I was looking at the synastry chart between myself & another, and found all sorts of conjunctions between asteroids and planets. That got me wondering what Sappho, Eros, Psyche, Vertex, Adonis, etc., mean to a relationship. Do you use them in your synastry calculations? How about your name asteroids - do they have any significance in synastry? In the synastry chart between myself & one who is very possibly my soulmate, I found: my Psyche conjunct his Moon & North Node, my Saturn conjunct his Vertex & Lilith, my Vertex & MC conjunct his Saturn, my Juno & Eros conjunct his Uranus, my Adonis, Part of Fortune & Moon conjunct his Sappho & AC, my name-asteroid conjunct his name-asteroid, my Mercury & Mars conjunct his Adonis, my Sun conjunct his Eros & Psyche, my Anteros conjunct his Venus & Pallas, my Venus, IC & Pholus conjunct his South Node, Mars & Vesta, my South Node & Sappho conjunct his IC & Chiron. A lot of these were almost exact conjunctions too; I'm very fascinated by all this. Can any of our knowledgeable knowflakes shed some light on this? Thanks! Sunshine IP: Logged |

Hi, this is a handy little list I use that you might want to print out. It's not synastry but it may still help you out a bit. You can find out where these asteroids are placed in your chart at astro.com in the Extended Chart section, down at the bottom there is an area where you can type the asteroid number in.I know there were some threads going on in Astrology and here in SU, about asteroids and synastry. Take a look a few pages back. If I run across them I'll pull them up for you. Asteroid # -- Name -- Meaning 1 -- Ceres -- Mother, nuturing, feeding emotional and physical needs. Taking care of each other 3 -- Juno -- Commited and bonded relationships, marriage, legal ties and protection of rights within the relationship. 4 -- Vesta -- Devotion and dedication to beliefs, tantric sex and passion for ritual. Sex as spiritual transformation. 16 -- Psyche -- Perseverance of love, connection of a psychic nature, awakening of intuition, soul seeking completion. 80 -- Sappho -- Sexual attraction, deep appreciation of self an others, poetic, artistic, refined and cultured. Very passionate. 433 -- Eros -- Erotic love, sexual or creative revelation that brings two people together to form a lasting transformation. 763 -- Cupido -- The look of love, aware of image, being tantalized by the reflection, seeing is exciting or foreboding. 1221 -- Amor -- Love as felt idealisically, romanticize in pure and unconditional thought, not necessarily sexual. 1388 -- Aphrodite -- Impulsive love and attraction, love inspired by fated events, animosity turning to magnetism, charisma. 1943 -- Anteros -- The brother of Eros, love returned, or love avenged. The answer to love's longing, a place to finally meet. 2101 -- Adonis -- Spell bound love, sexual magnetism, the desire to arouse, please and fulfill the beloved. Potent tie. 4450 -- Pan -- Seductive and earthy sensuality, creative, wily, and likely to instill "panic" to produce change or contact. IP: Logged |

Hi Sunshine! I have recently began to study the asteroids in relation to synastry. What has most amzed me is this: the synastry tends to mirror the majority of the planet contacts...in other words, the asteroids bascially repeat the same theme as the traditional planets in synastry. I was amazed at this! That was a nice list 26t! If you want to look further, this is a great website for learning: http://erosastrology.proboards26.com/index.cgi?board=asteroid Hope this helps too! 26taurus, Wow, thanks much for that detailed list with the asteroid number & all! I'll take a look back for the older threads...GemStar, that is an AMAZING website; thank you SO much for that! I've been browsing through a few of the threads there & they sure have a wealth of info on the asteroids!! So the asteroids pretty much reinforce the synastry of the traditional planets - do you think they add much to synastry, then? You know, I was just reading the neatest thread at that site about the name-asteroids, that linked to an article where they discussed how the name-asteroids were significant in several high profile cases (like the Clinton-Lewinsky one, and also when Diana & Dodi died). Eerie!! I think it was one of your threads, GemStar, that made me think to check mine in the first place. Cool stuff!! Sunshine IP: Logged |

Hi Sunshine...as far as adding to the synastry, I would have to reply YES!Many astrologers poo-poo the asteroids as 'just rocks in space'. However when you look closer at the energy that they bring to a person or synastry, it is hard to deny the fact that they do influence!! Chiron, Juno, Ceres, Sappho, Eros are the main ones I am following now and several things that I had not really paid attention to in the (just planets)synastry with my man really jumped out! Kim Falconer is an amazing source of knowledge. Read through the threads there and you will learn so much! IP: Logged |

Glad this was bumped!"My name asteroid on my natal chart is conjunct his name asteroid on his natal chart by 2 degrees aspecting." I have found the name asteroid connections to be very consistent! Love it! I have also found them to fall into very interesting patterns in progressed charts. 8th IP: Logged |

Mel,I think the progressed charts tell us a lot and can act as "timers" in our lives. See what house the progressed names fall into, what aspects they make, etc. My progressed sun is conjunct my business partner's asteroid name, and my NN. This is also conj my sun/moon MP and HIS progressed DC! Guess we were meant to meet at THIS time in our lives... 8th IP: Logged |

Sunshine....I wonder if u have learned any more of asteroids by now? Do u know anything about MArs conjunct Psyche Pluto conjunct Psyche I thot it was interesting how u noted that these asteroids mirror/repeat the influence/themes of the planets. Does Pyche conjunct mars then ast as a subsitute for Mars conjunct Venus? IP: Logged |

That Kim Falconer..I feel that she focuses only on Eros...everybody does. Maybe Im not looking at the right place...but I have an interest in Psyche...as I see MArs cnjct my Psyche and Pluto cnjct my Psyche in our Synastry. Also My Adonis is in his 7th house. His Adonis is in my 7th House as well. The Eros aspect is His Eros cnjct my Saturn. IP: Logged |

I am personally very interested in Vesta & Ceres in a synastry/composite situation. My hubby and I have a LOT of contacts of each other's planets and axis to both.As for asteroids being used in synastry, I get a feeling that...ok, I'm going to use imagery.... Take a big vase (the relationship) and put in some big rocks (planets, nodes & asc/dec). Next, put in some gravel and sand (asteroids & house placements). If feels to me that asteroids just as the flavors of the relationship. The bare bones would be the planet contacts, Lunar nodes, and asc/dec axis. This is probably why I haven't really looked at asteroids until recently. @GemStar I'll check out Kim Falconer's site! Sounds interesting! I've been lurking here for a while and I have heard of it quite a few times but never been. IP: Logged |

You know, I was just thinking that the other day. I have this relationship with this guy that has a ton of venus/mars/pluto stuff going on. We do have some eros and pysche stuff too (like venus conjunct eros and then pysche square eros and also sextile) anyways...I got to wondering about that, then I had a thought. First off planets are planets, bigger and closer than most of those astriods anyways and have more energy wrapped up in them so they would by that logic be more powerfully felt yes? I am not downing astroids, love them. Just thinking. So question? which is more powerful? venus conjunct mars or pysche conjunct eros? IP: Logged |

I like Venus conjunct angels myself. In fact, anything contacting another's angel is significant to me (-/+ 1 deg). My husband's Juno conjunct my Asc exact and I do view him as a househusband who watches all men's eyes around me. LOL! I could run around naked but so help the man that looks! ------------------ ♥♥♥♥♥ All you need is love ♥♥♥♥♥ IP: Logged |
