I have been going through a few old threads just picking through this and that to get some understanding etc and I have noticed a lot of talk on the 7th house being the home of marriage. If this is true can some one explain it to me in regards to how the signs flavour the house etc? And for my dear transatlantic Virgoes....Where I come from we speak the Queens' English so as far as I'm concerned my spelling is correct. LOL. IP: Logged |

From what I understand the sign that rules the 7th house shows the qualities you may seek in relationships or partners. The planet that rules the 7th house indicates these tastes as well. For instance I have Taurus on my DESC/7th house ..in fact I do not really like Taurus sun men but I am very attracted to Taurus ASC, Taurus moon, and Taurus mars men..and because Venus is Taurus' planet it rules my 7th so I look for harmony, romance, sensuality, etc in my relationships. If someone had Aquarius on their 7th they may seek detachment, independence, and a more intellectual bond with their partner. Uranus would be the ruler so that person may also seek unconventional relationships, and maybe a little chaos ------------------ Capricorn sun / Scorpio rising / Sagittarius moon Mercury:: Sagittarius Venus::Scorpio Mars::Pisces IP: Logged |

A post to please LL grammarians. 7th house is about giving as well as getting. It's the qualities you offer. Saturn can serve as an example, he's in my 7th in Taurus: I get ~> I settled down young with a careerist Saturnian type, he's ten years older. Hard-working man, intelligent, mature. I give ~> I take on responsibility in relationships. I do the family finances, get the car mended, I take care of business. I am ready to take care of the older people in the family when they need help. Taurus is a practical sign, she does things for people. It is also a sensual sign, concerned with the physical. So these things become important in close relationships. Mercury and Venus are also in Taurus in the 7th on my chart. The Sun is there in Gemini. IP: Logged |

Some more thoughts on this ~ Libra is the natural occupant of this house. The Scales weigh things up, they make things fair. So that's maybe why the 7th feels like it is about what you give as well as what you get. Relationships tend to involve compromise so that enters into the picture of the balance of the 7th house. Mars wouldn't be anyone's first pick for a planet suited to make a harmonious tenant for the 7th house. By nature he belongs at the opposite side of the circle, in the 1st house. He's aggressive and concerned with the self. But don't think I mean that is necessarily bad, it's not doom. He is working hard here, he is applying his energy into relationships and doing things for other people. In Taurus, sure, he can kick off and get aggressive. But he would have to be provoked first. Taurus is a Venusian sign. So she is happy in the 7th. The earthy sensuality of Taurus works well in this house. I'd say Mars in Taurus in the 7th means you are prepared to work at relationships, but you expect to get something out of it. You will only be imposed upon for so long, if at all. Also, being such a sensual sign, I'm going to take a wild guess that the physical side of close relationships are important, where that applies - traditionally this is the house of partnerships and that could include the business as well as the marital type. Like I say, I have 3 planets in Taurus in this house; two of them Square Mars. It really is a 'p!ss-takers need not apply' situation. My gut feeling is that you may be rather like that as well. LOL - Spot on BM! Game players need not apply at all!! I take my relationships very seriously. Funny thing is I am dealing with a situation like that right now....Friend only take take takes....getting ready to stomp around I am. To be serious now, I do put in the hard yards as far as relationship with significant others but at this stage in life I am being held hostage by Uranus LOL, He/She is waving the freedom flag & banging on the tom toms, refusing to be collared! This is conflicting for my Libra Sun. Oh dear IP: Logged |

I feel ya on this one spunky -- tUranus has been traversing my 7th house for YEARS and when he finally hits 23 Pisces, perhaps I can finally get away from these sudden, electric attractions and the constant feeling of needing to be free and independent. Actually, I've had it up to here with being free and independent -- I want the pendulum (or Scales ) to swing back the other way: we need some BALANCE here!! IP: Logged |

My Mars in Libra 7th House.I tolerate a lot in relationships. I tend to see the person instead of the behaviour. But when the behaviour becomes too much, I will say my piece. Then if that doesn't do anything to change the situation, I tend to change my mindset in order to cope. To leave a relationship is something I would not normally consider. I will work on every possible solution before that entered my mind. I've grown up a lot. I left my first love when I was 22. My strategy for leaving was tactless. I had good reasons for leaving, but could have done it a better way. My Aries rising and Venus/Uranus/Pluto stellium would say "See ya later. I'm off for my next adventure. Life is great, fun and I'm here to LIVE!!!" These days, I'm more thoughtful and consider life-long consequences. Besides, when Libra Mars matches up with Taurus Mars, it can be very nice AND her North Node is conjunct my Mars in my 7th by 4° - so we'll be sticking together for a while!! IP: Logged |

Actor. Sailor. Oil Rig worker. Opal miner. Workaholic. My astro-answer is Uranian types. Strong contact between Uranus and the Sun and/or Moon. I'm one. With the Taurus Stellium, I work better with someone with a strong Earth component. Something in my instincts steered me away from the Cancerian types, back in my youth I thought I couldn't really handle someone gentle and sensitive although I found this type of man insanely attractive (still do). The major examples I am thinking of were a Cancer Sun and a Cancer Moon. Though I didn't really think about it in those terms then. One had Aqua Sun/Mercury and we got along so comfortably, but there was always that qualm. His Moon exactly Squared my Uranus which says everything. On the other side of the street I seem to have a prediliction for Aquarian workoholics. Best childhood friend, college friend, and now husband. They all sat in a room together once when I first introduced Mr bm. They laughed and said: let me guess, you're an Aquarius, too. Mr bm has the workoholic's hallmark signature Sun CNJ Saturn (in Aqua). He also has Moon in Taurus and Mercury in Capricorn. He's not a 9 to 5 pipe and slippers man, but he doesn't mess me about behaving like a prat, either. quote: ......I need someone who loves me but doesn't want to live with me or otherwise will let me have a bedroom to myself
The older you get the easier it should be to find someone to accommodate these needs. If I was single in the future, I can't imagine wanting to have another live-in relationship. I don't see the problem with separate rooms. A good night's sleep is essential and if you need a little bit of space and can afford it, it's not too much to ask. I'd make you a great girlfriend, Spunkini. You can have the spare room, but only on weekends. IP: Logged |

spunk - blue moon is right on. Go for the Uranians! They'll work obsessively but erratically whenever inspiration hits, which means you'll often have the bed all to yourself to sleep in.Btw, your spelling is appalling. "Flavour," what the hell is that about? Learn English! *stupid American straps on her magenta fanny pack and falls in uncovered manhole b/c she's too busy taking photos to watch where she's going* IP: Logged |

There's just one teensy problem I have.....their "friends"! Now the ladies arent to bad in this dept in my experience but the men! oh Lordy...NO, they bring home the weirdest people. LOLIP: Logged |

Hey koiflower, I have to tell you a funny story since we're on the subject....An aqua friend of mine told me that when she was younger she was misbehaving & her American step mum told her that "if she didn't behave she was going to smack her fanny"! poor girl was hysterical screaming & crying & the poor step mother had to be told what she had actually said...hilarious!
