Being back in that warm kitchen, a practical homey showcaseTomato jackets cracking aromas, buckets, seeds, and fleshy Roma meat steaming deer charging then stopping, near the garden of plenty Ball lids finally popping heart break - pauses and looks far away, while talking gypsy stories, and the way they moved through thoughts of germanic food, life styles, and your brood- my ears perked and listening furs, exquisite shampoos, dinner parties reading tea leaves and your gifts of charity droves of friends always coming and dispersing, with warm cheeks and homemade Slivovitz a mix of air and perfect earth like your full, clothes line waving routine and structure, paramount to health old old lessons, learned and received well love, no nonsense, your style I dreamt of you recently, and knew that familiar hello momentarily... grateful, for a small tear given.. a fallen penny found on a clear day of open sky. Truly beautiful, though mentioning meat or fur is far from what I would call my cup of tea. See Earthlings on youtube and know what I mean by that.IP: Logged |

Thanks for reading ladies and Aylet fur is not my cup of tea neither, however she (my friend) came from a different era, and it was often glamorized back then to own one, not frowned upon like it is nowadays. As an older lady she didn't put much emphasis on the material side of life, is was more about gardening, canning, cooking, and the trove of stories she retold.. from her younger colorful life.

I was lucky to have my couple elderly close friends..for many years. They're all gone, I miss them; especially the wisdom and interesting conversations. IP: Logged |

I know you miss them, Pearlty. I know what a caring friend you were to them, too. {{ }}I told you the story of how I had taken care of a lady while she was in her earlier 90s. She loved to tell me all her stories, about gay Garden Parties in upper-state and NYC, NY. She and her friends were part of the bandage-rolling efforts during the world-war years. Her mind was very sharp, and she was a very nervous-jittery little person. She enjoyed (had to have, medicinally) a whiskey-sour every day, and insisted I drink one with her. I did that only once, and it knocked me out where I couldn't focus to study my textbook. (I was studying the physiology of brains and nerves at that time... I remember ..). The next day when I declined to imbibe, she refused to have hers and oh wow, her nervousness was off the scale. So I got smart, and began dumping a little bit of my drink gradually into the poor dracaena in a planter next to me. (I think she ~knew that.) We BOTH found a way to have what we needed. She used to read every day, loved her Beautiful beautiful garden, the bird-bath, a pine tree, the red cardinals that came to visit. (I'm not sure, but I think she had an April birthdate?) Anyways, I had had a 'tornado' dream (which in the past usually signified the passing of someone in my life). AND, I had an inkling to send her a card to say hello, and that I was thinking about her. The day I wrote the card, she had passed. Her relatives sent me such a kind response, saying how fond their mother was of me. They used to have to fit their business flight schedules to my hours (college). I loved listening to her stories, as much as she loved to tell them. IP: Logged |

Awe Yes! I remember you telling me about your older lady friend. Thanks for your story. I think it's this time of year- starting seedlings, awaiting spring, being able to dig in the earth soon, and having more sun! Reminds me of them. Will listen to the music a little later ty! IP: Logged |

Thanks for more music Mirage! will have a listen with my coffee break this morning. Hope all is well with you? We are experiencing our fluctuating weather- over the weekend it was close to 70', then colder temps, then warm again, and later in the week a little snow storm is suppose to come.. playing heck on my allergies, which I'm attributing to indoor allergens. I can't wait to open the windows/doors, and let the house air out C'mon Spring! I bought up some discounted flowers left over from Valentine's and a couple small pots of primroses for the kitchen window sill..I was missing having some color around. Feels much better! * eta, saw the stark, brilliant, beautiful, big moon -this morning on the way to my daughter's school.. wish I could have captured a pic.!!
