Mercury I find this planet one of the most interesting. Communication and information in the words highest meanings. Besides our rising sign, this planet must be the first part of our birthchart we share with the world around us. Our way of thought, our way of speech, our intellect in general. Im starting this thread in hope that others will tell me their point of view on their own Mercury placement. Please dont make it so complex, just considering the general characteristics of ur placement. Thx

Mine is in Taurus, in the 7th house. I like to think I'm a practical thinker. I'm pragmatic and I work on the principles of rationale and logic. I also like to think I'm fexible (Sun Gemini) but if I make up my mind on something I can be quite stubborn, apparently. Happy Dragon put up a post about this sign, saying that Taurus Mercury people have to feel the truth of something before they will commit to it. That made me laugh, it still makes me smile a couple of months later. It is absolutely true, spot on. I check facts, I churn things over in my mind before I decide on a course of action. I am very thorough in researching things. My Mercury (distancing myself from all blame) is most annoyed by bullsh!tters, people who argue from a position of emotion/prejudice and my insane mother. Factors on my chart affecting Mercury includes its aspects: He is in a wide Conjunction to Saturn. He is in a close Conjuntion to Venus. He is in a wide Square to Mars. He is in a close Square to the NN. He is Trine Pluto. I try hard to be tactful and reasonable, but if someone annoys me enough I might just rip them a new one. That is very Taurus, isn't it? I have been told my temper is like a boiling kettle. Maybe it should be a bull with steam coming out its nose?

Mercury in Sagittarius in 1st house exactly conjunct Sun here.I live to talk, write and communicate. I have a hunger for information that can never be satisfied. I think a lot about myself and I like to talk about myself in a philosophical, analytical context. I usually try to be diplomatic (I have learned that the hard way), but I hate smalltalk (I just get soo easily bored, if a talk doesn`t fascinate me, and for most of the time I can`t focus long on something that really bores me. Why should I?), and now and then there can be quite impulsive honest remarks; communication develops in a sponaneous way, I never know where it will take me or us, but that`s half the fun of it, isn`t it? And I love learning about myself, about my friends, about the way people "tick", because there is nothing as fascinating in this world as the human psyche. And I love to laugh. I am not funny myself, but I can find a joke in almost every situation. Even though sometimes the joke is on me, I fear. But I`m okay with it, as long as it is a good one.

mercury in Sagittarius, house 9, conjunct sun, uranus, saturn. i have a very rounded education. adept in piano playing and mechanical fixes which, i've been told, are associated with uranus conjunct mercury. as well as breakthroughs in ways of thinking etc. i give credit to my mercury for my great interest in Arab culture/language. I also think introspectively. Enjoy reading philosophy. especially existentialism. A great joke never hurt either . just not a chuck norris one. god those are sooooo dull above mentioned mercury rules my third house and as such i'm fluent in several languages and always interested in learning more. Mercury in Aquarius in the 9th, conjunct Sun, sextile Mars, Saturn/Uranus & Jupiter, trine Moon.I'm not afraid of having wacky ideas and I love arguments. My Mercury is also retrograde so it's easier for me to form my thoughts on paper. When I'm really interested in something, I usually immerse myself in that subject and try to learn everything there is to learn. Once I'm done learning, I cast it aside. IP: Logged |

Mercury in Sagittarius in the 6th House conjunct Neptune, my bread and butter.Sagittarius = big picture. It helps that my Asc is in Gemini, so I am also forced to look at the small details. Having lots of planets in Libra helps me to see all sides to a story. EDIT: I once worked in the creative field with a Capricorn Sun/Mars partner. It was difficult because he would always shoot down my crazy far-out ideas. Though he's an Aqua moon, he wanted us to stick to "tested" formulas. IP: Logged |

*head in hands*It's one of those depressing facts of life that these are the people in charge of decision making in publishing houses and record companies. I'm talking about formula guy, if it isn't obvious. IP: Logged |

Aquarius, 4th house I like and very easily accept innovative ideas! I have a very weird way of thinkig, making too many thougts in a very short time, ending up totally short-circuited...I solve logical problems and equations faster than most teens in my age, but I won't even bother, unless I have first, eaten, slept enough, relaxed ... I like mind games, crosswords, sudoku and puzzles and I many times find brainstrecher games more exciting than videogames. I'm very interested in maths, physics and especially computers, which is my object of studies. I speak too much of my family and usually my first thought before doing anything is their reaction and if they'd approve it. That's all for now. If I remember anything else,,,I'll post :P IP: Logged |

I do have an insane memory and can listen quite well. Sometimes I sound like someone with some knowledge and other times not so much. Uranus aspecting mercury? lol My mind is always going, keep most things to myself until I feel it's safe to share. IP: Logged |

Lots of Sag Mercury here..I'm another one! At 29 degree Sagittarius..in the 2nd house, my Mercury is conjunct my Sun & Neptune in Capricorn, Uranus in Sag., square my Mars in Pisces, and trine my MC in Leo..I can basically 2nd everything the other Sag Mercuries have said here..I love to learn about people, the mind, myself in an analytical way, travel, culture, languages (and I pick these up very easily!), fitness, nutrition, philosophy, sex, relationships, drugs and the idea of alternate realities/dimensions, religion & spirituality, death and rebirth. I do not like small talk because I find it awkward and I know I come across as awkward when I don't know what to say. I find it VERY hard to talk about my emotions or anything very personal, though I am a highly emotional person. My quest for knowledge, any knowledge, and experience..any experience..is insatiable. I live for doing, feeling, and being..I don't care if the experience is good or bad, or anything in between..I just feel more fulfilled knowing that I have gone through different experiences. I'm bored easily (my mind must always be occupied..sometimes I have 10 different windows up at once, all about different things), talk in a superficial and humorous way sometimes to a fault, am bold in speech. I find humor in everything, sometimes inappropriately, and the quirkier the better. Think Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Office..that's my type of humor..it doesn't always make sense. ------------------ Capricorn sun / Scorpio rising / Sagittarius moon Mercury:: Sagittarius Venus::Scorpio Mars::Pisces IP: Logged |

My mercury is in gemini (it's home placement) And I'll be honest- i AM a big talker, and can get superficial about what I'm talking about sometimes. Lol, I'll even give you real example. I has a meeting at work, and when I was answering my manager, a lot of the things I said SOUNDED like I knew what I was talking about....but...I barely knew what I was saying. All I do is add in some technical vocabulary in there, and there you go, it sounds like you know a lot. Anyways, for additional information about my mercury placements. I have Mercury conjunct my Gemini Sun, Opposite my Sag Rising In the 7th house IP: Logged |

Mercury in Leo 28° in 5 House......*** I think it could make me psychologically strong (just thinking about that the other day). *** I have deeply ingrained fixed ideas, even though I can easily be persuaded with general ideas. *** I love to be creative, but in no way a poet or artist. *** I seem to incidentally inspire people. *** I LOVE to explain things to my students, but do not like talking for a long period in the classroom. Thanks for this opportunity to think about Mercury. I probably don't give it the credence it deserves.

Mercury in Gemini in the 10th house conjunct my Sun, really wide trine my Moon, and sextile my Saturn. To me, Mercury is one of my favorite planets. I love communicating with people sincerely. I am not superficial at all. I am a very logical and rational thinker that looks at all sides of an issue. ------------------ Virgo Asc 6˚& Mars 0˚ Gemini Sun 24˚ Libra Moon 14˚(conjunct Pluto 0˚ in 2nd house) Gemini Mercury 25˚ Cancer Venus 29˚ And yes, i'm a guy!
