Sent your revised report. Hope you got it. I'm not of the school of thought that all soul mates are supposed to be happily ever after marriage scenarios, but I think it's interesting that when you do have a strong connection to another person to explore what astrological aspects are there. I also bumped this because IQ has a lot of good info on this thread.

1.Your silly mask or Ascendant as the other person's must be of any holy elemental like earth, water or fire in order to maintain the relationship on surface. But ignore the square and opposition aspects especially if your mask are of fixed kind since it would be annoying to death

2.Your and the other's Midheaven must be of same elemental since this is the most importand and ignored thing overall

3.Your Sun must dominate the other's Moon in order to gain some adoration

4.Your Venus must have a compatible counter Venus from the other's chart in order to maintain fidelity

5.Your Mars must have a compatible counter Mars from the other's chart in order to maintain common interests

Moon and sun in close conj is not necessarily a good thing - archetypally it is 'supposed' to work but in real life it doesn't always go well or suit. I hated having my Moon conj someone's sun.

My take has always been a focus on the angles. I do see also a lot of recurring themes with the Midheaven/MC rulers in conj to one another. Something aspecting the MC especially in hard angles will also be hitting the IC/4th house cusp, which can be likened to hitting one's soul and stirring up past life memories. Angle rulers and angle contact for me has been more consistent on the 10th/4th house axis as opposed to the 1st/7th house axis.....but I think it's probably different for everyone

I would also look at the Sun/Moon midpoint signs and degrees, even the Mars/Venus midpoint sign and degrees can say a lot....a lot of the times, one person's sun or moon will make a *hard* aspect to the other's midpoint (usually within very close degrees) to show the connection.

Of course, all of these sound good but the whole picture of the composite and the synastry has to have some balance - no single aspect will point to a soulmate. Plus what activates your chart is very unique to what activates another chart. I think this is why I stand by the angles and their rulers a lot of the time. It's a recurring theme in a lot of the deep connections I have seen for others.

For longer-lasting relationships Saturn is also often aspecting personal planets/luminaries, and often in hard major aspect (conj, square, opposition)...which is a bond, for better or worse Saturn is also heavily karmic. Often soulmates can be very karmic.
