I think it would be significant. I have this with my boyfriend.... we never run out of things to talk about, but we definitely have different viewpoints sometimes. But I didn't think it was possible to have it in a composite chart?? Mercury is close to the sun so it can't really be opposing it.IP: Logged |

Hi T80 I don't think Sun opp Merc in synastry is a "bad" thing -- here's one interp: Sun Opposition Mercury: Lively exchanges of ideas are common between the two of you. Fortunately, you understand each other well, but unfortunately you sometimes have opposite opinions and perspectives on an issue. Despite your differences, you work together very well in practical matters, planning, organizing, developing or communicating ideas, and your differing viewpoints are not likely to be a serious problem. I like the energy/tension of Solar and Mercurial oppositions (the square might be more of an issue) -- I think it puts an edge of excitement on communication-interaction. And wouldn't it be boring to be with someone day in and day out who thought exactly the same as you do about everything?!? I thrive on new ideas, and new twists on my opinions/attitudes Zala IP: Logged |

hmmm...personally I don't think it's a 'bad' thing at all; it's really how you choose to approach the situation.Personally, consider me a little biased, because I currently have this aspect (sun opposite mercury, double whammy and in composite chart) with a guy I reaaally like, heh. He has Sun, Venus, and Mars in Virgo (plus a Gemini moon). So, hopefully he would be positively stimulated by the 'exciting' conversations; I certainly would be! ------------------ 'Virgo Ascendant, Libra Moon, Aries Sun' "Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense". - Buddha IP: Logged |

I have the same thing in our synastry (double whammies) and in composite too. YES "we never run out of things to talk about either". It is lively exchange of ideas. For us, most of the time, we have same ideas. We understand each other very very well.IP: Logged |
