Does anyone have a Sesquiquadrate on their chart? I have Moon Conjunct Pluto Sesquiquadrate Mars. It's a little scary. But interesting, given the explanation associating it with Scorpio and Pluto below.
quote: The octile family of aspects include semi-squares and sesqui-quadrartes. A semi- square is measured from plus or minus forty-five degrees. A sesqui-quadrate is measured from plus or minus one hundred and thirty five degrees. The semi-square and sesqui-quadrate represent one eighth and five eighths of a circle respectively. Two eights is a quarter or square. Four eights is an opposition. These aspects are related. To some extent, key words for the opposition and more so the square can also be applied to the semi-square and the sesqui-quadrate. These aspects can be harsh and react sharply and abruptly. They can indicate a need to act for the future. Resistance is likely. There's a need to keep cool, act cautiously and make the best of things. It's time to resolve rather than ignore problems. Octiles resonate with Pluto, Fixed, Water and Scorpio energy.

quote: Semi-square, sesquiquadrate and quincunx are all minor tense aspects. Psychologically their effect may be seen as a very weak version of the square. Some astrologers give 'them additional importance in predicting events.

Moon Sesquiquadrate Mars quote: You may feel confused about the world of feelings until you know yourself better, for your means of asserting yourself emotionally is out of tune with the emotional set-up you are searching for. You may even be somewhat inhibited from expressing how you feel, for fear that it will trigger off negative feelings in others, or damage them in some way.
Mars Sesquiquadrate Pluto quote: You may feel somewhat confused over issues of self-assertion, since for you acting on the basis of your feelings is tied in with notions of domination and power. You may feel inhibited from committing yourself through fear, or you may act compulsively at times. As you mature, you will learn that assertion and power are distinct entities, and will learn more flexibility.
Scroll down the page for interpretations by planets. It includes other minor aspects for those interested.
http://www.achernar.btinternet.co.uk/interpretation.html I wouldn't say I was confused about my feelings, it sounds more like something I worked through as a child, finding out that it is often best to keep raw emotions under wraps.
It ties into the rest of the chart, which shows up my bad temper. It's something I've learned to keep under control, to channel constructively. I'm not always successful. IP: Logged |

I have Sun/Merc sesquiquadrate Mars. Also between Saturn and Neptune. quote: Saturn Semisquare or Sesquiquadrate Neptune You are likely to feel confused over the duties that exist for you in the real world and the obligations you imagine yourself to have to yourself and others in your inner world. This can lead to some difficulties in handling reality appropriately, at least while you are young, and dis- appointment may result through unrealistic hopes and expectations.
Fitting given today's ramblings from me.

quote: You may feel somewhat confused when it comes to organising your experiences, for you are rather self-conscious about your methods, feeling that they conflict with how you think you ought to understand the world in theory. With experience, you will learn that your methods are perfectly alright, even if they sometimes seem rather alien to yourself or to other people.

dpEating my lunch and posting at the same time, lol. That was meant to be Mercury Sesqui Uranus. Thanks, Lara, for bringing that one to my attention, apparently it is one we share! It makes sense. Sometimes my bizarre leaps of subject and lateral thinking can be embarrassing, but helpfully, I had an eccentric aunt with whom I used to play Trivial Pursuits. So I know where it comes from, it's a genetic thing. One of my sons has the Trine, as part of a Grand Trine. He won't just read through a book, he'll look all over the page and launch into ancedotes about the pictures. IP: Logged |

But interesting, given the explanation associating it with Scorpio and Pluto below. My personal opinion, better to have a 135 than to have a trine, because they are more dynamic. You can get more out of it, it is more usuable.
Venus 135 asc is a good thing to have. Mercury 135 Uranus IS much better than those 2 in trine. 135 is 3/8 right? So wheras the trine is 360/3-120 which signifies harmony beacause 3 represents harmony,, the 45 degree series is about usuable dynamic tension, half of a square. The natural electromagnetic field of the earth itself shows peaks in a graph at 45 degree intervals. So 3/8 is very nice combo of the 2 energies. provisimo ------------------ unspecified WORM IP: Logged |

I wouldn't associate Saturn with only stubbornness. Restrictions, karma, authority figures and hidden fears (especially in the 12th house) are a few things that come to mind. IP: Logged |
