And the fun continues! In our composite chart our Black Lilith conjuncts our IC, 3 degrees and our Moon conjuncts the MC, 3 degrees. Oh brother this all coming at me too much at once, I need to rest my Leo brain...

k, just found this on wiki:

quote:
According to astrologers making use of Lilith in their calculations, understanding and finding Lilith's position in one's natal chart is very important: it helps a person become aware of their "dark side" and will bring self-defeating patterns and unhealthy behavior to light. This is sometimes called the "sensitive point." Lilith is assigned to represent the suppressed "shadow" side of a personality, such as those relating to the memory of negative experiences. Consequently, according to astrologists, acknowledgement of Lilith's influence leads to self-rejuvenation and release.

In a woman's horoscope, Lilith represents which part of life the woman plays a strong role in. Lilith is very evident and dominant in charts of powerful, creative women; those who are quite successful yet vulnerable and sensitive. Many have unconventional relationships.

In a man's chart, Lilith reveals the type of woman he fears and the type that can drive him over the edge, often to despair. The ideal position for Lilith in a male chart has an effect that attracts strong and beautiful women to him.

Lilith is also purported to play a large role in the relationships one encounters, especially intense ones. If Lilith is making a heavy transit in the love section of one's chart when one is beginning a relationship, the liaison will eventually become painful, intense and obsessive. Those under its effect may also feel some sort of unhappiness or even agony when Lilith hits other positions in their chart.

Mine's in Pisces. Maybe that's why I have such a problem with them.

By sign/house/aspect/all of them? So for example any conjunction or opposition from Lilith to Pluto in a man's chart could mean he is terrified of being dominated by a woman?

quote:
The ideal position for Lilith in a male chart has an effect that attracts strong and beautiful women to him.

In which way would that be indicated? Considering only oppositions and conjunctions are used for Lilith apparently, then surely the only 'good' aspects could involve Jupiter?

Lilith conjunct Ascendant and opposition Venus for a man, for example, would mean what in terms of the interesting Lilith interpretation in the post above mine?

Any ideas?

Wait only conjunctions and oppositions are used to interpret Black Lilith? I only have trines and sextiles to mine...

Another website on it - http://www.aquamoonlight.co.uk/lilith-dark-moon.html

quote:
In astrology, the Dark Moon is representative of the darker side of our nature, the negative side. It is the hidden depths that we know exist yet we prefer not to acknowledge. It is subtle on the surface, yet profound beneath. It is the foundations of our personality and the shocking truth that we often deny and project onto others instead. The refusal to see what is really within ourselves.

quote:
There is another side of the Dark Moon astrologically. Carl G Jung, the famous psychoanalyst described something that he called the "anima". The anima is a man's image of the ideal woman and also the feminine side of his personality. For a woman it is the image of the ideal man and the masculine side of her personality. So the dark moon in a birthchart will represent these ideals too.

So I desire a Piscean man (or one who has Piscean qualities) and my masculine side (as a Sag Sun, Aqua Moon, and Gem AC) is Piscean???

The Mean Apogee Black Moon Lilith, [h12]
is what we are discussing in this thread

Here is it's Glyph

This is what astro.com offers automatically in its additional objects area..

Black Moon Lilith is not a celestial object but an abstract, geometric point. An ellipse has two focal points: in the case of the Moon’s orbit, the Earth is located at one of the focal points and Black Moon Lilith is considered to be either the other focal point (about 36,000 km from the Earth), or the apogee of the Moon’s orbit, both points lying in the same direction from the Earth.7 Black Moon Lilith is commonly used in mainland Europe, and its use in the US and UK is increasing...

But here are four others, for those that are curious...
h13 Oscillating apogee Black Moon Lilith
also called true BML, this point actually fluctuates a lot, as much as 30 degrees from the mean BML, and it retrogrades often...(It's like the difference between mean node and true node.)
h21 Interpolated Lunar Apogee (Lilith), also called 'Natural Apogee'
h58 Dark Moon Lilith (Waldemath)
1181 Asteroid Lilith
A main-belt asteroid, represented on astrological charts by a glyph of an upturned hand (right). The asteroid Lilith was discovered in 1927 by Russian-French astronomer Benjamin Jekhowsky and given the provisional designation 1927CQ.
Here is the asteroids glyph

The precise interpretation of these various Liliths differs among different astrologers, but in general Lilith is held to be closely connected with the ‘shadow’ side of the personality.

Lilith is perhaps best understood in contrast to her counterpart, the visible Moon, Luna. Luna receives her self-fulfillment and self-definition through the nurturing of others. Lilith is self-fulfilled and self-defined. Luna represents the visible emotions; Lilith is those emotions which remain hidden or secret. Lilith lives behind-the-scenes, usually undetected. She can be sneaky or deceptive, but she can also indicate our ability to be subtle, to guide and manage events and people without being intrusive. She is our ability to be private, and her placement in the chart will tell you what the native feels most secretive about. As a Moon, Lilith is also associated with mothering, but she is the strength of a mother protecting her cubs. Luna is soft and kind and nurturing. Lilith is strong, a disciplinarian, and will kill any who threaten the well-being of her offspring. Lilith is protective and self-protective.

She protects herself from her own toxic emotions, becoming the guardian of shame, guilt, hatred, vengefulness, bitterness, envy, jealousy. We look for Lilith in our charts to discover which defense mechanisms we employ to hide our wounding.

She is also the femme fatale - the sexually powerful woman. She affects dreams, especially sexual ones, and is an influence in trances, hypnotism, the channeling of entities, interdimensional beings, and possession.

Here is a brief overview of Lilith's placement in the natal charts. As with anything in astrology, her influence must be interpreted within the context of the total chart.

Aries - Lilith in Aries is straight-forward about her sexuality and may use it to feel powerful. Applied in a negative manner, there may be temper tantrums or bratty behavior.

Taurus - Lilith in Taurus may hide money or possessions, and there will be a great deal of secrecy regarding finances. This can also indicate miserliness, or a refusal to share one's resources with others.

Gemini - When Lilith hides herself among the twins, she may exhibit a chameleon-like ability to be whoever she must be at the moment, hiding her true thoughts and feelings. If used improperly, the native may be considered "two-faced" or be a vicious gossip.

Cancer - Hidden emotions may come out in ways that affect the physical health. When expressed in ways that are healthy, Lilith's influence here makes the native a powerful parent, or an activist for the protection of children. When negative, there may be chronic or psychomatic illness, or the tendency toward martyrdom.

Leo - Lilith in Leo wants to be admired, but she'll never admit it. In creative expression, she will do things her own way and never feel obliged to explain herself. Taken to extremes, she becomes the prima donna, demanding and unforgiving.

Virgo - Lilith in Virgo will often make the native very secretive or repressed in their sexual expression, and there will be much attention to hygiene and health-related details. When negative, Lilith in Virgo can be very cold and aloof, or extremely critical of the habits of others.

Libra - Lilith in Libra may find herself concerned with the legalistic side of power. She is a defender of women here, supportive of laws that curtail abuse or sexual crimes. Taken to extremes, Lilith in Libra may be vindictive against those she perceives to be offenders, and in relationships may be clinging, jealous or manipulative.

Scorpio - There are some astrologers who believe that Lilith is the co-ruler of Scorpio, along with Pluto. When placed here, she is powerfully sexual, hypnotic, seductive and wise. When under a negative influence, she can become bitter, vengeful or obsessed.

Sagittarius - Lilith in Sagittarius may hide her emotions beneath a facade of humor or a mask of "niceness." She may keep her personal philosophies secret from others, keeping her own counsel. In the negative, this placement can indicate haughtiness, self-righteousness, and prejudice.

Capricorn - Lilith in Capricorn will hardly ever share any emotions, and these natives may seem unapproachable. Achievement and status will be the method employed to feed the hidden need for emotional contact. At its extremes, here is the anal retentive who must control everything.

Aquarius - Lilith in Aquarius will probably mask the hidden emotions with a series of ever-changing kaleidoscopic surface emotions, and will seem fascinating and elusive to others. The native may be chimerical, fluttering like a fairy from one situation to the next. At its worst, Lilith in Aquarius is irresponsible, remote, and refuses to listen to others.

Pisces - Lilith is already secretive, and doubly so in Pisces. This is usually the person who has emotional wounding buried so deeply that they don't even know it themselves. Lilith's placement here may instigate behaviors which even the native finds baffling, and is often associated with passive-aggressive and unconscious behavioral patterns.

Lilith also known as the

Supernal Midwife

"Thou art he that cut me loose from my mother's womb" [Ps 71:6]
defines God's midwife aspect, cutting the umbilical cord of newborns.
This female emanation is called Nukvah the supernal wetnurse; and like
Gula, Artemis, and other midwife goddesses, it is Her decision whether
or not the mother and/or child survive, so has both a bright face and
dark face. In Kabbalah, the supernal midwife can be either Eve or
Lilith. Lilith works in the Chamber of Exchanges, swapping good souls
for evil, evil souls for good. The power of the supernal midwife to do
harm is not in itself evil, for good invariably comes of Lilith's
mischief.

The supernal midwife is viewed as the cause of wars for thrones,
usurpations, and battles within a royal family to decide heirs.
Hagar's son born before Sarah's; and Leah's children before Rachel's
were exchanges made by the supernal midwife. The order of Jacob and
Esau were switched in Rebekah's womb, so that the violent Esau would
emerge first, and gentle Jacob's descendants would have been subject
forever to the descendants of Esau, except that Esau sold his
birthright to Jacob for a bowl of red pottage (symbolic of blood). The
supernal midwife oversees all acts of exchange, as when Laban
exchanged Leah for Rachel as Isaac's bride, or when Moses turned his
staff into a serpent.

She can also remove wealth from one house to another, one kingdom to
another. When Israel became subject to Assyria, it was due to Israel's
own sin, and God's anger which came as a midwife. It was She that
directed infant Moses into the house of Pharaoh's daughter, removing
him from slavery. It was she that induced Joseph's brothers to sell
him into slavery. Solomon lists four things the earth cannot bear: a
slave when he becomes king, a fool when he is filled with food, an
unloved woman when she gets a husband, and a handmaid when she
succeeds her mistress [Pr 30:21-23]. These appear rather trivial, or
at least devoid of moral meaning, unless one understands them in the
context of the supernal midwife's tinkering with the fate of humanity.

The midwife also represents periods of exile, the "exchange" being
such as when Israelite tribes lived among the Egyptians or Persians or
Babylonians, or when Hebrew men preferred Canaanite and Babylonian
wives, themselves being aspects of the midwife seeking to exchange
Yahweh's worship in favor of the Mother Goddess. The midwife's
Lilith's activities explains how good comes from evil, evil from good,
so that David is descended from Lot's incest with his daughters, and
Jesus is descended from Jezebel and Ahab. All exchanges, no matter how
damaging, are in the end beneficial.

Fascinating post, YFS! Loved that one.

I've been using h13 for a long time. Can't remember what I read or where I heard that was the correct one to use...but considering it made an exact conjunct to my DC, I'll happily trade it for this new and improved model! Ha ha.

I also found this link. I think it was translated from another language, but it gives Lilith in houses as well.

We also have a resident Lilith expert here...Lalalinda...where are ya dear?

Sorry if I confused everybody. Spirit is correct, I am talking about the upside down cross with the moon attached at the top. Just like the pictures she posted. I guess the correct term would be black moon lilith.

I found too many recurring themes going on with that sucker, I give up.

On the contrary, LeoCat! You put us all on the same page! Now we're comparing apples to apples as they say.

Don't be too down about the Lilith connections. Just like YFS wrote in her last post, there is always a balance and good coming from change!

I'm sorry I'm bringing this topic back to life but it really bothers me. I just read that a strong Black moon lilith in a man's chart can indicate homosexuality. His lilith lands in my 12th house and it's quite unnerving to say the least. My latest thoughts on this are he's a closet homosexual. Any truth to this you thinhk?

I would say a strongly damaged Black Moon lilith in a man's or womans chart can indicate homosexuality.

Strong placement or focus of Black Moon lilith in a chart would rather indicate to me: A strong intellectual excitement and often plays a leading role in many horoscopes of mediums, occultists and sensitives.
You don't have to be surprised by this, because the Moon, black or white, always symbolizes the unconscious, the intuition and the inspiration.

I hope this helps?

Hi Spirit! How about if his moon is conjunct saturn (1 degree) in the dreaded 12th house in his natal chart ruled by Aries. I would say that's a damaged moon, huh? His natal black moon ilith is in 5th house of virgo with pluto no less and makes a sneak attack in my 12th house. ALSO his ganymed is in Libra. Well, that says it all for me, he's gay. Actually, now I feel worse.

Would you like me to look into his chart?
Maybe, it's just a simple matter of strange synastry between the two of you?
Here's my email yourfriendinspirit@gmail.com if you choose to have me peek. Be sure to send accurate info regarding date, time, and place of birth.
Hang in there... You obviously find in him some qualities of attraction as you say he is your partner. I say, give him the benefit of doubt. Have you considered any other ideas?

Thanks spirit you're so supportive. I know he's not gay he's very male, I've never been attracted to any other kind. And I've got pretty good gaydar with even the not so obvious ones, I'm usually the one that sets my girlfriends straight when they're in denial.

His demon goddess that which symbolizes the other woman in my 12H just really bothers me. I can't seem to get over it. I've always believed in fate and destiny for the good or bad so whatever the case, it'll work out the way it's supposed to.

Thanks for offering to look in our charts but I feel so bad, like I'm violating his privacy or something. :-P. I feel guilty spying on him myself.

Thank you Spirit! You have such a serene quality about you, just reading your posts makes me feel better.
