Sky,

You asked:

quote:
When you talk about energies and love restrictions, what do you mean? I think growing up, I scared men away because I was so bent on the happily-ever-after. Am I going along the right lines?

That's exactly what I meant. While marriage does create a structure to relationships, it also creates certain restrictions. There is an understanding that each person is somehow "bound" to the other and that neither person is "allowed" to look for other relationships. People with a challenging Saturn-Venus may want to have this sort of "relationship restriction" in ALL their relationships, not only those that end in marriage. Or they may, as in your case, ONLY want to be married and not be interested in any other type of relationship.

Agreeing,

Tim

Wow, how did I miss this? I'm a Saturn trine Venus girl, and I relate to many of the points mentioned here. I'd also like to expand a little on your point, Tim, about not wanting a relationship without some level of restrictions. I can't do casual sex, never have, never would. If a relationship is going to become sexual, it would have had to pass certain milestones first. I don't appreciate a "player", and I know one when I see one. I don't appreciate being a "rebound" girl, and I know that when I see it too. I'm holding auditions for the role of King, so only real men need apply lol.. I think I stole that from somewhere, from a thing about the Leo lady.

BUT - since we're talking about Saturn + Venus here, my opinion? The trine is probably the least bothersome of the lot, because it brings a sense of reality to the love nature, and a willingness to "work" for love. It doesn't carry as much foreboding of sadness in love as the more dynamic aspects may. It's more of an "in control" energy, to avoid disappointment. And we seem to have alot of patience in love too.

Arnicka,

You asked:

quote:
...how Im to interpret my square between these 2 since it combines with a Venus/Pluto square [Saturn being conj Pluto in the chart]. The sq to Pluto is stronger [closer in orb w/Venus applying to Pluto, whereas the sq to saturn is a separating aspect]...

Since you addressed this directly to Happy Dragon, I waited for Happy to answer the question. But if you want another opinion...

First of all, I ignore "applying" and "separating" in birth charts because the birth chart is a NON-moving chart. The birth chart doesn't change at ALL, EVER. So, to me, referring to planets "moving towards each other" (applying) or "moving away from each other" (separating) in a chart that has NO movement makes NO sense.

So, instead, we look at the aspects and the "keywords" (more about keywords in Step 5 in the link at the bottom). You have:

Saturn conjunct Pluto square Venus

which is

Saturn (duty, also structure, restriction) conjunct (energy is combined with) Pluto (transformation, also control) square (energy needs to be combined with) Venus (relationships)

which could indicate you have both a need for structure and control in relationships, which could mean relationship restrictions or being controlled in relationships...or in you structuring your relationships and taking control of relationships...depending on whether you are used by or are using the energy.

Explaining,

Tim

Hi Happy Dragon,

I was briefly scrolling through the comments and I have to say that what you excerpted from that book touched me too. I am learning to deal with this aspect (Mine is a conj.)...Thank you for sharing this with us.

Thank you for this information. I've got Venus square Saturn and have struggled with relationship issues all my life. My father left my mother before I was born and I've never met him, so there you go--classic abandonment fears!

I appreciate you going to the trouble of typing all that out. I'm going to get a copy of the book, I think, so I can have it on hand to read whenever I want.

Thanks again!

Me also AcousticGod...and what a heavy opposition too...in fixed signs AND houses...Saturn in Tuarus in the eleventh house....venus in scorpio in the fifth.

Strangely my creativity and expression comes easily beacuse of the venus. But I worry about having enough money and have no confidence in large groups which is surely the saturn.

Thanks for bumping this thread Happy Dragon. It's a good read. I have Venus in Opposition to Saturn myself. It gets more twisted from there because it's also in Opposition to Uranus, so I'm usually struggle between freedom and commitment. I also believe that I have the tendancy to fear/avoid intimate relationships because I often doubt that I can ever provide a partner happiness due to my own inhibitions. It's a bummer.
