I find it very disheartening that in my mind, girls are no matter what they say, attracted to the bad boy image (someone who basically doesn't give a f*ck), even if they want to settle down with a stable, secure man. Don't try to convince me otherwise, because it won't work- I've seen it way to many times.

well, personally me, I used to go for 'bad boy'-types...the ones who couldn't 'do' feelings, who disrespected me, who were overall immature.
Then, along came Brian, the guy I'm with right now, and I like and appreciate him for his sweetness, his general openness to emotion, willingness to be there for me (and vice versa), and respect for taking this all slow cause I have been hurt by the more callous types. He's very masculine, yet down to earth and comfortable with working hard.
I've got myself a good guy, and I wouldn't have it any other way...

"Every good guy has some bad in him, and every bad guy has some good in him.. and a lot of it comes down to what you consider "good" or "bad"."

Perfectly said.

LOL this topic is about to go scarily off course! haha

nove- oh okay (I hope you're telling the truth cos a) I'm EXTREMELY gullible! and b) sarcasm is so hard to tell through the internet... and I'm very gullible, did I say that? lol)

AG- Worrying... but I agree!

Yep good guys are definitely better, but you can guarantee that as soon as I start putting my hopes on one he'll end up being a prick to me. It's just sod's law.

Just find a guy who can speak some Klingon.
Bonus points if you have a nice picture of him in a uniform at a Trek convention as a potential blackmail source.
He'll be nice to you for-ev-er

OK, diverging a bit: Who here not only likes nice guys, but nice Geeks?
They're my favorite
My own geek makes me feel all tingly when he starts talking about his obsession(s).

Lauren- Yeah I guess. It's probably just the fact that I feel so lonely! I *feel* like I need one or something like one, I crave it. Don't understand why. My Mum was the same at my age. No one else my age feels like this. Haha maybe I'm special.

proxie- I like bad geeks. They are my all time favourite
You know, like they kind of like naff cool things, have naff sayings and can be a bit dim sometimes, but they're also strangely handsome, charismatic and still up to no good!

Prox,

I don't think you're alone in the geek fetish, but personally I can't deal with them.

However, if a girl looks like a geek and acts like a dork, then I'm perfectly ok.

I can't deal with Star Trek, or a lot of fantasy stuff on the obsessive level. I don't mind some fantasy in an entertainment medium like tv, but that's it, and even then I won't watch Charmed, Buffy, or Smallville.

I do wonder what you'd make of my Aries roommate, though. Are you ok with loads of dusty models of military vehicles in living areas, posters of Star Trek on the wall (even schematics, even in his bedroom), and more Star Trek ornaments and models throughout his spaces? Oh, I could go on and on.
