My only text on quindeciles are Ricki Reeves' definitions. Here is a Mars-Pluto quindecile in a natal-"Mars (the application of energy in the form of action) quindecile Pluto (empowerment or disempowerment through perspectives)- May be driven toward power, domination, greed, and possessiveness. May demonstrate sexual dominance and aggressiveness. May be ruthless and manipulative to attain power and control. Benefit comes through the power of physical action in one's life. May use one's powerful perspectives to make societal changes." IP: Logged |

Bullhead, I am referring to Quindecile - 24° quote: as traditionally the Quindecile is a minor 24 degree aspect, but Noel Tyl and his students are using the name for the 165 degree aspect. A few astrologers in Europe use the term Tao for the 165 degree aspect, but Quindecile is more descriptive as the 24th harmonic divides the circle into 15 degree intervals. The 165 degree aspect has been found to correspond to disruptions and obsessive determination. Noel Tyl's article on 'Minor Measurements, Major Meanings' appeared in issue #76 Dec/Jan 1997/98 of the Mountain Astrologer magazine. The discussion of the Quindecile can be found at Noel Tyl's web site. http://www.noeltyl.com/techniques/990801.html His student Basil Fearrington's article 'Obsessing with the "QUIN-DEH-CHEE-LAY"' appeared in vol. 66, no. 6, June 2000 of Dell Horoscope. The research by Al H. Morrison and Zane Stein on the 165 degree aspect appeared in Stein's book, Essence and Application: A View from Chiron, first published in 1985.

Ummm... "Quin" is 5 and "Decile" is 10, together 15.I've never heard about any "old definition" of Quindecile... equaling 24 degrees... 360/24=15. So the 15th Harmonic... the terminology certainly makes sense. Whatever it is called, the 165 degree aspect is the obsession/compulsion. Seems that a Quindecile should equal 24 degrees... I read it was 165 degrees from the Llewellyn books... maybe those people over at Llewellyn Publishing are trying to rewrite the art form. ...hmmm... who knows... PS: I bought a copy of "Horoscope As Identity" by Noel Tyl at a used book store, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that he personally inscribed this copy. IP: Logged |

At Clairvision.com the quindecile is expressed as 24 degrees. I have for the 24 degree quindecile.... Mercury (Sco 28°57') North Node (Sco 03°23') wax. sep. quindecile (24°00') orb: 1°34' Mars (Sco 26°32') North Node (Sco 03°23') wax. app. quindecile (24°00') orb: 0°52' Jupiter (Tau 26°26') South Node (Tau 03°23') wax. sep. quindecile (24°00') orb: 0°58' Uranus (Sco 08°30') Pluto (Lib 13°09') wax. sep. quindecile (24°00') orb: 1°21'
Neptune (Sag 12°58') Vertex (Sco 17°03') wan. app. quindecile (24°00') orb: 1°55' and then I have for the 165' quindecile(these are from another chart I have)
Jupiter Taurus Rx quindecile Neptune Sagittarius Neptune Sagittarius quindecile Ascendant Gemini 29'30 I'm wondering what the difference is? One is subtly creative while the other is strongly obsessive perhaps? ------------------ "The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart” `Helen Keller quotes IP: Logged |
