I was so shocked when I read it online this morning, it took a while for me to understand what I was actually reading..
Just TWO nights ago I felt like I really wanted to watch Brokeback Mountain again, and sat down with a few beers and had a good cry, like I sometimes like to do with some movies. It just feels so weird right now..

RIP, Heath..

I am still in shock, what tragic news. I'll admit a childish part of me hopes it was nothing but a publicity stunt but I know it's not. I just cannot wrap my head around this news, it's so shocking. My heart aches so for his family's loss. His poor little girl now without a daddy...

i agree. he was (obviously) one of those people who really touches people deep down. there was something so vulnerable and real about him.

i also cannot believe it. it is surreal.

At 28, like me, Heath was in the second pass of his Saturn return. Saturn was also exactly opposed his Venus at 7 pisces.

Heath Ledger found dead in NYC at age 28

NEW YORK - Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown
Manhattan apartment, naked in bed with sleeping pills nearby, police
said. The Australian-born actor was 28. It wasn't immediately clear
if Ledger had committed suicide.

He had an appointment for a massage at a residence in the tony
neighborhood of SoHo, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said. A housekeeper
who went to let him know the massage therapist had arrived found him
dead at 3:26 p.m.

A large crowd of paparazzi and gawkers gathered outside the building
on an upscale block. Ledger's body was still inside, and several
police officers guarded the door.

The medical examiner's office planned an autopsy Wednesday,
spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said.

While not a marquee movie star, Ledger was a respected, award-winning
actor who chose his roles carefully rather than cashing in on his
heartthrob looks. He was nominated for an Oscar for his performance
as a gay cowboy in "Brokeback Mountain," where he met Michelle
Williams, who played his wife in the film. The two had a daughter,
Matilda, and lived together in Brooklyn until they split up last year.

Ledger most recently appeared in "I'm Not There," in which he played
one of the many incarnations of Bob Dylan ƒƒ‚‚ as did Cate
Blanchett,
whose performance in that film earned an Oscar nomination Tuesday for
best supporting actress.

Ledger had finished filming his role as the Joker this year in "The
Dark Knight," a sequel to 2005's "Batman Begins."

He's had starring roles in "A Knight's Tale" and "The Patriot," and
played the suicidal son of Billy Bob Thornton in "Monster's Ball." He
also played a heroin addict in the 2006 Australian film "Candy."

Before settling down with Williams, Ledger had relationships with
actresses Heather Graham and Naomi Watts. He met Watts while working
on "The Lords of Dogtown," a fictionalized version of a cult classic
skateboarding documentary, in 2004.

Ledger was born in 1979 in Perth, in western Australia, to a mining
engineer and a French teacher, and got his first acting role playing
Peter Pan at age 10 at a local theater company. He began acting in
independent films as a 16-year-old in Sydney and played a cyclist
hoping to land a spot on an Olympic team in a 1996 television
show, "Seat."

After several independent films, Ledger moved to Los Angeles at age
19 and co-starred opposite Julia Stiles in "10 Things I Hate About
You," a teen comedy reworking of "The Taming of the Shrew."

Offers for other teen flicks soon came his way, but Ledger turned
them down, preferring to remain idle than sign on for projects he
didn't like.

"It wasn't a hard decision for me," Ledger told the Associated Press
in 2001. "It was hard for everyone else around me to understand.
Agents were like, 'You're crazy,' my parents were like, 'Come on, you
have to eat.'"

His movie career caught on anyway, culminating with his Academy Award
nomination opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in "Brokeback."

"Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan said earlier this month that
Ledger's performance as the Joker would be wildly different than Jack
Nicholson's memorable turn in 1989's "Batman."

"It was a very great challenge for Heath," Nolan said. "He's
extremely original, extremely frightening, tremendously edgy. A very
young character, a very anarchic presence that taps into a lot of our
basic fears and panic."

If he lived in your town you would probably feel the same way. We're not used to people dying young and when they do it shakes up our expectations of life. Your reaction is normal, TigerLily, though maybe you are more sensitive and empathetic than a lot of people so it doesn't seem so right now.

I still think it could be accidental, the ammount of druges taken by him..it can happen..

Im one of the many who also liked him a lot as an actor and seemed such a great guy really - usually people sauy things like this after a death " ohhh such a great person he/she was.." - but concerning Ledger well its definatelly true

I just hope that his Soul is in Peace, whatever might have happened in that apartment.

Im gonna pray that He is Well

Kinda reminds me of Owen Wilson's suicide "attempt", except transiting Saturn was EXACTLY inconjuct his natal chiron.

C'mon people!! How many celebrities have to kill themselves ( or at least try to) before you realize the validity of the awefullness of Saturn/Chiron clashes!!!!

P.S. Did anyone notice that with 24 hours of the Saturn/Chiron contra-parallel being EXACT.. the Stock market DROPPED 400 points!!!!

I am giving the intepretation for Saturn conjunct Saturn
Saturn parallel Saturn is like Saturn conjunct Saturn

This transit is known in astrology as the "Saturn Return" and occurs approximately every 29 years. The planet Saturn has done a full cycle of your chart and returned to its natal position. The first Saturn return, at approximately 29-years-old, is one of the most important times of your life. You are leaving behind childhood and reviewing your life through new, more mature eyes. During this time your past comes under close scrutiny. You are being forced, whether you like it or not, to face life with a new maturity.

This time marks a separation process, during which anything that no longer supports your life purpose is being broken down and remoulded, or discarded. This paves the way for new responsibilities to be shouldered as you move into the next cycle. The type of responsibility will be affected by the house placement and rulership of Saturn.

The second Saturn return, around the age of 58, also forces you to face up to your responsibilities. The effects of this second return will vary, depending on how successfully you handled your first return.

He was 28 years old too....so Saturn return right around the corner

I am giving interpretation for Saturn oppose Chiron. Saturn contrparallel Chiron is like Saturn oppose Chiron. Saturn quincunx Chiron has the same interpretation too.

It is time to let go of emotional patterns which have prevented you from expressing your true self. However, the process may be painful, emotionally or physically. As a result you are particularly sensitive during this time, and need to take good care of yourself. It is possible that an event or person could upset your equilibrium causing grief. You may be introspective, pondering on childhood memories and relationships, particularly with parent figures. Although this can be a painful process, there is light at the end of the tunnel. You have the opportunity to gain new understanding of past events and move forward in your life with wisdom and insight.

These interpretations are from Solar Fire.

challenging transits involving Saturn and Chiron can indicate very challenging, testing, karmic times in life any way. These times can be dealt with..really depends on the person, the choices that he/she make, circumstances like what people he/she's with, etc.

Transiting Chiron was conjuncting my chart ruler Mercury in Scorpio in 3rd and my Mom's chart ruler Moon in Scorpio in 5th when my maternal grandfather committed suicide. That was Jan 25,1997. The good thing about it that it brought my mother and me closer after being so distant..especially with my being resentful towards her because of her abusing me when I was growing up. Another good thing was that my grandfather's death led me on a spiritual, soul search that I ended 2 years of atheism, started believing in God again, and got into metaphysical things that I ended up getting into Astrology. My grandfather's death was a spiritual catalyst and opened the door for me to be an astrologer.

Transiting Chiron was opposing my Sun in Scorpio 2nd house/near 3rd house cusp when I started first grade in a special education class with the mentally retarded because my Dyslexia,Dyspraxia were mistakened for mental retardation. This was back in 1977. The good thing was getting intensive speech therapy to help remediate my Dyslexia,Dyspraxia that I ended up being a corrected/compensated Dyslexic,Dyspraxic.

Chiron transits can be very painful. But even though there is pain, there can be healing and teaching involved that can help one grow.

I had Barbara Hand Clow's book on Chiron. Even though it was quite esoteric, it really had good insights about Chiron. I believed that Chiron is very karmic and full of lessons that people go through the hard way. I believe that it has to do with holistic awareness, healing, and teaching as well as the maverick. I think that there is certain "specialness" about Chiron whether it's positive or negative. Example....my Jupiter in Sagittarius in 3rd trine Chiron could indicate my history of having special education/teachers, and it aspected my Midheaven, and so there was a chance that I could one day help others who have special needs. My mother's Neptune in 5th house square the opposition of 5th house ruler Venus and Chiron could indicate having a child who has special needs, and that was me.
Those are just a few examples.

He already had his Saturn Return. Because of a retrograde, Saturn was going to be hit twice. His Return officially began from November 25 until January 13 this year. WOW. That was a two month first pass. Almost straight away, as it separated form the conjunction, it opposed his Venus.

Apparently not even the saddest event can keep you from taking the opportunity to praise Magi Astrology as the non plus ultra . We don't need Magi to know that Saturn transits (in particular the Saturn return) can suck big time.

Exactly.
that was my point ...

"Apparently not even the saddest event can keep you from taking the opportunity to praise Magi Astrology as the non plus ultra"

I don't feel that he was trying to do that. He was only commenting and giving his input about the transits.

SagSun:

You are RIGHT!!!

I am a complete MAGI HO !!!!
By simply pointing out similarities in transits, between an attempted, and a succesful celebrity suicide, I completely reveal myself as a soulless disciple of a completely hopeless astrological "religion: of which I am completely brainwashed by!!!

Thankfully you, (and your self-righteous SagSun) are here to point out the error of my ways.

I hope God/Jerry Falwell/Jesus Christ/St. Germaine/Krishna/Buddha/Mohammed etc.etc. ALL reward you with THOUSANDS of virgins in the afterlife (cuz God knows U ain't gettin' any here in 3D !!!! )

I'm sorry you hate me.. BUT, do you realize that our first contact chart ( on the internet anyways) contains the aforementioned SATURN/CHIRON contra-parallel!!!! (Meaning, that we aren't under the appropriate astrological "influences" to make a "good impression" on each other!!!

My point being: If it's raining outside... you're GONNA GET WET!!!! ( if you CHOOSE to go outside that is!!!)

You don't care!!! you F'in hippocrite!!!!!

Die xxxxxxbag!!!! Die!!!!!!!

F U, for trying to take away from the OBVIOUS astrological alignmemts that most likely contributed to his own decision to get so F'ed up, that he KILLS HIMSELF!!!!!

At the risk of repeating myself ... What on earth is your problem??? Why can't you have a normal discussion about things without getting personal and insulting people???

quote:
Thankfully you, (and your self-righteous SagSun) are here to point out the error of my ways.

You don't know the least bit about me ... hence you have absolutely no right to judge me like that. You know, it's people like you that take the fun out of using the forum for the rest of us.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this forum was meant to share thoughts and ideas on astrology related matters. It was clearly not intended for people to insult each other. And all I did was to state my opinion on Magi Astrology. Sorry that I don't find it as revealing as you do. But I NEVER said that people believing in Magi are morons for doing so. I simply explained WHY I personally think Magi Astrology is not so perfect. And if you re-read my post on the other thread you will find that there are things that I actually DO like about Magi.

And I won't even comment on your second post. YOU ARE SICK!!!!

PS: I know that this actually doesn't belong in this thread and I apologize for hijacking it like this. Sorry!!!
