Hi, can anyone tell me the effects of constant parallel/aspect pairing in synastry? Where you have Moon conjunction Venus and Venus parallel Moon, especially parallels to the ascendant. Like Moon parallel ascendant or Jupiter parallel ascendant? Are these really karmic? I've googled it alot and all I get is about Magi astrology(Cafeastrology has the basics)...------------------ Sun in Libra Moon in Cancer Jupiter in Cancer Venus in Virgo Mars in Cancer Ascendant in Cancer I "FEEL" therefor I am IP: Logged |

I'm interested, too. I read them like conjunctions and they made a lot of sense, but I don't know if they're karmic or not... Btw... check parallels to the house cusps and read the planet as if it were in that house (house overlays, I mean). Tell me what you think. Izo IP: Logged |

hi libraschoice, A quick post - this one - as I am still down with a cold and a fever. Parallels are VERY powerful, don't be misled into thinking they aren't especially if the orb is close to 0min arc. Also, a conjunction between two planets that are parallel each other is called a bilevel aspect and is awesome in its influence. The magi have been using parallels and contraparallels (they're pretty much the same except when they're made by Saturn, in which case a c-parallel made by saturn could act like an opposition or a square) for a while now and I can tell you from my own experience in both synastry and natal charts, that they're no different from longitudinal aspects in terms of how they affect you or the relationship. You just have to be careful about the orb -- 1.2 degrees for single aspects, MAYBE be 1.3 for multiple planet ones. The Magi say that the venus-moon interaspect between people is very romantic and tender with the feeling - the FEELING - that this is the right person for them. (but it ain't always the truth, it's just that the moon-venus can bring in that feeling) So does that help a bit? any more questions, just post. (where is glaucus anyway? I haven't seen one of his posts in a while here) Ciao, Tara. IP: Logged |

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions I know there's not to many people familiar with Parallels when it come to synastry. I read on Magi astrology that having Venus parallel Pluto or Venus parallel Mars in synastry with someone is considered super sexual linkages(but of course with them I only read so much into them)...Glaucus hasn't posted for along time, I think he left the board.------------------ Sun in Libra Moon in Cancer Jupiter in Cancer Venus in Virgo Mars in Cancer Ascendant in Cancer I "FEEL" therefor I am IP: Logged |

please explain parallels and contra-parallels as if you're doing 'astrology for dummies'! Surely they are just conjunctions and opposites no? - what am I missing here? IP: Logged |

Cat71, I am kind of in the dark myself about this topic, all I know is what I've read from the Magi site...------------------ Sun in Libra Moon in Cancer Jupiter in Cancer Venus in Virgo Mars in Cancer Ascendant in Cancer I "FEEL" therefor I am IP: Logged |

Hi cat71, This is the best (illustrated) and simplest explanation "for dummies" I've found online for declinations: http://www.physics.csbsju.edu/astro/CS/CS.11.html If you want to investigate it further, try the late K T Boehrer's (aka The Declination Lady) site at: http://www.mandala.be/declination/boehrer1.htm Tara. That's a cool link #2(the info was more complete), my adventures would come from my natal Mars parallel Jupiter...I have a bunch of parallels in synastry with this one guy I've known, most involve Venus/Mars/Pluto. Shouldn't we be tearing each others clothes off and acting like silly bunnies(Magi claims we should) ------------------ Sun in Libra Moon in Cancer Jupiter in Cancer Venus in Virgo Mars in Cancer Ascendant in Cancer I "FEEL" therefor I am IP: Logged |

Ive been studying parallels for several months and I find them to be significantly weaker versions of conjunctions and oppositions. They are also more internal. More likely to manifest as feelings or states than events. I dont think they can trigger an event. They also occur much more often than longitude aspects which leads to me to think they are less significant. IP: Logged |
