I am putting this here because it's getting zero play in the SU thread an dI want to see if I can tell her tonight. Thanks!Okay so tonight at dinner, my niece asks me if can do a horary for her. She is 17 and this is her first deep boy interest. I told her unless the chart was clearcut easy, I could only attempt to read. So her question was, Is Michael Attracted to Me?: The chart (under Laura'sBoy) we drew up is here: http://www.astro.com/cgi/chart.cgi?;btyp=2;mth=gw;hsy=;zod=;sday=4;smon=8;syr=2005;rs=;orbp=;cid=jubfile0TIv0c-u1123017773;lang=e;gm=a1;ast=&nhor=3&nho2=1 I told her it looked like a yes to me. Capricorn in the 1st ruled by Saturn conjuncts him 7th house ruler Cancer or the Moon. I didn't want to go any further. Did I tell her correctly?

Not sure Michael is represented by ruler of 7th. This is not deep relationship/partnership we are talking about here, but a flirtation kind of thing. I would say his significator is probably Mercury. Mercury is afflicted by an opposition from Neptune, planet of delusion, illusion, confusion, etc. in Laura's first. Could he be confused by her behavior/demeanor?BTW, did you qualify the chart first? You have to check if this is a valid chart by looking at the Moon's most recent aspect. It has to reflect something that happened in the recent past, preferably something leading up to this question she is asking now. I'm new at horary, so I am sure there is more. IP: Logged |

Thanks Loggerhead. Gosh, I just checked to make sre the ascendant wasn't too early and for the combust thing. I only know that they grew up together but have only been on one official date. I see the moon and mercury are now conjunct. But I am not sure what you mean by what event happened before? I so often hear that the quesited should be 7 in a relationship question but I see what you mean about 5. They are young, not married and newbies...LOL. Is he Confused about her behavior? Possibly she's not a little league tom boy anymore. She's beautiful but a little shy. Hey, he might wonder if she just wants to be friends or if she has feeling for him?? You might be on to something there! IP: Logged |

I think, LILIGIRL, all the horary experts have gone on a cruise, and it's just you and me now womanning the ship of our burning questions... Let me try again. There are several factors that can render an horary chart invalid. Besides the Ascendant being very early or very late in the sign, the Moon being void, the Moon being anywhere from 15 degrees in Libra to 15 in Scorpio (none of those things apply in this case), there is also the ruler of the 7th. If Saturn is in the 7th, or the 7th house cup is afflicted, or 7th house ruler is afflicted, the chart is considered invalid. In this case Saturn IS in the 7th, and he IS afflicted by a square from Mars. Mars in the 3rd house here, which is communication, close kin or relations, rumors and gossip, among other things. I would guess this chart is invalid either because of the spirit in which the question was asked :"Auntie, find out if Michael is attracted to me," giggle giggle -- sorry, but that's not the frame of mind that is going to produce a valid chart. And/or you don't know the entire context of the situation, and the question wasn't properly fixed in your own mind when you drew the chart. Anyway, it says in the Anthony Louis book:"Saturn in the 7th, or the 7th cuspo o tis ruler afflicted, suggeste sthat the atrologer may have difficulty interpreting the chart. He or she may make mistakes in calculation or judgment." And further on: "...Saturn may show that the astrologer's rapport with the querent is poor. The astrologer may be insensitive to the emotional state of the querent." (pp. 60-61) Well, whatever. Don't take it the wrong way. But it is an indicator that, one way or another, this chart appears to be invalid. Hope this helps. IP: Logged |
