Does anyone have successful relationships where there is no harmony between both people’s Sun and Moon signs? And no out of sign positive aspects. Like all fire for one and all earth for the other? Could the Ascendant way up for the lack of compability here? IP: Logged |

Sun-Moon is not the be-all and end-all. Look out for Sun-ASC, Moon-ASC, Moon-Moon (which is more impt IMO), Moon-IC.IP: Logged |

Define "no harmony" ...The answer to your main question is Yes, it literally happens ALL the time, but it gets overlooked by using a narrow, under-informed notion of compatibility. (Astrologers not using declinations are part of this crowd, which includes over 90% of them. My wife has Moon in Leo, Sun in Gemini. I have Moon in Capricorn, Sun in Taurus. That's not supposed to be "compatible". And yes, Ascendants do play into this, BUT they must be precisely accurate in both charts to know. (That's uncommon in unverified charts cast by the birth time of record.) My wife's Asc is nearly 19° Scorpio and mine is at 17° Virgo, but that sextile is just one aspect. The entire collection of aspects needs to be taken into account to get the overall tone and compatibility picture. She and I have a majority of positive, supportive aspects. My Jupiter is closely contra-parallel her Moon -- a supportive aspect (as all Moon-Jupiter contacts are; don't believe the portrayals in books of some of the hard aspects). Many people seem to have compatible elements or signs, yet their synastry does not have a majority of positive aspects for a domesticated union. ------------------ Soul Stars Astrology by The Declinations Guy Expert birth chart rectification IP: Logged |

I just feel I’ve seen so many places in books and online that put so much importance to at least one favorable aspect or at least complimentary elements between Sun/Moon or Moon/Moon so I wasn’t sure. I’d think Asc would play a role here too IP: Logged |

I’ve read it so many places about the importance of having at least one compatible elements between luminaries but I also felt it’s a bit lacking. At the same time it’s the important luminaries we are talking about after all. You and your wife seems to have compatible parts of your synastry. But yes, I will ease up thinking Sun Moon stuff is the end all and go with the broader view IP: Logged |

Just like Venus-Mars is the gold standard for sexual compatibility but I've had better sex with guys I've no Venus-Mars with, but rather... Mars-Mars, Mars-Pluto and other Mars aspects. IP: Logged | |
