I have my Sun in my 2nd house. I noticed recently that my 2nd house Sun buddies & I all seem to be heavily influenced by that house. I've read the 2nd house described as the place where we use our possessions to express our self. I don't think of this as just possessions in the material sense. Sure, it applies to monetary capital, but also to whatever talents we possess. The most basic & important capital we all possess is our self-will. The way we use our possessions--money, talent, our will--reveals our self, but it also creates our self. The 2nd house is the place where we make something of ourselves. It's where we give solid, deliberate form to our self. Our choices express & strengthen some parts of our self; deny & weaken other parts. The 2nd house doesn't highly value possessions. "He who dies with the most toys wins" is not the philosophy of a healthy 2nd house. Possessions in & of themselves mean little to the 2nd house. They're merely the means by which people express who they are. This outlook is something I noticed that I share with all my Sun in the 2nd house friends. I'm not saying that people with other sun placements don't think in this way. I'm sure many do. But with myself, & others I know with this placement, it's a hyper awareness. It's one of the fundamental building blocks of our worldview. One of the ways this plays out is that I understand people's behavior--since behavior is using our "will"--as revealing their values. I have almost an obsession with not allowing someone else's behavior to have too large an infuence on how I behave. When someone acts like a jerk or treats others in a horrible way, I understand that she's expressing who she is. She's revealing her own values. I usually refuse to let someone else's behavior manipulate me into acting in a way that isn't true to who I actually I am. When I become a reactor rather than an act-or, I consider it a lack of integrity. That I've failed in being myself. I noticed that my 2nd house Sun friends are all very much the same way. So I was wondering in which house all of you have your Sun & how its placement has impacted you? No need for a treatise , but feel free if you're so inclined. I'm just really curious about how other houses affect people. IP: Logged |

My Sun lives in the 12th house(Can't you see how happy I am with that?!?) At least He isn't lonely though....Mars,Mercury,Venus, & Chiron are all just chillin with Him in my Subconscious, tryin to figure out what the h*** they are all supposed to be doing.Everything has a tendancy to get kinda hazy/crazy in House 12...kinda like a loud,smoke-filled bar where They've all had a few too many drinks. Here's how I see it going down in my 12th house(Taurus/Gemini)...The Sun is the guy doin drunken karaoke & trying to steal the spotlight.Mars & Mercury are involved in a fist-fight because Mercury said somethin He shouldn't have and now all Mars wants to do is knock Mercury the f*** out!!Plus, they are both tryin to win the heart of the ever lonely Ms.Venus....Mercury is trying to sweet-talk Her,while Mars is trying to impress Her with His macho display of masculinity.Venus is finishing off the last of a bottle of cheap wine & crying over yet another heartache, while Mr. Chiron listens carefully, trying decide whether he should heal Ms. Venus' heartache,or just inflict a little more pain.... ~sigh~ gotta love the 12th house... ------------------ S:Taurus ASC:Gemini M:Scorpio ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Be Kinder Than Necessary,For Everyone You Meet Is Fighting Some Kind of Battle..." Idk, somehow it always points to ALWAYS needing to be in a relationship, but I certainly wasn't like that in the past. I'm in this one now because I want to.*edited to add* I think always needing to be in a relationship would be more accurate for someone with the moon in the 7th as the moon is our needs.I find when they use it to decribe 'what type of partner I attract' with a little more accurate. NAM...just a guess, but I'd say you NEED relationships(not all necessarily romantic...just relationships in general...),both the core of your being(Sun),and emotionaly(Moon). Also, communication(Mercury) will be important in those relationships. While I don't have the Sun in the 7th,I have Neptune there, and am constantly trying so hard NOT to feel the need to be in a relationship to be happy.I know that I should learn to let go of that need and just be happy with myself, regardless of whether I have a man or not,but it is so difficult....------------------ S:Taurus ASC:Gemini M:Scorpio ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Be Kinder Than Necessary,For Everyone You Meet Is Fighting Some Kind of Battle..." Well that is my main focus right now , but I was never really this way before in fact I was always proud of the fact of being so independent, anyone that knows me will tell you the same, cold and independent. IP: Logged |

Oh forgot!point is that , if this is what my astrological chart is saying shouldn't have I been always this way? but I never was, even with my first husband , his mom said to my face one day how much she knew we loved each other in different levels, trying to tell me he loved me more I did him, i thought that was nonsense, she was right. I read somewhere else that we start living our charts when we are in our 30's and really truely doing what we are suppose to lok for at that time...This was on an article about the Nodes of the moon and past lifes and current ones. Hmmmm...... I don't like this...am I going to be this dependent of someone that doesn't exist? sh*t! IP: Logged |

I am an aquarius with sun in the 2nd and definitely relate to what was said above. I feel much more centered than the typical aquarius. The second house has more to do with self as a resource/groundedness, having a strong center and sense of being much more than the poessessions/financial stuff you hear most often about it. I have seen the same be true for mature tauruses and north node taurus. The actualized venus aspect of taurus has more to do with knowing what is valuable and what isnt and very firmly connecting to that than the indulgence in sensuality that is often ascribed to this sign in its less mature incarnations.I think house placement of the sun and moon are about as important as what sign the sun or moon are in. As you move further out planetwise, house placement and aspect become much more important. The sign designation becomes incidental, a subtle flavor in how an energy is manifest. IP: Logged |

Libra Sun in the second house.I will not lie; Creating a secure future for myself has been a defining driving force in my life. Its either been career, or studies or learning and experiencing everything life can offer; and most of it did revolve around materialistic related experiences (i.e. Travelling, etc.) However, when it comes to partnerships, I have never seen anyone whose been with me as a possesion. Quite the opposite actually; I have always believed that they have every right to live their lives as freely and openly as I would mine. Well my second house Sun has been good to me. I have a solid good paying Job, An above average crib Lol! And safe to say I ahve tackled quite a lot of different experiences. But I ain't stopping now; Not while there is a whole wold's worth of experiences left.

My Sun's in your mom's house. No, actually my Sun is in the 8th house, so everyone feel free to give me your money to manage. This placement is good for penetrating the human psyche I believe. It also makes 8th house issues like power, death, sex, and the occult fascinations of mine. IP: Logged |

Very interesting thread!! I really enjoyed reading everyones sun =)My sun lives in my 6th house. And it's believed that this is the house is of work, service, routine, health. Well I've never worked in my life, so far, I'm studying. But I don't intend to be consume by my work. Actually I love chilling and having fun more than working (maybe thats venus in leo in the 6th house aswell Lazyyy. About service and helping others, I'm always willing to lend a hand whole-heartedly. Now, talking about health, I'm a total freak!!. It's extremely important for me to have all this very healthy routine. I eat healthy food-I've even become a Vegan. And of course making exercise in a daily base.

My 2nd house Sun experience has been similar to Xodian. I am a very goal oriented person and part of my goals was to have a good paying job so i can live a better life than my parents provided for me growing up. I own a home that is larger than i need and own more clothes than neccessary. Can be frugal when needed but enjoying life to me is living it to the fullest. My Sun is in Pisces intercepted in the 2nd house. Mercury is close by in 2nd house in Aquarius.

My Sun is in the 8th house (Aries) - "Find your own identity, courage and bravery, and always be honest to yourself (Aries lessons) through the matters of relationships, joined resources, death, sex, regeneration, etc. (8th house environment)."Relationships are one of the main concerns for the 8th house (this house is mainly focused on everything that has to do with others), but in a deeper and more "realistic to life" way, comparing to the 7th house. quote: This placement is good for penetrating the human psyche I believe. AcousticGod, I agree with you.. ^_^ Being an 8th houser (with also Moon/Mercury/Venus and some other asteroids - BML there as well), I often found myself digging into people's psychology.. IP: Logged |

My Sun is in Leo in the 8th house...I'm definitely obsessed with delving into other people's psyches, and a lot of my writing and research has been about sex, death and transformation (8th house issues.) I have Mercury and Mars there too.

MoonDreamer - Great analogy! So you live in DMB's "Crush" video with some very interesting characters. AcousticGod - I didn't see that one coming. Well done. Bucketrider - Do you have a Cap asc? I agree about mature Tauruses having that perspective too. It's one of the things that's always drawn me to & helped me relate to that sign. Coral - One of my Sun in the 11th house friends is like you. Everywhere she goes, it's like she's running for mayor. I'm enjoying all of these responses. They're helping me get a better grasp on the houses. IP: Logged |

Mine is Sun in Libra in 4th house, which doesn't help matters. I am constantly torn between wanting to lead a quiet peaceful life with settling down...or being real famous for something probably real silly and outrageous(my overly active Mars in 1st is to thank for this)!------------------ Sun in Libra Moon in Cancer Jupiter in Cancer Venus in Virgo Mars in Cancer Ascendant in Cancer I "FEEL" therefor I am IP: Logged |

Seeing Stars, I also have a Cancer Sun in the 11th house. I agree with Green Fairy, and was especially interested in the part about feeling detached and aloof at the same time as wanting to be part of the group. Never saw it as relating to house placement, but maybe. It's a big conflict for me, and when I was younger I always felt separate no matter how close I wanted to be to a person or group of people.IP: Logged |
