Tigerlily - so in effect, you have no major planets aspecting (with major aspects, ie squ, opp, conj, sextile, trine) to either of your ASC or uranus?
Well, I use very tight orbs - 2 degrees, maybe 3 max. If I expand it a bit my Aqua ASC squares my Taurus Saturn by 4 degrees and sextiles my Aries Chiron by a little under 5 degrees. My ASC is quincunx the Sun exactly and quincunx Mercury by 1 degree. If you include midpoints in your study, my ASC is conjunct my Moon/Mars midpoint by 1 degree.

Tigerlily - that's the missing link, the squ from your saturn to you asc gives you greater angularity that you might normally have as an aqu asc. In the non-astro world, that would come from your indigenous heritage, in the astrological world, cheekbones either come from either an aspect to the asc from capricorn, capricorn rising or chart ruler in capricorn. Of course, not every person with these astro attributes has high cheekbones, but saturn rules structure and these people tend to have good facial structure. Mercurial aspects make one look younger and maybe gives a pointy chin. I normally wouldn't count a quincunx aspect to asc in appearance (unless its the chart ruler or maybe the sun) but has anyone said that you look younger than you are?

grandmothermoon - what a cutie She looks like a leo rising, the golden hair and the eyes that catch the sunlight! What is the degree of her asc?

I take it that husband is the father of your daughter as they have some resemblance. If she is leo rising, it could point him to be leo rising then. Because his head is long, it might be the sagittarius decanate. This like ascendants can get replicated in families, that's why we look like our parents!

Hi 8th - what is the Leo 'upper lip' - is it that big dip under her nose? And what is it that tell you 'Pisces' - I'm so new to all of this...........

23, her asc is 5 degrees - she hung on and hung on during the birthing process. But I guess a gemini rising with me in the house would have killed my husband !! and a cancer would have made her way too sensitive! The leo rising gives her a roar and a bite that she uses a lot LOL!

Hubby as a leo rising, Mmmmm, I'll read up on that; I'd never considered it at all and yes, he is her dad

Here are two more of dd - the first is when she decided to cut her own hair (I cried!). She's a real daredevil spirit!

the second was taken a couple of months ago.

Plus a couple more of hubby

All the time. People usually think I'm 10 - 15 years younger than I am and I still get carded every once in a while (which always makes my day).

grandmothermoon - gee your husband is tough! The hazel eyes point to libra, the jaw kind of points to cap as well as eyebrows (or maybe tau), capricorn but the decision is nowhere near final. Where is your husband's saturn? Problem is that if you are a gem, and daughter is a leo, then could dad be say something like sag rising in the aries decanate? That might give him a somewhat pointed chin.....

8th - where are you?? What do you think?

Tigerlily - I take it then with the aspects to asc that you have sun-merc conj?

Hi 23,

He's fascinated to know what you come up with as he really wants to know about his chart!

His saturn is 26 degrees scorpio
I don't know if that helps at all.........

Could he possibly be a sneaky aries rising in the sag decanate?

Hmmmm. Have you gone through those pages of risings that I have talked to you about before? You should start reading up on those and tell me if any of them might fit the way he projects himself...

OK I'm swinging back to sag rising, his eyebrows are rather feathery. Q: where is his venus?

GM Moon,

Your hubby is a Leo sun, Pisces moon? That makes perfect sense that your daughter would be a Pisces sun, Leo rising. Most children have one of the "top 3" (sun, moon, or AC) in the same sign, and usually aspecting at least one of the top 3 of one of the parents (and/or siblings), if not more!

I think your husband is either a Cap rising or Virgo rising. He has a strong earth vibe. Virgo would make sense since you have so much Mercury (Gem sun/rising). I have a Gem moon and get along famously with Virgos who's sun squares my moon...even though you'd think that would cause friction. Those are lifelong friends.

Your daughter w/ the Leo...YES! It's the upper lip. Think of how a lion has the cleft in his upper lip. This shape, as well as the distance from the nose to the upper lip is VERY common with Leos! And as 23 mentioned, her eyes look Leonine. I think it's the distance between the eyes...again...think of a lion. Her coloring is also "golden."

Here is Drew Barrymore when she was in E.T.

Drew is a Pisces sun. I think the resemblence b/t her and your little one is very strong.

take your time, 23. No worries.
Aries rising doesn't sound right from his personality, but I'll have a read through the pages of risings you refer to (if I can find them...........)

His venus is 26 degrees gemini

Can you tell me what a decante is please? You talk about "aries rising in the sag decanate" and that means nothing to me.

Eightmoon, thank you for your insight. I guess he does feel earthy and I am so airy; I've always felt we compliment one another. I love the virgo energy, it helps to ground and focus me. My favourite new moon is the virgo one

I see what you mean about the 'lion look' now - yes; very interesting. My dd adores cats too and seems to be a bit of a whisperer with them LOL!

Ok, off to read some pages of risings........

Yeah I'm kind of swinging back to Capricorn now with virgo decanate (or virgo with cap decanate). But let me think about it but I'll retract Aries ASC....(thanks for your help 8th)

A decanate - there's three decanates to a sign. The first decanate is always the parent sign (eg capricorn decanate of capricorn), the next one is the next chronological one (taurus) and the third one is the one after that (virgo). These affect how a person look and behaves or projects.

So the following are decanate of each sign, they are 10 degrees in length, one sign is 30 degrees in length:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decan

These decanates are then broken up into 2.5 degree segments called dwads:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwad

You can have a look at a project that I'm doing here to see how decanates (and dwads) affect the way a person look if they are Aries ASC (scroll to pages 3 and 4):

Winged_Feet - you wouldn't happen to have another photo? Do you have "bowed" lips?

Wow, yeah, your husband is hot!!

I'm always surprised by how great looking people are on Lindaland...I guess I just expect people posting on the internet to be not-gorgeous...but I guess Linda's fans are an attractive bunch.

I'm not too sure if I look like my rising sign! Would any newbies care to venture a guess?! Here are some clues:

*I am very pale with long, fair hair that reaches the small of my back.
*My eyes are quite big and appear to change colour between blue, green and gray (very odd) - although I have heard that the eyes are ruled by the moon sign - maybe you could try and guess that too!!!
*I have a slim back, but a big bum and boobs and, unfortunately, I was blessed with thunder thighs, lol!!!!!
*My hands and feet are too small in comparison to the rest of me (I'm 5 ft 8").
*I don't like my big nose!

Here's some pics to help you out.....

Sorry - I went all out!!! The fella in the last pic is my other half - you can try and guess his ASC too if you like!
