Many astrologers said that Saturn aspects in synastry are the most significant indicators of long-lasting relationship. Do you agree with that? Anyway, can anyone share your own experience what aspects you find most in long-lasting couples? Or do you find any aspects in composite chart that indicate long-term relationship? What do you think of the following aspects? -Venus trine Saturn double whammies -Sun trine Saturn double whammies -Moon trine Saturn in composite Alisa

Alisa,I find Saturn aspects in both synastry and composite usually indicate a glue or cement in a relationship. But don't forget Saturn reflects and demands a seriousness and working--it's about responsibility. In stress aspects it can also serve as a "cooler" in a relationship, maybe a long term or serious relationship but nonetheless a cooled one. It can repress joy in the name of slogging through towards lessons. LOL.... Where is Saturn in the synastry? BTW -I have a Venus Trine Saturn in my natal and with many loved ones. It seems to add a gentility and quiet staidness to things. IP: Logged |

I would say any Saturn conections, definitely. I've tested the theory on lasting realtionships NEEDING Saturn, and so far, none have broken the rule.I also think Venus-Moon and Sun-Moon sextiles and trines (etc) show great love and affection. Especially the double whammies. IP: Logged |

VDM - Would you say that orbs make a great deal of differnce there, or would just general in-sign stuff work?(My Moon's pretty much exactly conjunct my husband's Sun, but our Venus/Moon stuff's a bit wider - His Taurus Moon's very close to my Venus/Chiron/Eros group, but my Moon's kinda far away from his later-degree Aqua Venus.) Or, as some say, does it only matter if ya feel it Hmmmm. *gets curious*
As far as Saturn goes, the only really apparent contact mine makes w/ his chart is where it's trouncing (squaring) his Neptune; his Saturn/Pluto conjunction's sextiling my Mars/Jupiter/NN stellium, opposing my Venus (ouch), and squaring my Moon (ouch again ). Hm, interesting - my aforementioned Mars/Jupiter/NN stellium's making contacts all over his chart. (A by-degree trining of his Moon, Opposing of his Sun, Trining of his Neptune, Squaring of his Uranus/Jupiter combo, and, as I said, sextiling his Pluto/Saturn. IP: Logged |

Also, Alisa, what do you define as long-lasting?We've been married for going-on 3 years (forever to, say, a teenager), but we're newbies compared to people who've been married through raising a couple of kids, etc. Annnyway, here's our charts if anyone's interested (or would like to give their 2 cents ): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v250/proxieme/Synastry.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v250/proxieme/OurDavison.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v250/proxieme/OurComposite.jpg IP: Logged |

Saturn can signify long-lasting relationships, but due to the sobering nature of Saturn, it can be more like a burden than a joy. Have you ever seen an old couple where the man and woman have resigned themselves to each other's presence? From my understanding, well aspected Neptune provides long lasting HAPPY relationships. Neptune gives the necessary glamor and romanticism to make long lasting relationship feel new even when they're old. The old man who looks at his wife and thinks she is as beautiful now as when she was 20 must definitely share with her some strong neptunian connection. People who still love and adore each other in spite of their flaws share a strong neptunian connection. IP: Logged |

Also, don't forget Pluto. Camilla Parker has Pluto trine Princes Charles' Venus. She has been able to hold on to him through thick and thin. Well aspected Pluto makes for some strong obsession.IP: Logged |

Venus De Milo, what saturn aspects you find strongest? What do you think about Venus/Saturn double whammies? What you ever found these in any couples before?Regarding Pluto, my Venus quindecile his Pluto. His Pluto closely conjunct my Solstic Venus. Regarding Neptune, we have the following Neptune aspects: -Sun square Neptune double whammies -My North Node square his Neptune -My MC conjunct his Neptune -My Neptune square his Venus -My Neptune conjunct his North Node -Neptune trine Chiron double whammies I think there are too many square. Do you think anyone above would be good for long-lasting relationship? We do not have direct Sun/Moon contacts. We only have the following Sun/Moon aspects: -His Sun quindecile my Moon -His Sun quindecile my Sun -His Sun oppose my Sun/Moon midpoint (0 degree orb) -His Sun/Moon midpoint square my ASC and my Mercury -His Sun/Moon midpoint square my Sun/Moon midpoint -His Sun/moon midpoint trine my Venus What do you think? So Venus trine Pluto and Moon sextile Pluto must be good... IP: Logged |
