It might interest everyone here to know that Madonna has a 12th house Sun and she's one of the most famous celebrities in the world. Now, if that doesn't make you run out and learn astrology beyond just the Sun signs, I don't know what else could. She really does do her best to keep her private life private and considering how famous she is, I think she's done a pretty good job. It also speaks volumes about her spirituality/religion and how serious she is about it. How about her name being the same as The Virgin Mary. I don't know where to place that today, but she is a famous Virgo with the name of The Virgin, and she's named after her mother. Unfortunately I can't get much more detailed today. I just started a thread about why relationships were so diffucult for me, and someone of course mentioned my moon opposed saturn, but I am thinking that a lot of problems I have in romantic relationships stem from my singleton taurus moon. Atwelth house moon makes me sensitive, but compassionate and very private. I love kids and have really good friends, but some of my friends have also said I can keep people at a distance. (Not intentionally-but doesn't the 12th also represent the subconscious?) I don't know, but maybe 12th house placements are about preservation-trying to keep yourself to yourself (ex: privacy) which 12th house people need because I think we take the world a little more personally (everyone does, of course) but some people just say, "hey, that's life" but I know that when something happens to me which is less than great (or even wonderful), I wonder "why me?" lol. I do think that 12 house placements are indications of artistic expression. I am a writer too-I love literature, music, art, etc. My goal is to get into publishing as an editor, until then, it's teaching and working with the disabled. But all of these desires are definately connected to the 12th house. So compassion and interest in other people (wanting to help) is a good asset of a 12th house I think. *I was shocked when I found out Madonna had a 12th house sun! That probably furthered her desire to "be someone". Doesn't she have Virgo ascendant as well?? That's probably why people have found her so "calculated" sometimes-earth signs usually know where they are going or at leat have a fixed idea about it! IP: Logged |

I know other people in my family who have planets in 12thMy maternal grandfather had Mars in Libra in 12th sextile Midheaven, and he was in US Marines for a few years. He was an alcoholic, did drugs, and he committed suicide by shooting himself in head. He had Hepatitis C,cirrhosis of the liver when that happened. a maternal aunt of mine has Sun conjunct Neptune in Scorpio in 12th,sextile Midheaven....she has a history of smoking weed and was involved with guys that smoked weed in her younger years. She got married at 17, and she cheated on her husband before. She's been divorced for a long time She was in US Army for 4 years. She has a career in Veteran Affairs, and helps people get disability compensation. She's now on the rating board She's a recovering alcoholic who wants to be a sponsor. She's getting involved in Buddhism. so both my mother and maternal aunt have Sun in 12th aspect to Neptune my maternal grandmother has Sun-Mars in Aries in 12th quincunx Neptune in 5th. She also has Uranus in Aries in 12th. She briefly married my grandfather for his US Marines allotment check to help take of her first born daughter. She didn't want to be married any more after she got pregnant with my mother. She tried to give up my mom up for adoption, but my grandfather kept her. She disappeared without a trace with her firstborn daughter since my Mom was a baby. My mother grew up never knowing her mother just like I grew up never knowing my father.
my maternal stepgrandmother has Venus in Libra in 12th oppose Mars in Aries in 6th.....well......she lost her husband(my grandfather) to suicide after 40 years of marriage and 4 children. She was never with any guy before him. She first got involved with him when she was 13 years old. She married him when she was 16 years old. She has Diabetes and Hepatitis. She also has a history of drinking a lot and smoking weed. there is more, but I am giving the main gist of how the 12th house placements work in my family.

I haven't read anyone's posts so please forgive me if I add something that's already mentioned but people with heavy 12th house content (or at least SE quadrant content) often have very public persona and tend to become politicians. IP: Logged |

The main gist of the 12th house is wanting to be of service as in Pisces. I have Mars in Pisces (1st) as well as Sun and Venus conjunct in the 12th.It kind of doesnt sit comfortably with my Capricorn self interest. So I have alot of catholic guilt pangs. lol. But definitely starting to realise that I could be of service by just showing compassion and understanding. IP: Logged |

My Libra Sun is in my 12th house too, conjunct Uranus and they share the 12th house with Pluto. Jupiter is knocking at the door, cusping the 12th. I just wrote today about fighting off the darkness that your "weight of the world" brings, funny I should find this thread. ------------------ Sun-Libra Moon-Capricorn Asc-Libra Mercury-Scorpio Venus-Scorpio Mars-Virgo Jupiter-Virgo Saturn-Aries(r) Uranus-Libra Neptune-Scorpio IP: Logged |

I just wanted to clear something upwhen I said the main gist of it. I wasn't talking about main gist of 12th house I was talking about main gist of how 12th house placements work for my family. I felt the need to clear it up.....as I somebody started off with "the main gist of 12th house" a lot of misunderstandings happen on the internet.
12th has both positive and negative meanings. I believe that it's a house associated with selfless service.
Traditional Astrology has darker meanings for the 12th house....but modern astrologers modified those meanings .....a lot of modification in Western Astrology any way...it's a continuous changing system just like Uranus is said to be the ruler of Astrology but also change. It was the discovery of Uranus that led to significant changes in Astrologer......after all, most Western Astrologers use the outerplanets. IP: Logged |

No no no. The weight of the world is Saturn [heavy] in the 10th [world] LOL and I have it [and the other 1/12 of the population]. Kiding! Or am I right? Ok, seriously and on topic, I have Moon conj Neptune in the 12th and subscribe to everything mentioned above. Selfless service - checked Isolation need - checked No imprisonment yet [just self imposed haha and loving it], but a heavy dose of hospitals [not as a patient but as a med student] Chronic health issues - checked Mother [Moon] doesn't have any addiction problems but she's very spiritual. She's a reward , as GV said. Addictions - checked and overcomed Service and suffering - checked. Oh, and Moon is the ruler of my 7th house, I sort of tend to keep my sentimental life private. And I was a late bloomer, don't know where this fits with my chart. I think 12th house can work positively for you once you start using it instead of hiding it. The house of karma hmmmm... All my life, people have sought me out to counsel them...even when I was a kid! Yes, I feel my service IS selfless, but it is difficult to find TLC for myself. My Moon in Cap makes it difficult for me to express emotional vulnerability...it's a mess!

BLKFox,I do, now that I think about it. At first I was thinking which do I attract in a negative way (Virgos, mostly males) but then realised Taurus (mostly females) were the good side of that. and right on with that comment re: people seeking you out for counsel. Self-TLC is a huge challenge here too. ------------------ Sun-Libra Moon-Capricorn Asc-Libra Mercury-Scorpio Venus-Scorpio Mars-Virgo Jupiter-Virgo Saturn-Aries(r) Uranus-Libra Neptune-Scorpio IP: Logged |

The responses have been very interesting....I don't think too much has been said about the psychic element of the 12th house aspect. I wonder if Sun in my 12th House has contributed to my heightened awareness of the "Unseen" world...which, for me, is occasionally "seen". As I've mentioned, it is difficult for me not to "read" people who come into my environment...I can NEVER take anything at face value...It drives most people I know CrAzY!!! Is anyone else "plugged in" in this manner..? IP: Logged |

Hmmm...BLKFox, I'm sort of 'plugged in' in that manner. It doesn't drive other people crazy..it drives ME crazy..hahaI think I can relate to you on the 'reading' people part. I manage to control myself not to 'read' everyone I encounter. But sometimes I just could not help it IP: Logged |

BLkFox, I think its normal for parents to worry about their child. Especially for you since you're able to 'see' the 'unseen'. How old is your daughter? My sister during her younger years would go berserk if my mum starts to 'read' her friends and boyfriends, but gradually she became immune and started to believe my mum, thanks to me. I too 'saw' what my mum 'saw', so I sort of backed up some of my mum's opinion. IP: Logged |

Welcome T-Gemini. First post on the 12th house people thread. Were you drawn to the thread ?Bit unusual a Gemini being emphatic ? I thought they didnt really know how to feel their feeling ? (I speak as a Gemini moon person). IP: Logged |
