According to Astrodienst, I'm currently in this phase (correct term?). Can anybody help me further understand this? It sounds quite negative, but I know that these things are neutral, however, I don't understand how to interpret this. How does it affect me? Do other aspects make it stronger or weaker?

Just curious. Sometimes the descriptions of aspects scare me even though, like I said, I know it's about how to behave with them.

Thanks in advance to anybody who can shed a bit of light onto this,
Zelda

Zelda, in her recent "Weekly Weather" posts, Ann Ortelee (http://www.anneortelee.com/) has written a lot of good stuff about "doing your Saturn", i.e., looking at where Saturn is in your chart and working to get your life in order in that area. You should check out some of her archives.

Saturn wants you to achieve your potential--so when you meet the challenges of any Saturn transit, by REALLY being true to yourself, honest, and conscientious in the Saturn-touched area of your life, you see greater rewards than if you'd just coasted on through. Some people, contrary to the scary interpretations of "bad" transits, thrive and grow when they experience intense "task-master" Saturn energy.

This opposition is a tug-of-war between Saturn (who wants you to discipline yourself and get everything in order in your life) and Pluto, who wants you to totally destroy/unmake yourself so you can be transformed. It's likely you'll be more sensitive and less able to "suck it up" when life is awful or unfair or dark or doesn't make sense. The possible reward for working with this transit is a deeper, truer, more whole understanding of yourself and the world.

I haven't checked out the houses in your chart that this transit affects...that would make a huge difference. Basically, whatever house your natal SAturn is in is the area of your life where the tug-of-war will take place.

Thank you so much! You've really helped put it in perspective.

I'll check out Ann Ortelee right after I write this.

My Saturn is in my 11th house. According to North-Node.com, the 11th House means:
[i] Eleventh House: The House of Love Received
FRIENDS, GOALS and WISHES
Detached or impersonal relationships. Humanitarian and philanthropic enterprises. Clubs, groups, organizations and associations. Business connections and spheres of influence. The people who share your ideals. Altruism. The rewards derived from the ambition of the tenth house. [/i

So, I'm not entirely sure I understand Saturn & 11th house yet. If anything, I thought this would be in my house of personal relationships, which I think is the 7th, as I'm finding I have to end a 10 year romance which involves having him move out, and so on.

I find this very interesting and timely as I really do feel I have the energy now to "clean house" in several parts of my life. Also, what you say about Pluto's influence resonates because I think I would have chosen that route when I was younger.

I've been meaning to read more about Saturn and Jupiter so this is a great way to get that accomplished.

Thanks again!

I think I understand. I think I get what the challenge is.

I read this at: Cafe Astrology (http://www.cafeastrology.com/articles/saturninhouses.html)

    quote:
...At the root of this perception, there may be a fear of failure in a group setting. It may be easier to fall back on, and take too much pride in, your uniqueness as an individual rather than submit to the idea that you belong and identify with a group. It can be a fear of being "ordinary" or just part of the crowd that prevents you from loosening up in social situations. The fact that you take friendships more seriously than most can give you a heavy sense of responsibility and reluctance to form ties, as if you somehow sense that forming them will burden or obligate you too much. Staying alone might seem to be a better use of your time. Watch out for this. A deep-seated feeling of loneliness and separateness may be the result...Beyond friendships and groups, the eleventh house is associated with our long-term goals, hopes, and dreams. Saturn here can make you just as reluctant to commit to any one life path, and to articulate or define your innermost wishes, as you are to attach yourself to a group identity. It is as if doing so would be too binding and revealing. When you learn to identify and overcome your fear of failure, you will discover that this fear has been the only thing holding you back from defining and working towards your dreams.

This year I've already been diligently working on expanding my social network and getting past fear of social interactions. I'm returning to college in the fall too. Plus, as I mentioned, I'm having to end at least one major element of my relationship with my partner of 10 years-- no more living together until he gets his personal life together.

    Interesting.

OK, Lucia, thanks for your help. Now I'll go see if I can find anything about the aspect you mentioned in your post .

    Wow, what an odd coincidence.

I was looking through this forum for posts about transiting Pluto in opposition to natal Saturn, and we have many of the same placements, and some similar ones.

I am also a Pisces sun with Leo ascendant, but with a Virgo moon. Saturn is also in my 11th house, but just barely. It's almost in the 12th.

I'm wondering if anyone can follow up on this post, as I can see it's kind of an older one. I would like to learn from your experience.
