Hey all,I picked up mum's old copy of Penny Thornton's Synastry book, flipped through and found a bit on moon in 7th house. (Which is what I have.A Leo moon) It depressed me! it said that its a difficult placement to have it in (though I did some internet research before writing this) and most say it is a pleasing placement. Thornton's said there could be delays in relationahips and everything is about the emotional part of the relationship. I know its easy to dismiss something cause it isnt what you want to hear but i wondered if anyone could help me out on this one. Sparkling IP: Logged |

I have my moon in the 7th house too (in Cancer...Venus and Saturn are also in that house and sign.)A lot depends on how your moon is aspected and how it relates to other planets and houses. Someone with a Leo moon in the 7th house that's trine the Sun and Jupiter will have a very different "moon story" than someone with a Leo moon in the 7th house squared Saturn and Mars, for example. All of those different aspects help determine whether you'll experience that moon placement as pleasant and pleasurable or uncomfortable and challenging, in relation to the rest of your chart and life. It takes a very skilled astrologer to read a whole chart well...a lot of the stuff I've found online isn't really helpful or detailed enough. I'd like to read the book you mentioned. IP: Logged |

Good comment Lucia! The most important factor about the seventh house and any planets in it, is that it is the "not me" house---being opposite of the first or "me" house. This Moon placement usually means one of two things: Either you think that you are not like your mother, or you do not want to be like her. In some way, mother is at odds with "me". See? For a female that can color the whole chart because the Moon is a major part of our gender-model. It also emphasizes the tendency to "marry your mother" meaning that we are attracted to those who psychologically resemble her. This latter is the dynamic of "chemistry." In one way or another, you will have to make peace with this. One way is to realize that you do inherit part of your genes from Mom, but that does not mean that you have to use these qualities in the same way that she does. More mundanely, should you have children, you can be a different kind of mother than she was. Or, if not, you can use your "mothering capacity" to care for "children in consciousness" or your own inner child. In one way or another, you almost certainly need to mother yourself--meaning take care of you. ------------------ You are a blessing and you are blessed. Rev. SS, Penny Thornton to me comes across as a bit of a doom-monger, misery-guts, grumbleweed, whatever you like to call it. Personally I'm not over-keen on her online forecasts - they always leave me feeling a bit down. Interesting someone else should mention feeling the same way. Although I haven't seen anything on placements from him, I find Frank Pilkington a great predictive astrologer, and he blends the psychic side with it as well. I also like this month's forecast from Rose? on Madalyn Aslan's site. I used to wish I had Moon or Sun in 7th (or something at least) - thought it would'a made me better at relationships. I hated my planets in the 6th 'cos apparently it emphasizes service to others (which I hate). B*ll*cks. Remember, there are never any right or wrong placements. Virgo, which rules the 6th, does indeed rule service to others - but it also rules fashion and craftsmanship, a career in which, I am now pursuing. Don't take these things too seriously, and don't let yourself get depressed by other people!! Love, Xena IP: Logged |

Hey, thank you for your replies. Okay, so a moon in seventh house is not so bad then? Would it help if i posted my info. I am a little clueless on the meaning of houses etc. I found Peny Thornton to be a little negative...but others may enjoy her book. So am I right in thinking this is a good placement for relationships? I dont think im very good at them. Or I pick guys who end up leaving(normaly cause im attracted to international foreign men). anyways, thanks for your insights.
