I think the best placement for Mars is in Scorpio in the IX house... accidentally, that's mine. LOL no, but really. it's great to have Mars in the IX house - there's always extra energy for learning and also taking a wild trip to the jungle =) one of my friends has Mars in Sag in the 7th and she is very independent regarding partnerships (despite the fact that she's a Libra sun )and also is very argumentative. Definitely not someone you can push around. I agree that Mars in the 12th is not an easy placement. Lots of aggression suppressed. And Mars in the 4th house can bring a lot of quarrells. IP: Logged |

Hi again Angularity http://www.dearbrutus.com/angularity.html Planets conjunct the Nadir symbolize rootedness, conservatism, stability, staying power, firmness. Natives with these planets have an ability to remain unmoved and unruffled, to withstand the pressures of daily living by tuning into deeper currents or meanings in life. While all the angles symbolize a “holding apart” from other people, the Nadir especially symbolizes going it alone. Planets conjunct this angle don’t wait for others, rely on others, or depend on others. There is a spiritual manifestation with this angularity rather than a material one: from the spiritual point of view, the Nadir is actually the most powerful angle, since it is not as tied to the standards of success in society as are the other three angles – it shows a self-validating form of strength IP: Logged |

Interesting.Lots of mars in the 7th. I have mars conjunct the DSC in gemini. Def into debating, have been called argumentative, contentious, willful but also diplomatic and congenial Tend to have the upper hand in relationships but thats prob due to other things like venus in cap/not being into vulnerability or something among other things. The most accurate thing I have seen about this placement is the tendency to need relationships and partnerships for mars to be most activated/the tendency to assert oneself mostly with a partner. Be it in friendship, romantically or professionally. IP: Logged |

I have Mars in the 12th(Taurus)...and yea...I do hold it in,mainly becaused I'm not allowed to express it.(I'm living at home again w/my tyrannical step-dad ) Sometimes I just wanna f***in scream!!!He has told me,and I quote,"We're all happy around here.We don't argue."(referring to him & my Mom)And I'm thinking to myself....anger is just an emotion, neither good or bad.Not being allowed to express it healthfully causes much more damage!I don't know what kind of fantasy world he's living in where people can't ever show anger. My Mom does nothing to help....the reason that they never argue is that she is so passive that she'll go along with anything he says!I used to be a cutter, but I no longer do that.It was just something to do to express the anger I wasn't allowed to show. Now I try writing & it seems to help to some degree when I'm frustrated.(Merc.in Gemini in the 12th I suppose...)Ok...sorry for rambling so much...------------------ S:Taurus ASC:Gemini M:Scorpio ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2007 Solar Return: S:Taurus ASC:Virgo M:Gemini IP: Logged |

Here is a rather accurate description of Mars in the 12th that I found at www.12house.com "Mars in the twelfth house does not easily know what to do. The natural aggression veils itself behind the watery confusion of this house. Natives with this placement may tend to find dissatisfaction with life but have no idea how to assert themselves out of the situation. Many of the actions of this native are motivated by the unconscious making it difficult for them to explain why they did what they did. This placement of Mars can also find the native fighting battles that do not even belong to them because their psychic radar has picked up the rage of someone else. Dreams may have significant meaning to these natives and could serve to help them know their own desires. There is often the need to be alone so that the native can sort out their inner world. In the negative, you can be unconscious of your motives, passive aggressive, and self-effacing. In the positive, you have tremendous passion, can support anyone who needs it and can understand the workings of your unconscious with small effort. You share this placement with David Bowie, John Carpenter, Bo Derek, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Mick Jagger, Yoko Ono, Roseanne Barr, Brooke Sheilds, Tom Snyde and Oliver Stone" And a description for Mars in the 7th,since there are so many of yall here...
"Mars in the seventh house points to individuals who have a strong urge to gain identity and power through their relationships. This position of Mars can inspire the native to work in collaboration with others though competition is a likely component in the relationship. There can be a tendency for arguments as simply a way of life. Sometimes the Mars in the seventh person will attract someone else to act out their own hostilities forcing the Mars person to become weak and victimized. Freedom is important with this placement as long as it is in the context of the relationship, otherwise the native will feel oppressed and controlled. Mars here makes for a good lawyer; someone who can objectively see both sides of a story and passionately defends the side they believe in. In the negative, this Mars can make you overbearing, hostile, and unable to commit. In the positive, this Mars can make for a good friend and defender, as well as an inspired ally when you need it. You share this placement with Maya Angelou, Diamond Jim Brady, Charles Chaplin, Kevin Costner, Bette Davis, Albert Einstein, Michael J. Fox, Adolph Hitler, Anjelica Houston and Tina Turner." WORST: Mine! Its Mars in Cancer, in the 7th house, intercepted.I basically feel my Mars has been stolen from me since I was born lol. I have no drive or ambitions. I honestly feel I dont have much, if any Mars working in my chart. I feel other people have all the energy. I also feel they suck the energy away from me when around others. Nvm, that the men I picked all turn out to be Mars-filled dickheads haha garrrr I hate my Mars. *sniffles

I have the same placement. I can come across very aggressive at times, it always takes a while for it to build up then I just blow!! Not sure how I feel about this placement in my career, however it could be worse. IP: Logged |

Mars in 12th house sometimes is a good thing to have, because it can hide anger when you should hide it because the situation doesn't allow you to show it as I have moon in fiery Aries. When you want to get all of your anger out after some times, you can choose when the time to explode and surprising the person with all of what he/she has done bad. And it can be so powerful (not necessarily should be loud, I used to use raw factual words when explode) to the point the other person starts realizing/shocks that he/she has bad attitude or treat me wrong and should face a reality whether he/she needs to avoid me after that or should not try to test my patience if wants to keep peace with me. Although sometimes I always feel bad after releasing anger as I don't like being angry, it wastes my energy so much that at the end of the day, I should need a lot of sleep, while my fiery Moon and Mars do not like if I take a lot of rest. They always wants to move. Mars in Sagittarius, 12th house. IP: Logged |

I have Mars in Aries IN the 4th house lol. I was a pretty angry, rebellious kid and only got slapped or hit a few times, but never beaten. Fights resulted in shouting then ignoring my dad for weeks until we made up only to get angry at each other and start ignoring one another again. Now, I love my family and we always go out together if my parents aren't working and I'm able to come home for the weekend. IP: Logged |

I have both venus and saturn conjunct the IC all within a degree and this resonates strongly. They are in Aries so I have always felt that arian energy. Back to the OP question...I have mars in Sag in the 11th house conjunct Neptune which is in the 10th (4 deg orb)...It certainly chills me out a bit...I like the sag energy.
