Yes in Paul 's book they are listed as one of the only couples who really seem to have been together and gotten together not involving any progression but more like love sure and simple...Is the conjunction between a personal planet and someone's ascendant that strong? IP: Logged |

Sorry, yes, it was Sun-ASC. Well, Paul said himself that it only works in about 80% of the cases for conventional relationships.
There are of course relationships that also get formed during Venus-mars-square or similiar aspects (often they are pretty stormy, passionate and somewhat dysfunctional); it also depends on what you expect to find in a relationship and are looking out for. Apart from that I have to repeat, with the adding of the angles (ASC as Mars-point, DSC as Venus-point), I havenīt seen it fail even once. I mean: every relationship that came into existence had at least one of these aspects during their beginning.
And yes, personal planets to ASC are THAT important.
ALSO, this theory doesn`t say anything about the likeness of a lasting relationship; it just states that certain aspects are usually / often present when a relationship begins. That`s all.

DD hope this isn't too far off-topic. i noticed your question in IQ's ?? thread about bride-groom asteroids...the closest i found to bride was briede - is that what you use or is there an actual bride asteroid?IP: Logged |

Yes, it`s the one we use. Asteroids, that have a "close" sound, seem to work like the actual word, too.Yet, I have noticed far stronger patterns with Groom and Boda, than aspects to Briede, even if they are present. EDIT: I`m still not completely sure which meaning and significance these "two rocks in space" actually have. IP: Logged |

well briede seems to fit well in my chart - it's conjunct my ex husbands sun and opposite that of someone else - and groom conjuncts both their jupiters (ex hubby's pretty wide really) and my vesta......... does boda have mythological significance of some kind? doesn't ring a bell for me!IP: Logged |

Hey DD,thanks for your input, yeah I've read about the paul mccartney and linda love story quite unbelievable they were attached at the hips. Now talking of squares between lovers Ava Gardner and Frank Sinatra...dysfunctional.

Yes, those two really were dysfunctional. Well, there are other reasons Paul and LInda were so close; I think if I remember it right they had strong aspects between important houserulers.

I once tried to have a normal relationship with a guy with whom the synastry was fantastic. But in natal I have venus opposition mars, it really bored me after two weeks. I ended it. I think i'm much more prone to being attracted to dysfunctional sh..! :-( i'm going to try and post their synastry (paul and linda).

Woah City, transits were not part of Westran`s study. BUT personally I think transits may be the exact timers. The progressions will be valid for quite some time, and maybe transits show the most likely moments for a relationship to occur. I haven`t researched that though. IP: Logged |

Additionally, Paul was born on the 18th, ruled by Mars, and Linda was born on the 24th, ruled by Venus. Classic Male-Female dynamic. They were connected on many different levels. IP: Logged |

I have just discovered this thread, (so I haven't read everyone's posts) ... Can we include the Moon?.... The progressed Moon aspecting the other's natal ascendant for example. In my case my ascendant is Libra though, maybe that has Venus influence.IP: Logged |

Paul Westran didn`t include Moon-aspects. I guess mainly because the birthtime was not certain in some cases.Another reason could be that Moon might relate more to an emotional connection, but not necessarily a romantic relation. IP: Logged |

In my own experience I tend to attract a lot of pMoon in Gemini (my Sun) & pMoon in Virgo (my ascendant) I say yes, the moon is indicative of bringing people together. IP: Logged |

I read on Westran's site that he does include moon only when he is certain of birthtime. 8th IP: Logged |
