Hmm, I may have asked this before, if so I apologize in advance. Anyway, Venus is at 29 degrees in my chart, in Libra. If a planet is that close to being in another sign, would some of the qualities of that sign relate to the individual? For instance, would some of my tendancies towards love and relationships be Scorpio-like, or is it purely Libra?IP: Logged |

It's called an anaretic degree. Read all about it here: http://karma.astrology.com/anaretic.html?arrivalSA=1&cobrandRef=0&arrival_freqCap=1&pba=adid=13605650 IP: Logged |

I have my Asc in Taurus at 29.48 degrees. That would make my 1st House mostly Gemini, which is a specific topic I've not been able to find anybody expounding upon. I've gotten good hunches on it, but it's a valid a topic as any, including the "29th degree". You still have to sort of read between the lines. The query in my head being, I understand what it does to the Taurus in 29.48 degrees, but I don't understand enough about how it's neighbor affects this. Obviously, it would give me a little more of a "Gemini" influence, but I'd love a very direct bridge between that Anaretic and the rest of my 1st House. For example. You know how you'll see lists like, "Node North Leo/South Node Aqua". Or, "Mars in Virgo/Venus in Leo" - with nice neat little interpretations. Finding a sort of list like that would be cool. "Anaretic Taurus Asc/Gemini Occupying Most of 1st House". IP: Logged |

Hey AJ, The book, Parker's Astrology by Julia and Derek Parker, gives a nice description of the ' blending ' from one, to the next sign. It is given as a Sun or, Asc progressing, however and, gives no mention of the anaretic influence. It is'nt a terribly long description, if you want it.....?Later, ~geminstone IP: Logged |

This is a very interesting thread that I found via another interesting thread!!! I have my natal sun in taurus at 29 degrees. My pluto in libra is also at 29 degrees. Forgive me if I sound ridiculous here, but I have always felt as though I will be one of a few "lucky" or "chosen" people on this planet who will make a massively significant spiritual discovery!!! I realise I sound absurd, but it also ties in with this feeling I have that this might just be my last life on earth. Maybe this "anaretic degree" theory has something in it, because I often feel very profound - like I'm very close to discovering the truth about something BIG, and that I just have to keep "thinking." (My "thinking" being the thing that would lead to this "discovery.") I realise that some of you who will read this are going to laugh your heads off at me but never mind!!! I wish I could explain my crazy brain a bit better.... Any of you lot got this "fated" degree in anything?! All theorys appriciated - the madder the better!!! IP: Logged |

I have a question about the anaretic degree. I read somewhere that it is considered between 29*00' and 29*59' and somewhere else that it's between 28*30' and 29*30'... I have 2 planets in the 1st case and 2 in the 2nd...(heavy karma, hey? yeah, most of my planets and points are at the end of the signs... oh well...). All the 4 descriptions sound like me. So which is it??IP: Logged |

I'm not at all sure which it is izodesmozina. Sorry I'm not more help!!! If it's the second option, then it actually rules out both of mine - my sun being at 29 degrees 31, funnily enough! (so close, eh!) I'm tempted to go with the first option though, because that's what I want it to be!!! Anyone have any idea?! IP: Logged |

You guys probably read this, but I thought having it in front of our eyes would lessen the discussion. Sun When positioned in the 29th degree of your chart, the Sun indicates a need to focus more on your identity and your sense of self. Answer the question, "Who am I?" Deeply consider your roots and how they've shaped the person you are. Issues with your father or your father figure may need to be resolved. You may often have difficulty relating to men due to this conflict. Keep your ego in check. Work on your sense of individuality and cultivate proactive channels of self-expression. Pay closer attention to certain aspects of your health, mainly issues concerning your heart, back and spine. Moon Spending some time unpacking your emotions is time well spent. The Moon encourages us to open ourselves up and to communicate our true feelings. There may be issues with your mother or women in your life that you need to resolve. Listen to your instincts and your feelings and make efforts to express them more honestly. Pay attention to your mood. Your first reaction may be the best; trust your instincts and reflexes. Seek out or offer your mothering and nurturing side. Pay close attention to the health of your stomach and breasts. Mercury Mercury is the Planet of Communication, and at its Anaretic Degree it focuses on the lesson of expressing oneself more clearly. Strut your intellect and practice your mental dexterity. Stretch your vocabulary and use new words. Take the time to contemplate your mental processes and explore your inner mind. You are preoccupied with issues of mental health or mental acuity. Practice the logic that you study. Pay closer attention to the health of your arms, hands, shoulders and lungs. Venus You've always had issues with relationships and romantic partners, and in this lifetime you need to work the kinks out of having a successful relationship. Beauty, charm and aesthetics are also worthy of your reevaluation, and thinking about what makes something or someone pleasing is a big part of that lesson. Assess your relationship with material possessions. The company you keep is more culturally astute and you hope to emulate their tastes. Seek harmony and sociability in everything you do and you will reach the popularity you seek. Pay close attention to the health of your throat and kidneys. Mars Problems with asserting yourself have always been an issue; you're on the cusp of either learning how to be more aggressive or learning to keep your aggressions in check. Learn to put your needs out on the table rather than surrounding yourself with people who fight your battles for you. You have suppressed passions that you need to bring to the surface. Get closer to your own sexual energy and expertise and bring the lessons of assertiveness into the bedroom as well. Once you have courage and willpower, you can have whatever you want. Pay close attention to your health concerning blood, cuts, burns and headaches. Jupiter The Planet Jupiter encourages you to achieve your goals. Go back to school if you've been wanting to, or self-educate. Get in touch with a higher sense of thinking and learning. Take note of ethics, religion or foreign affairs. Explore more of the world outside of yourself. Avoid excess in drinking and risk taking. Take advantage of opportunities that involve long distance travel. Any or all of these experiences will bring the enrichment you desperately need. Pay attention to the health of your liver, hips and thighs. Saturn If Saturn appears in the 29th degree in your chart, it symbolizes that you've never learned to take proper responsibility for yourself and that you need to get organized, once and for all. Learn your limitations and accept them. Make plans accordingly. Deal with your ambitions and your frustrations; take real steps to make your plans come to fruition. Patience is something you've always battled with and you've never had a great respect for authority figures, but part of moving on is learning how to deal with both. Practice diligence. Ask for assistance when you need it. Learn how reassuring and comforting a little structure in your life can be. Pay close attention to the health of your knees, skin, bones and teeth. Uranus Accepting revolutionary ideas -- your own or someone else's -- will take you to new heights. You've always been one to be stunned by bizarre, erratic happenings, but you should learn to accept these events as great opportunities. Celebrate the differences and the oddities of the world around you and you will become an active participant. Until you learn this social tolerance, you will never progress to the next stage of universal development. Your dependence on stability is keeping you weighted down. Create and invent new projects and new possibilities. Pay close attention to the health of your nervous system and your ankles. Neptune With Neptune in your Karmic Degree, you've never learned how to face an issue head on. You always escape your problems or pretend they don't exist. Too often this planet brings with it alcoholism or drug dependency, or the kind of shallow happiness that comes from faded glamor and tattered gowns. You currently deal in smoke and mirrors, and planting yourself in the here and now is the most valuable task you can undertake. Unveil the secrets of your life and deal with them directly and frankly. Pay close attention to the health of your feet. Pluto You've always had a difficult time accepting changes, letting go and starting anew. Recognize that change is a chance for rebirth and rejuvenation and that death is an infallible part of living. With every ending there is a new beginning. Your tendency is to hang on to the past for as long as you can. Accept the hand life deals you; take it moment by moment. Learn to start anew and to make life where there was once nothing. Pay closer attention to the health of your reproductive system. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have Moon&Neptune at 29* Sagittarius, Mars at 28*50' Aries in opposition with Pluto at 28*33' Libra... Plus one North Node at 28*55' Gemini (Mean Node). They all sound like me. God, I have issues to solve! Taurus/Gemini cusp, you don't sound crazy nor ridiculous nor anything else. We are all special and we all have our own part to play on this Earth. Who knows, maybe you will have your massively significant spiritual discovery. I feel special, too. And I'm sure I'm supposed to do something big in this life, but I'm not sure what hehe. Anaretic degree people often feel or think things other don't. I feel pretty sad nobody understands me. But everything seems to be pointing to me becoming an independent thinker who stands on her own. Good luck on your (self)discovery! IP: Logged |

anoretic degrees have been on my mind lately and have been trying to learn a bit. The answers keep coming at LindaLand for sure. Thank you all darlings-here's my stuff: A male Gemini 6/05/84 4:05 AM corpus christi west, texas usa has Mars through Pluto retrograde with 6th house Libran Pluto 29 37'34" Natal andProgressed Jupiter through Pluto retrogade Progressed 6th house Sag Neptune 29 52'10" He will be released to my home within the next few months. i realize he needs to become more self reliant and orderly. He has a tendency towards drink & substance. sometimes he frightens me but generally he has a heart of gold. My progressed Leo Saturn is in the 11th house progressed Capricorn Pholus (soul?)in the 4th. We go back aways and at this time are a mom and son- I have a strong urge to take him and relocate to a small town for a new start. How, don't know. Been thinking of just showing up and not leaving; claim refugee status or something-a bold move a problem here is that my enemies hurt him to hurt me and we have a lot of karmic crap for sure-Ps he is a 33 master number As a child, enlightened foreign folk would be so happy to see him! They would dance with him and say how they have been waiting for him! As his Mom in this life, I realize he has 'something' but am not as currently impressed with what he is doing with his capabilities. Also, local bikers said he was a double-heart. yaddayadda me, couldn't get him to do the chores!

(Ahha, Eureeka, she has found it!)I've read this one before. I have Neptune in Sag at the 29th, but someone brought up the resounding question: If Neptune at the 29th is a generational thing, does the interp still hold water? I also have Sun in Taurus, 0 degs, 1 hr, 32 min. IP: Logged |

I also have Venus at 29 degrees (Scorpio). I have seen Tim give the keyword for an anaretic degree as very strong energy (If I'm not mistaken). I believe any planet or angle at 29 degrees takes on a much stronger energy.IP: Logged |

I suppose if you go by the critical degree theory then planets at zero deg of cardinal signs will be heightened in power. Izo - I also have heard different spans for the anarectic degree. IP: Logged |

Teaologist, I think you should take your anaretic Neptune into consideration, even if it's supposed to be generational. Actually, the day I was born, Neptune was stationary retrograde (so it's even more powerful, plus it's my guiding planet ) - so, with its retragrade motion not everybody has an anaretic Neptune (29*.00'-29*.59'). Of course, it would be stronger in some charts and weeker in others, depending on other factors, but I consider it either way. Well, if nobody has anything against it, I'm going to consider all my 4 planets at an anaretic degree, because all 4 descriptions sound very much like me. Just so you know . IP: Logged |

Coolies! I believe Neptune is my guiding planet too. And true, the anaeretic deg interp does fit well. I guess it makes sense. I don't have a lot of Neptunian influences in my chart, but I sure feel 'Neptunian' 90% of the time (spaced out, kinda).IP: Logged |
