think it is the best superfood out there.------------------Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/TwirlLol. I am glad it will taste terrible. I will google that too. Thank you Might even be the stuff they sell in the organic shop.Weirdest thing, after I opened this thread I read a glossy (!!) magazine which had an article on... superfoods & raw food. Apparently it's now very trendy too use it, lol. Which probs explained the new section in the organic shop. I'll start trying it next week Ami AnneJordan Rubin is the founder of Garden of Life. He cured himself of Crohn's disease. He was down to 80 pounds and would have been dead if he stayed with traditional medicine.I bet he sells in Europe. I buy it from Amazon, Twirl.------------------Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/
