On the recent Mars thread, there were a few people who say they don't show their inner anger. What about in the privacy of your own home?

In the privacy of my home, I am known to break out into rants every now and then. Mr blue moon smiles indulgently particularly at my top two:

Thatcher ruined Britain

Teenage girls waiving their t!ts and arses on T.V. Haven't they any higher aspirations in life?

He has heard them SO many times.

The first one reflects my age and social background. The second is definitely Mars in Aqua pushing through. (Before anyone says it's my age, I said the same thing as a teenage girl and I've not changed my mind.)

The first one leads on to a myriad of rants relating to housing, but they are more rational and tend to mellow into a two-way discussion of political issues of the day.

This is usually my biggest rant. I usually say "You can't trust anyone. That's why you have to be so careful about everything!!! Just think, when we are elderly we could be easily scammed. It's scary"

Actually, that's what I say almost word for word everytime!!

-Paris Hilton annoys the crap out of me! I see her and I have to turn the channel.

-Getting hit on by guys with an Asian fetish.

-Girls who wear really, really high heels, but look like tetering idiots cause they can't walk in them.

-Being held up at a toll booth by the person who does not have their money out, ready to pay.

-People who say "like" and "ya know" too much!

-Girls who take 2 bites of food, and say they're full.

-Talking to a person with huge eye boogers in their eyes.

-People who lie.

That's my list.

Friend of mine I used to work with is 4 foot 10. I've been in clubs and bars with her and at least 3 guys a night would come up to her, pat her on the head and say: aren't you cute! Like she was a little kid.

But usually it's about character flaws of people in power/with status..government and religious fundies especially. I love to criticize and rant about policies/laws/rules/social norms/societal expectations/individuality/etc.

Feminist rants about how men should learn how to recognize their privilege in this society, and how telling women to "not go out at night" to not get raped is stupid, we should be telling men NOT TO RAPE WOMEN how about that. And how purity balls/rings are creepy like its worshiping hymens. When people say things like "SHE'S TOO SKINNY/FAT" Etc.

How Coach bags and LV/Gucci monogram bags are so tacky and new money. And Christian Dior is dead, people. John Galliano designs the womens wear for the house. Etc.

He was blacklisted for chasing a taxman down the street with a garden fork. He was about 80 at the time.

When he died, my dad sorted out his paperwork. Sure enough, the tax man had taken some money off him incorrectly and he was due a shilling back pay. That must work out something like 10 cents in modern money. He was right, wasn't he?

--Most people like that are not really interested in a genuine dialogue, so I don't bother sharing my thoughts with them. Why say something they won't really hear? Plus, with Mars in Virgo and Merc in Sco my counterarguments are very thorough, and I don't want to waste my breath on someone who likely has the attention span of a gnat. But I sometimes need to let out all the counterarguments to their frustrating idiocy, so I rant to my poor beloveds.

The Council
Especially regarding not putting match funding into projects involving the restoration of historic buildings which would ultimately save them a lot of money, attract loads of free money and make the city beautiful, rather than the uninteresting and generic heap of plastic and chrome crap it's becoming.

People who don't recycle or use charity shops but shove everything in the bin. People who litter. Parents who let their kids litter.

People who have children and then don't bother with them.
Children as accessories, or as an addition because they're so unimaginative they can't think of anything else better to do rather than reproduce without thinking. Men who have children with multiple parters are the worst offenders. God you are such a man *swooooon* (not)

I know it's not Friday anymore but rainy days and Mondays always get me down, so there.

What about?

The many kinds of Human stupidity, mainly (Sun in Capricorn has something to do with that, I think)

Unfairness of any sort. Chauvinism. People who pretend to be smarter than they really are. Women who think assertively is something to be afraid of. Kids who think they are entitled to everything. Clueless journalists (those who cover tennis without knowing anything about it are a special annoyance).

Women who have nothing better to do than intimidate and degrade other women, usually through gossip.

Women who have nothing better to do than degrade themselves and talk about how many calories they ate today and how many diets they are/have been on.

Men who want to be possessive of the woman they are with and yet want to sleep around themselves.

People who are shallow. I could really care less about what you look like, what you're wearing or who you're with, so get over yourself.

People who think that, in politics, defamation of character is far more important than looking at the ISSUES.

People who aren't grateful for what they have in life, ESPECIALLY when they have a lot. (If you've got a car, a job, a roof over your head, food to eat, water to drink, and don't live in a war zone you are far luckier than most of the world is right now).
