The libra eventually left because she was sick of the fighting. With a bit more patience and understanding on the aries end, it could have worked out.
The aries was sort of like a tank (or king ) when dealing with the libra. Maybe he was afraid she was gonna leave, but you know, you have to just let the libra be free, if they love you they aren't going anywhere.
