What can the planets placed in 10th say about the career choice? If the 10th house is vacant, does it show that career is not as much of a priority ?? any insights wud be appreciated, ILWL IP: Logged

23 Knowflake Posts: 250 From: The Strand Registered: Apr 2009	posted December 04, 2006 10:15 PM I imagine because of the number of professions out there, there would be a number of configurations, aspects etc that would be applicable and vary according to profession to give the person the right aptitude for the profesion. It also depends as to what you define as successful, happiness in the profession that you are in, fame or money or sense of a achievement? There's just too many to think of. I would say that something like Jupiter in the 10th would be good for everyone. I'd say that no planets in the 10th does not show the likelihood of career success. Any planets in the 10th just shows was preoccupation the person has with in the career/public field or how there is not much modification to the MC (regardless if conj to MC or just being simply present in the 10th). BUT, the problem is that i am a very 'people' person. its hard to explain, but if i take the Jung test, my profile comes out to be that of INFJ...that is introvert, intuitive, feeling, judgemental. this is the ideal profile for a counselor, and that is what i really identify with too. in real life, i hv people coming up to me for advice ALL the time. and i love to teach. However, the job of a teacher seems very dead end to me. i guess tht can be attributed to my Aries MC. so wht other career options cud be good for me? cud i be successful as a technical manager, for instance? here's my chart IP: Logged

I'm not good for astrological analysis for others yet, but I can relate it when you said that you are "people" person.. Relationships with others are very important, and INFJ needs to feel needed and capable of helping others.. when anything happens, they try to smooth everything without too much turbulence.. they always want to keep the peace, so they avoid fights.. do you feel like this also? XD Maybe INFJ are more relationship oriented than carreer.. but maybe jobs that requires good analyzing skills, and also good sense of diplomacy, and also humanitarian jobs in which you can help others? Maybe being a teacher is bored as you might prefer to help a person spiritually/emotionally, and teach them something that is very insightful for and inspiring in life? And if someone can apply the knowledge they aquire from you it would even be better? In my case, I have an 8th house Aries stellium with Sun, Moon, Venus, Mercury and some other asteroids in it.. no matter how distant or shy I am with strangers, once a strong bond is formed, I'm very affected by these relationships.. ^_^; and I dig into depths of these relationships.. everything in an intense and over passionate way lol.. I want like to feel needed and appreciated, and if someone that I come to admire and this person acknowledges my skills and power, then I would really be happy and hard work for him/her lol (for example, a very admireable boss XD ).. If I were to guess what you mean by Technical Manager I'd think you were talking about consulting. People would come to you to ask how to do things in your area of expertise. Is that correct? If so, I don't see any reason why you couldn't. What I see in your chart is your Air Grand Trine. And if someone can apply the knowledge they aquire from you it would even be better? unfortunately it is too late for me to totally change tracks...i am doing a phd in an engineering discipline. i cud become a professor.....teaching wud be great....but i think i lack that kind of motivation to do research that comes as part of the package ! i was wondering if i shud think about becoming a manager....that ways i wud be more in direct contact with people....darn!! why didnt i take the jung test whn i was a teenager!! i have 3 planets in my 7th house...and i feel that i am at my best in one-on-one interactions with people. not so good in group situations where i tend to recede into the background. i like to bounce ideas off people, indeed i discover a lot of things abt myself in close interactions with others...facets of myself tht i didnt think existed....i work much better in a team than alone. i tend to get into a rut and lose motivation working alone. absolutely need to have ppl around me, whether its work or personal life. Hi AG, i am a mechanical engineer...did my undergrad in India from one of the top colleges. Right now i am doing a phd in same. by technical manager i mean that I can join a company working in my area of expertise, and aim to become a manager there. another option is entrepreneurship...ie, i start my own company if i can come up with a creative idea and convince someone to finance it. I want to make it BIG. make an impact. precisely wht u said abt sun sq MC. 2. i want to make BIG money (ahhh...the cappy lust for money surfaces at last), and make it FAST (the aries MC i guess) 3. i don't like to work under people. as in, can never do sth someone tells me blindly. or in a shoddy way. like to go deep into things. 4. like to work with people. best in a small team of people. some of my best ideas come to me in discussion with others. 5. can empathise with people, but never ever be dishonest or fake something. for eg, if i don't like someone, its next to impossible for me to be all pally with them. ideally i'd like to be able to choose the people i work with :P 6. am a very idealistic, dreamy (and i fear unrealistic) person. an INFJ... i wish i was a psychiatrist, but i am not. wht is the next best option for me considering all of the points 1-6. ? manager? entrepreneur? writer? teacher? I saw that you said you have 3 planets in the 7th, but I don't see that in your chart. I also have three planets in my 7th (Mercury, Venus, and Neptune). Mechanical Engineer sounds great to me! I'd love to create things from nothing. You should make me a robot! With that background, you can do lots of social things. Every business seems to have ways that you can be social. With True Node in Leo your lesson for this life is actually to disassociate with people to a higher degree, and find the value in yourself. Communications is a good route for you. You're most lucky/fortunate when you act Libran in the 3rd (Jupiter). IP: Logged

Also 8th house cusp is Aqu, which goes nice with investigation and science and things like that. Jupiter is in teh 3rd (ruler of 6th), so you would have a knack of communicating as well as making it fun and personal - venus/sun in 6th. With third house ruled by virgo, it would give you the critical facilities to be a teacher and saturn conj jup in 3rd would give you the "authority" to be a teacher. Uranus in 5th and being in 8th shows a love of scientific pursuits or anything that is new, innovative, techological. Kids would love it. Also with Aries MC, you want to be the conquerer - to be no. 1 With Leo on 2nd house cusp - you certainly want to show the rest of the world about it. IP: Logged

Now I feel a bit lonely and harder to study lol.. T_T Btw, I'm also into engineer.. :P Computer Engineering lol.. I also prefer to work with a small group, and can't really accept to be under someone that is not good enough in my eyes and that doesn't justify the orders lol.. But I don't feel like being on top of the tops, as I don't have that much of ambition.. ^_^; I prefer to be the assistant/helper of the person in this position lool (maybe coz of my Virgo ascendant?). I can't work without relating even a bit emotionally with others thought, even if we can just be friends.. as I'm bad at superficial relating.. >_<; I've always dreamt to have a job in which the group of people I come to work with would be my 2nd family lool.. but maybe that's just to idealistic..
