uh oh... the other day l had a double-take when l read a friend's Aquarias rising sign interpretation to her on the phone. At the end of it she said "that sounds like you!" and l thought, yeah it does but l am Leo rising which is the opposite.Anyway, curiosity got the better of me (my parents never remembered my birthtime so l had to rectify it) and l did my chart with aquarius AC. It fitted me really well too. In fact it put my stellium in the 3rd H which might explain my writing ability and my insane need for astrological research lol and curious nature. Now, the question l really want to ask is, how influential is our DC upon our characters because it the interpretations, these are the bits of both signs that l am totally like! In other words, can l be Leo rising and yet have lots of Aquarian traits or not please? Here are the interpretations Leo Ascendant The person with Leo rising is likely to be incredibly well organised, but also rather bossy or even pompous. THAT BIT IS TOTALLY THE OPPOSITE OF ME! I CAN BE BOSSY THOUGH DUE TO TAURUS SUN The desire to succeed is very strong in those with this placing, but this can lead to the stifling of all other interests in favour of the career. Those with a Leo Ascendant are very concerned with status, and will want to work always to enhance the standing of themselves and their loved ones, although material success in its own right is less important to them than the kudos that goes with it. NOPE, I AM TOTALLY ADVERSE TO STAUS, IN FACT I REBEL AGAINST IT. I CANT STAND JEWELRY AND STATUS SYMBOLS. IM REALLY NOT THAT INTO SUCCEEDING MATERIALLY EITHER. Usually psychologically secure, this placing confers a great deal of inner strength and can be very dynamic. Back or neck pain is common. YES, I HAVE IMMENSE INNER STRENGTH AND AM FREQUENTLY A PAIN IN THE NECK. Aquarius Ascendant
'Enigmatic' is perhaps the best way to describe someone with an Aquarius Ascendant. The diffidence and emotional coolness of the sun sign are even more evident with Aquarius rises, as is the independent nature and free spirit. OMG THAT IS SO ME! Kind and friendly, the Aquarius rising person needs to learn to accept others at face value and not to erect barriers. Eager for self-knowledge, they nonetheless deliberately make it difficult for others to get too close. YES, I AM OFTEN ACCUSED OF BEING ALOOF, COLD ETC Relationships are quite an issue in this placing, with the subject always been torn between wanting to retain their independence and freedom yet at the same time longing for a loving relationship. THIS IS SPOT ON ALTHOUGH I DO HAVE VENUS/ARIES AND MARS/TAURUS. At times perverse and very stubborn, these people can be their own worse enemies, yet they are true humanitarians - sometimes more concerned about the world at large than their own individual loved ones. YES AND NO. I AM MORE OF A FREEDOM FIGHTER. Aquarius rising does put pluto and uranus in my 8th and l am prety psychic on all levels. I can sense things before they happen.
grrrrrrr now l have doubt, and l hate doubt. Any idea what aquarius rising looks like? Do they have a wild look about them and dress in a very individualistic way? The one thing all my friends say about me is that i'm one of a kind. One of my fac quotes is "i don't do queues" and "you will never conquer me"... if that helps. IP: Logged |

Sounds Leo-like. Also, the Leos in my family seem to have a psychic connection ie, thinking about each other at the same time. I wonder if Leos have an innate 'jungle' intuition at times. Leos can be short and strong in stature. Both signs can be beautiful and social. Leos can have beautiful eyes. Hmmm... are Aquarians tallish? Would their eyes sparkle more so than a Leos? What a difficult situation - as opposites can seem similar? IP: Logged |

I don't know, Lara. I'm Aquarius rising and although I do exhibit some of the traits you read about in the books, I'm definitely not a crazy dresser and don't have a wild look in my eyes. Maybe it's the Scorp sun, or maybe the Venus in Libra which makes me a bit more conservative in dress and conscious of matching colors, etc. You'd never see me wearing Pippi Longstocking hosiery or very bright clashing colors. I will say, though, I love beautiful jewelry (nothing clunky or gaudy) but I feel very guilty if I wear a piece and I see everyone's eyes on it (I hate to call attention to myself in the sense that I don't want to flaunt wealth, or the appearance of wealth.)What I do, though, is act like a Mexican jumping bean very often, multitasking and jumping from one thing to the other, much to my chagrine sometimes. But I have a low boredom threashold, and find it hard to stay on task unless it's something I absolutely love, like my painting. Another trait, which I read somewhere is common with this rising sign: I have an awfully embarrassing verbal tic that comes and goes, thankfully infrequently. People think I have the hiccups, but it's definitely a kind of vocalization that I cannot control, especially when stressed. I've had it for the past three weeks, for no apparent reason, and it's driving me nuts. Hope this helped in some way. Oh, and I love to write, as well. IP: Logged |

Very difficult, i agree Dooza! Hows that new name coming along Hey Jugular, thanks for describing yourself. I think my entire wardrobe is either black or blue jean color lol Well, it's either one or the other... i'm 5'7 and 98 Ibs so really skinny. I have long legs and arms and delicate bone structure. I guess my best feature is probably my eyes as they are huge. Thing is, i'm not bothered to be social but if i'm out l make sure l really have a good time. It normally involves shocking people though. At a party l will be the one who goes in a rubber dress or something, but it's only an expression of myself and the shock factor is just a side-effect if that makes sense. Yes, l get embarrassed when attention is placed on me in public and yet, the flip side is that l naturally attract it yet push it away lol I too have a low boredom threshold... and like you if it's something creative l can go with it for decades. I don't have any tic but i am good at putting my foot in it verbally and annoying people, to my own detriment. IP: Logged |

lara- do you have any planets aspecting uranus? that could be why you relate so much to the aquarius(uranus)descriptions. im an aquarius rising, and ive always been standoffish. its not one of my good traits. people assume i dont them if they dont know me. im taller than average i guess, 5'7....and ive heard weird, and unique growing up a lot. i dont dress colorfully...but i did dress up strangely as a child...I didnt believe in matching, and just looked strange all together..(dont know what i was thinking)...i dress casual, i dont wear jewerly...i dont put on a lot of makeup, ive been told i dont need it.. everyone has always assumed, im extremely intelligent, but maybe because i was a quiet nerdy type kid...i dont know why they thought that because honestly my grades were so so, only because i was extremely bored in school...if it wasnt interesting to me, i didnt care or zoned out... as an adult now, im more friendly, and talkative...but when people get close too quickly i freak out, i like everything to take time, and i like people to give me space. i like to laugh, and be around the same sort of people. im definitely a loner type, but need good close friends in my life. hope this helped.IP: Logged |

hi lara!you seem more like a leo rising too me than aquarius. although when i think of aquarius rising with aries moon, it feels like leo! my 'feeling' of you, though, is that you have a strong, confident, assertive energy. it's full and vibrant and leolike. aquarius rising i think of more as a pensive, analytical, cool energy. the main difference to me is that i think leos are more inclined to GIVE their opinion and put their energy OUT there, and aquariand are more inclined to assimilate and ask endless questions to try to figure something out. very different energies. BUT they both have rubber dresses in common. IP: Logged |

writesomething, you just described me in a nutshell!I have a major problem if people come on too quick with me too... l kinda get moody over it and growl at them lol I love my space and am a total loner, which is the only think that enables me to survive being at home alone with 3 kids night after night after night. Interestingly, my boyfriend is a Leo and has venus conjunct uranus. My ex husband had venus opposing uranus. I seem to attract strong uranus types. I seem to attract men with air in either moon/AC position too. hmmm Uranus aspects - conjunct pluto sextile neptune trine mars

Hey Jugular - I developed a verbal hiccup years and ago and I still have it every now and then. It can be embarrassing, esp. if my voice slips up an octave in a split second. I'm Aries Rising.Lara - still waiting for rego verification! and I've started chuckling all over again

Hey heart cakes, thanks for your post! Funny you should say that about aqua with aries moon as my dad is a double aries and my mum a double aqua. I think l am becoming more assertive and confident as l get older. I never used to be. I was never vibrant and full on until 2005 really. weird. I am very analytical though - it's one of my problems. I analyse everything and devour it! Is it possible that we become more like our AC or DC as we get older? Is there a certain look that seperates a Leo from an Aquairian, does anyone know please? On the Astro.com forums a user had a theory that left handed people's charts should be flipped with the DSC being the actual AC and the AC being the actual DSC.Are you left handed? *shrug* I'm left handed (Gem rising normally), but my chart is a toss up because my Sun & Mercury (chart ruler) are in the 9th house, which is ruled by Sag, so I come off as very Sagittarian anyway. it's hard to tell from the pics. my first thought was with your cheekbones virgo. eyebrows in a couple of shots seem aries to me.but you've personally narrowed it down between aquarius and leo so between those based on your replies in the threads you seem more fiery so leo. where is your mercury? and also - do your parents know a rough time of the day you were born - like, between midnight and sunrise or afternoon and sunset, etc? just a rough idea would be helpful. as to asc/desc dynamics - i'm aries sun, venus, mercury and ascendant and based on appearances people ALWAYS guess that i'm a libran. I am left-handed!! VERY left-handed Peaceangel, l have Taurus sun and Aries moon but i'm def not scorpio rising. I have no revengeful tendencies and always attract scorpio rising men!
If i am Leo rising l have moon/venus/saturn/NN stellium in my 8th H which could lead you to think i'm scorpio. Lots of people think i'm aries but my stellium is in Aries!!! So if you are left-handed do you keep the true Ac in it's place and just act more like the DC? Interesting theory. IP: Logged |

u look aries rising and u definitly dont look aqua or leo rising lol. leo rising doesnt make you that talll and doesnt give that facial structure. aqua rising usually have very light eye colour also and look very different i think its aries. ------------------ ASC: Virgo Sun: Cancer Moon: Gemini Mars: Cancer Mercury: Cancer Venus: Leo IP: Logged |

Thanks Belgz,I don't relate to this interpretation at all though... Aries Ascendant The most noticeable trait about an Aries Ascendant person is their overwhelming desire to win. They have an energetic driving force ad remarkable energy reserves. Ruthlessness can be a problem, although competition is generally an excellent spur. There are many strong and positive traits in this placing, but perhaps this person needs to learn to step back a little and take a closer look at what they are doing and why they are doing it. Frequent headaches are common with this placing. In contrast to the independence of Sun sign Arians, those with Aries rising have a very strong need for a permanent partner, and they can be surprisingly understanding, compassionate and tolerant of their loved ones. Maybe you think that cos l have so many planets in Aries?

Hey Lara! Your eyes are looking very "water sign" to me. Any chance that you are Cancer rising? This would make your MC in Aries...maybe that stellium is somewhere near the potential MC? 8th IP: Logged |
