Black_Lily - It might be a bit like having someone's Saturn in your 8th house. Saturn doesn't do change, and he's not erotic or loving, so the conjunction with Eros will cool Eros right down.Darkdreamer: What would you say to someone's Valentine opposing another's Sun/Mars? What would that be like? IP: Logged |

Bvanzy,I do like oppositions, as you may have noticed; I think they are an aspect of great attraction and polarity (as long as they include a yin and a yang planet / asteroid or at least two yins; two yangs like Sun-Mars that could get difficult). But in your case, VAlentine definitely is on the yin side, Sun Mars obviously on the Yang side so I think this would create a strong attraction. Since VAlentine rules true love, the VAlentine would feel great love towards the Sun-Mars-person. If the Sun-Mars-person is a man I`d imagine he would feel very appreciated in his "male role". But of course you ahve to take into account the particular vibration of an opposition, which is more "opposites attract", then based on familiarity or the same energies. Regarding the Saturn-Eros-conjunction, yes I do indeed think that Saturn could cool Eros a bit off. But maybe, more positively, Saturn just takes it all to a very sincere level? And of course maybe the Eros person is able to overrun Saturn`s defenses and help him open up a bit? I have Saturn conjunct Eros natally; in my case Saturn is keeping Eros definitely in check and is terribly scared of all that Eros-energy, lurking underneath (my Saturn, Eros, Vertex and Destinn are all conjunct in Cancer in 8th house and oppose my Sun-Moon-mp). Maybe Saturn is a bit scared of the erotic energy and power of the Eros-person? And therefore tries to cool them down? # But on the other hand, who if not Eros could be able to open Saturn up to love and this bubbling energy and vibrant feeling of being alive? DD IP: Logged |

Thanks Darkdreamer. Fascinating. I love this yin/yang idea in regards to understanding oppositions.Well in this case, it's my Sun/Mars opp his Valentine! How do you think a Sun/Mars opp Valentine would compare with a synastric Venus/Valentine conjunction? How would the energies differ? (It's another chart). I'm picking your brains I know. I think a Saturn/Eros conjunction in the natal chart works differently to a synastry conjunction, because there is not much you can do to override Eros energy within a person. It will always be there bubbling away, Saturn or no Saturn. In fact the Saturn conjunction might mean they take erotic love super-seriously on top of everything else.

darkdreamer, I don't quite understand... Planet oppositions are always EITHER yin OR yang, a natural opposition can never be between a yang and a yin sign:Aries-Libra (yang) Taurus-Scorpio (yin) Gemini-Sagittarius (yang) Cancer-Capricorn (yin), etc. Edited: Oh, okay, you are talking about yang&yin planets, not signs ;-)

Some QsValentine: 26 degrees Libra in 9th house **Is 26 degrees an important degree? 1. I wonder if this means love and affairs in foreign countries (like half a dozen so far) Aphrodite: 6 degrees Virgo in 7th house 2. This seems like a nice placement. Maybe I like a lover who really takes care of themselves? Eros: 16 degrees Cap in 12. Psyche: 11 degree Aqua in 1st house 3. Wonder what those two mean? Someone who is different is attractive to me? Cupido (which I assume is also Cupid): 7 degree Leo in 7th house 4. Is this a good placement? IP: Logged |

I read that Cupido was the look of love but not real love . This would be someone who fakes love,I would say,if I am correct Carl------------------ Enlightenment doesn't result from sitting around visualizing images of light, but from integrating the darker aspects of the self into the conscious personality Jung You must lose your life for My sake in order to find it . This is so old but I noticed the Eros/Saturn & Valentine/Saturn conversation.I've been seeing someone on & off who has the Valentine/Saturn opposition natally. Curious how that plays out. He does say it is very difficult for him to fall in love... He has Eros Virgo conj My Valentine My Eros/Moon Scorp conj His Valentine (DW) all directly opposite his Saturn in Taurus which is conj my Mars & Amor. His Saturn is also in my 8th house - eeek! There is a strong attraction but sometimes I do feel shut down by him.
