T O P I C R E V I E WMineAgainLast night, I had a really odd dream. In this dream, I was engaged to a man who seemed like an ideal match: handsome, successful, intelligent, loving. Then the day before our wedding I kept talking about an ex (I know who this ex is) with whom I had an instant connection. I kept telling my fiance that my ex and would complete each other's sentences, use the same word at the same time ... Fast forward, the following day was our wedding day and it seemed to be a religious one since there were religious books and a preacher (not sure what religion). My parents and his were present. It's odd as I cut my parents off and they'd be against me marrying a Caucasian guy (too bad, it's my preference). Anyway, I ended up calling the wedding off two hours before the ceremony. The fiance was mad and did not speak to me on that day.The following day, the ex-fiance met up with me to tell me: "I love you. I'll never forget you but you should be with the one you love. Goodbye.". And we parted ways. I tried to kiss him but he declined.I know he was referring to my ex and I knew I was not in love with my fiance in this dream. What does this sentence mean? I'm single in real life and I haven't spoken to this ex in almost two years. I haven't dated anyone since him. He's been single too. This is such a disturbing dream. It felt so real.GeminiKaratPlease read it as an opinion:Marriage in a dream is associated with union or obligation and the question: with what am I ready to unite or to bind? This dream indicates that your heart will only unite (=marriage) with a man that you love(=…..you should be with the one you love….).RaIf GeminiKarat is correct, then I would ask, what spurred the dream? Had you been thinking about love, relationships, and/or the ex before this dream? Otherwise, what is it that you are/were having reservations about committing to? MineAgainThank you both GeminiKarat and Ra. The thought of getting married or love did not cross my mind before this dream. However, a couple hours prior, I had an encounter with a man who was trying to hit on me. He saw a ring on my finger and asked me if I was engaged. As I was not interested in him, I told him I was engaged so he would leave me alone. Then, when he left, I started getting anxiety and told myself: "Me, married? Never". I removed the ring because I felt extremely "scared". My parents do not believe in interfaith or interracial dating/marriages. Hence, I thought that this guy probably thought I had an "arranged" marriage which gave me hives as the last thing I'm interested in is getting married through an arrangement. Too bad for my parents because I'm not attracted to guys they'd want me to date. I'm a bit of a free spirit and I've always had a problem with getting married for whatever reason because it always reminded me of this "arranged" aspect. GeminiKaratYou are welcome. It may sound odd, but your dream sounds like a reflection of what you said. The final connection is up to you.I wish you all the best! RaDoesn't sound odd at all. I see what you mean, and I agree.
