Thanks everyone for their kind words,

I am far from "wealth of knowledge", most of my observations are empirical, eg. from asking couples I know their birth data and having a peek at their synastry.
For instance, I often noticed that Moon conjunct Uranus in synastry is also "love at first sight" aspect, besides the well known "Venus-Uranus". One day I will post some of my "observations" about aspects and planets, just for everyone's entertainment!

Lot more to learn, though, and that's why I like this forum, where many people can contribute with their own experiences.

Allanabelle - Wow! Venus conjunct Pluto and Mars! Plus Venus conjunct Saturn (this is the one, with Venus opposite Saturn) I often find in married couples. Amazing contacts, you really don't need "relationship" houses placements with these aspects. HOT!

Taurus80 - we also need your place of birth, and we can tell you where your seventh house starts and begins. If you can tell us that, that would be great, many of us here can look that up for you (if I don't happen to be logged in when you post them).
Love to all, S.

Which house of yours do you consider the other person's planet being in if it's sitting on the "line" between like houses 7 and 8?

Hi Cap,

Both, I think.
There are various astro opinions about this, and one of the most common is, that if it is in the last 5 degrees of, say seventh house, then cosider it like being in the 8th.

However, I would not make such sharp borders. I've read a really good description of these borderline planets in houses.

It is as if you are in the house, and you are standing in the dining room, but you are just about to step over the threshold to the kitchen to fetch something. So, even though you are standing in the dining room, your back is actually turned to it, and your real intentions are turned to the kitchen.
So, the same as with planets. They still have influence on the house that they are in, but if they are about 5 degrees of the cusp of the next house. they definitely have effect on that house as well.
Almost, the real intension is towerd the next house. Where they have stronger influence, I really don't know...

Bullhead - for long term, you usually need some Saturn aspects, usually to Sun, Venus, often to Mars as well (even though, Mars-Saturn aspects have bad reputation, they are amazingly common among couples. Often they indicate, believe it or not, a strong sexual attraction!).

But, the stellium in any house, like you have in your fifth, definitely put the accent on that house, so whether long-term or not, the relationship should certainly be very significant. It is better though to have some personal planets there (like you have Venus), because many people of that same generation will have Uranus and Pluto in your fifth house, because, they move very slowly, and many people will have Uranus and Pluto in those same positions.
But Venus in the fifth is a lovely, lovely position. In my observations, if other aspects support it, it is often the placement that implies "true love".

Thanks Selena. Wow, ya'll, I just ran the house overlays for me and my ex-husband which I had never done before. I had done our synastry, long after the divorce, but these overlays seem to confirm the dynamics of the relationship and also how it played out...

He had his sun/venus in my 8th, moon in my 5th, merc. in my 7th; and I had sun/venus in his 9th, moon in his 8th, mars in 12th. We had the initial mutual physical attraction and I was the one who felt the urge to solidy things and get married, and I also later wanted children. I always doubted his affections for me and the underlying motivations for which he stayed with me.

AND I also noticed that aside from that moon of his in my 5th house, when I did my planets overlayed on his chart, there were no planets (his or mine) in his 5th house. Would that seem to indicate that there were to be no children between us, and also perhaps that he may not have children in his future?

This is how it played out and how it is playing out for him now... with a woman he's been seeing for 3 years who will not be having children w/ him...

Our overlays are very "top heavy" with most planets in the upper half of the wheel; whereas, with this other guy whom I feel such a strong connection with on all levels, the overlays are very right-sided heavy and his uranus is present in my fifth house and my uranus is in his fifth! Freaky... about that unplanned pregnancy interpretation!!! (The one and only time we've been "together", he was automatically very cautious/protected...and he has Piscean qualities w/ a moon-neptune conjunct.)

I could go on and on. But these overlays are ringing loudly accurate.

WOW!!! This topic sparked some great discussion! I was so shocked to come here today and see 30 posts... I looked last night after it had been posted all evening and there were no responses

Illog, I don't believe the aspects are "boring" myself, but I've been told on other forums that the house placements don't indicate that he sees me in a romantic sense. His Pluto is conjunct my ASC and his Venus is conjunct my Vertex and DC. My Sun, Moon, Mercury & Mars fall in his 3rd house, with my Sun/Mars conjunction conjunct his IC and Jupiter conjunct his MC. I've been told 3rd house isn't romantic, and that the feelings I have probably aren't mutual

Which is pretty funny, because despite his Pluto conjuncting my ASC and his Venujs conjuncting my DC... he was the one that was openly "crazed", and to this day he tells me that some decisions he made and things he did that made sure we couldn't be together (or delayed it?), he is the one who says he will regret this decisions for the rest of his life.

My Venus and Neptune conjunction fall in his 2nd house, Uranus in the 1st, Pluto in the 12th, Saturn in the 11th.

But the aspects we have are explosive, especially with each others chart rulers (his is Pluto and mine is Venus). We have so many aspects with each others angles (our angles also aspect each other). My Venus/Neptune conjuntion sits on his Sun/Moon midpoint.

In the composite chart, the Pluto and Venus aspects are extremely powerful too.

I was just wondering what the rest of the board thought/felt about it. 2nd opinion, if you will.

Carry on!

Hello Cappy,

I am back for just a short time, because I have loads of things to do.

No, the lack of your planets in his fifth house doesn't imply that you wouldn't have children together. It doesn't have to be mutual placements, his Moon alone in your fifth implies that there was a possibility of you having children together. It rarely happens that people have mutual house placements in synastry. You probably were not meant to have them with him for other reasons, because lots of people have children together even if they don't have fifth house planets.

Actually, his Moon in your fifth, it is really very nice placement, shows a strong emotional involvement in the relationship. I don't believe that he didn't have affections for you with the moon here, it is almost impossible. Perhaps you were just incompatible, nothing more sinister than that.

I mean, with his moon in your 5th and your moon in his 8th, it would be unlikely that the relationship was not deeply emotional. The moon is so important, it is our soul, our deepest feelings, and you both had them in mutual emotional-partnershiop houses.

Lovegoblin - Yes, I noticed Moon-Uranus to be often represented in instant attractions. You have double whammy, which means that you both awaken similar feelings in one another.
With moon-uranus, it is emotional awakening, you definitely stir emotions in one another, but this attraction may have something unusual about it. Perhaps, it was an unexpected, sudden attraction, or you and him may wonder what hit you, because it was so different, awakening the feelings in one another that were perhaps different to what you felt before, etc.
I would say that 8th and 11th house connected with such beautiful aspect like this means you are both lovers and friends, it doesn't get any better then that.
I have to go now, but of course, everyone has their own interpretation of things, this is just how I would look at it.
I personally believe that, when 5th, 7th, 8th, and often 4th and 1st houses are involved in synastry (usually it is combination of few of these), then the relationship of some kind is almost certain to unfold. Whether it will last or not, sometimes it is hard to ascertaing, depends on many factors (not all astrological), but nevertheless, there will be emotional or physical connection there.
See you soon, S.

Hi Venus,

I could not resist to reply when I saw your post.

In our many posts here, we focused on the house placements, just because it simply snowballed from one or two question.

But, of course that your aspects between the planets more than compensate for lack of "adequate" house placements.

Whoever told you about "that you don't awaken romantic feelings in him" doesn't have a clue. I don't want to sound nasty, but that is such silly thing to say.

I mean, if you have, say Venus-Mars, or Sun-Moon, or Venus-Pluto, or Moon-Mars (conjunctions are strong) etc. aspects, it doesn't matter at all what houses they are in, because the intrinsic meaning of these planets is romantic/sexual/emotional.

You've mentioned something that I noticed a lot. When Vertex conjuncts (or opposes) someone's Venus, Mars, or Ascendant, this often signify "fated" relationship. Usually, the feeling of "knowing" goes both ways, regardless of who is Vertex, who Venus. It can be Mars, ASC, and possibly Pluto, as well.

This does not mean that, if there are no Vertex aspects as such, that the relationship is not meaningful, it is just one of the things that I noticed regularly in significant relationships, regardless they end up in marriage or not.
Also, the best of friends often have Mercury conjunct Vertex.
Anyway, there are lots of indications of relationship potential in astrology, it is rarely one or another. Everyone who responded to this forum have some major relationship indicators, with some people it is houses, with some planets and aspects, with some people it is some mixture of both.
As for your Venus/Neptune conjunction. I would "translate" it that he sees you as the "divine lover", perhaps even a bit idealised in his eyes. Like almost Godess type. Bear in mind that conjunctions with midpoints need to be very tight, I think 1-1.2 degrees maximum.

I wonder if he is Pluto in your relationship. Because, Pluto loves to play those games of withdrawing, sabotaging, playing cool, feigning disinterest etc. I mean, Venus-Pluto is perhaps the most intense, "subterrenean" attraction, you know, like that deep hummm, hummmm, but they just like to resist it, because they are afraid of diving in, afraid of their own feeling of powerlessness when faced with such deep emotions.
And then, when it is too late, they often return, because they cannot let go. But it is often too late, because the other person had enough of power games. Ah, the joy of Pluto...

And people, do check your Vertexes in your current, or past relationships, even friendships. It is quite an interesting excercise, it is under "asteroid selection" heading on astro.com website, where you get to choose your chart.
Cheers, Selena.

Hhhmmmm.. well, his Sun/Moon midpoint is at 16.43 of Sag and my Venus/Neptune conjunction is at 19 degrees of Sag (Venus at 19..16 and Neptune 19.40)... I figured it was like other synastric conjunctions... valid within 5 degrees? It's a close one to call either way.

Regardless of that, there is A LOT of other stuff going on, so much so, that I honestly could write about all of it even if I tried! There are the angles and the Chiron connections and the Nodes and asteriods. We have the Magi astrology cinderella aspects.

I think I got a little upset because after I was told about 3rd house making him not see me in that light... well... I spy on his myspace... hahaha... and I found out some stuff about a girl he was seeing. Well, I found out her birthday and it was the same as his (different year), and they had all this 4th house stuff going on and all these conjunctions and I was about to scream!!!

Then they broke up. And he plays dumb when I ask, and says he is not seeing anyone.

I felt even better a few weeks later, when I found her posting on a board, asking for advice on him. she said she thought she was in love with him and told him so, but he explained that he didn't want to say it if he didn't mean it. Then she said he said he had only been in love once, and he screwed it up, but now he's not sure if it was love or infatuation. She wanted to know if it was okay for her to accept this and keep seeing him or if she should date other people.

I was so happy to read that, I almost cried, because I know without a doubt he was talking about me. Before me, he was always adamant that he'd never been in love, not even close. He had even been in a 4 year relationship where he never uttered the words. But he said them to me without prodding or pressure!!!

I try not to visit his myspace... lol... because it makes me crazy. I get smoke coming out of my nose and ears and I just want to scream, lol. But he's flying home later this month SPECIFICALLY to attend a fancy event with me... and I can't wait!!!

I was so worried that he might not accept when I invited him, that I almost didn't even ask him, but he's gone out of his way to come and I can tell he's excited too, hehehe.

He has no idea I'm this obsessed with him, I'm so cool about everything, even the invite... I did it under the guise of introducing him to my friend who is a filmmaker and who can help him with his career... lol... and I was like... we can dress up and it's free booze and food and this is your one chance to meet him and you get to be my date, isn't that fun? LOL!!!

I mean, he knows I have a "soft spot" for him, but... he doesn't know... all this... hehehe. Sometimes he'll say "did you see the flyer for my new show? it's on my myspace" and I'll say "nope.. let me look'.. when I already have it memorized.

I know, I'm a retard

Anyhow, thanks for listening and helping me out with that Selena

Cheers!

Hi Cappy,

I was just about to log out, when I saw your comment.

Well, I know this about Pluto, because my cousin is the Pluto in a "Pluto opposite Venus" synastry picture. And he basically told me this, perhaps not in the words I used above, but the meaning was the same.

Pluto plays games, because, Pluto wants to be in control, and if he "capitulates" to the feelings, it means he lost control, he has no power any more, the power is in another person's hands (or heart), and this is not the game Pluto plays.

I think that the person has to be extremely self aware of their actions and motivations to be able to "dive in", without the fear, but not many people are so evolved.

They, in fact torture themselves, in addition to their partner, because Pluto feels deeply and forcefully, but god forbid if he admitted that to anyone, the least to the object of their affection. Because the control and power urge is as strong as their emotion, perhaps stronger, so they keep playing this fruitless game, and they usually loose at the end. Not always, sometimes they "wake up" before it is too late, but often, unfortunatelly, it is too late. Much depends on the maturity and self-knowledge of each individual person.
Now, I am really going, Ciao all, S.

Screw what they say, seriously...sometimes some aspects are off, because there are OTHER MORE POWERFUL ones in play, like they say if someone's sun is in your 11th house, youll be instant friends but they might only see you as a friend, and only that...but WHAT IF YOUR VENUS is in their 8th house? thats very strong aspect, you cant erase the effect it has because one aspect says "OH JUST FRIENDS"...just my 2 cents...

selena is right. thanks for all
the info selena! next i want

would that also indicate a sense of

YES! vertex conjunction SUN, moon, venus, or mars is a very fated relationship/encounter/etc. THE TIGHTER THE ORB, the better.

Yes, lovegoblin,

In a hurry, I forgot to write Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Asc + Vertex = fatedness.
I can't believe I missed the Sun and the Moon, sorry, sometimes when I hurry I miss some words or letters.

One degree or less is the only allowed orb for Vertex conjunctions (although, I did notice that in many cases it works up to 2 degrees as well).

There are some wonderful articles on the web about Vertex in synastry, just Google it in, but I noticed this prevalence of Vertex + personal planets conjunctions (and often oppositions) in many couples' significant relationsips.

I am going now, but this thread is really addictive!!! Bye

Hello Taurus80,

Your 7th house cusp is Sagittarius, and it begins at 29 degrees Sagittarius, ending at 22 degrees Capricorn.

So if someone's Sun is betwee these degrees Sag and Capricorn, it will fall in your seventh house. Most Capricorns will fall in your seventh, while ones born later in the sign will fall in your eight house.

This is assuming that your time of birth of 10.02 am is correct.

Bye now, S.

Yes,

Lets blow up Pluto!

Actually, I forgot to add, it is not only the power and control the reasons why Pluto plays games.

It is because Pluto feels so deeply, and he has terrible fear of betrayal and loss.
As when he is betrayed or hurt, because his feelings are so strong, it is almost like death to him, he is shattered and gutted to the core, and this is also one of the reasons he finds it hard surrender, because he knows what happens when he loses what he loves the most. It kills him. So when Pluto is in aspect with Venus in synastry, Venus awakens this fear in him, because he senses that, if he falls too deeply, he may get hurt, so he resists it.

Anyway, I have gone too far now, I really have to go now. Like lovegoblin, I haven't done much today, to say the least...but it was enjoyable
