Hi there, people. I am very glad to be here, once again. This time I am asking about this aspect: Mercury Square Jupiter. Yes, I have it in my Chart. Yet I know more people that have it too, and they seem to be smart. So I would like to know everything you already know about this aspect in particular. Is it absolutely everything hard about Mercury Square Jupiter? Could it somehow increase the intelligence of the native? Be dead sincere. Thanks!

well well i actually have this aspect too!! merc in sag and jup in virgowhat ive read on the topic is that it tends to be a more negative aspect like alot of exxageration when telling stories or anything really, making promises that you can't keep, being overllyyy optimistic and having a scatter brain. basically being veryyy sagittarian. i defff agree with it for myself lol heres what cafeastrology says... Mercury square or opposition Jupiter You love to express your ideas, sharing them with others quite readily. Jumping to conclusions can be a problem in your life. You often overlook details, preferring to discover the "big picture" quickly. Your thinking and studying habits are not always orderly or disciplined, and this can of course result in sloppiness. Especially with the opposition, you might vacillate between logical, precise thinking and an optimistic conclusion-drawing bent of mind, and in the process, it can be challenging for you to truly get to the heart of a subject or to focus for very long. You may confuse others with a critical flaw-finding conversation one moment, and an overly faithful and unrealistic opinion the next. While your intentions are generally good, you might overestimate what you are capable of, and promise more than you can deliver. Be careful not to develop a reputation for being unreliable, simply because you desire to make others happy with what you say or promise. You are inclined to exaggerate, often without meaning to, and you might have a hard time putting your ideas into practice. In an attempt to attach greater meaning to your thoughts and ideas, you might frequently overstate or overestimate. You can be extraordinarily funny and interesting. You possess an acute but disorderly mind; you can come to rapid conclusions without knowing all the facts. You must learn to be more disciplined, to concentrate more on details and to be more persistent with your projects. You are very generous and optimistic though your optimism can sometimes distance you from reality. -- sample from the Adult report. IP: Logged |

How to post your chart… http://www.linda-goodman.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ubbmisc.c gi?action=getannounce&ForumNumber=11&Start=2455736.99&End=2459389&Session= asking about just one aspect in a chart is mssing out on the other 2/3 of possibly information. I need to know what signs these two are in and what houses they are in and what 'other aspects' they have...? genercially without the relevaent info then, mercury tends to overtalk when it should be quiet and undertalk when it needs to talk --- on occasions.. Mercury square Jupiter "The square of Mercury with Jupiter shows a tendency to entertain ideas too grandiose for realization. You are too optimistic and rush to attempt projects that are beyond your capabilities. Often there is discrepancy between your beliefs and the actual truth. You are impulsive in judgment, making decisions on insufficient information. Details get lost in the process. Be careful not to overlook the negative potential in your actions. You will have to concentrate on listening, because this is a challenge for you. Sometimes this square shows an aversion or mental block to religion or philosophical thinking." http://www.skyscript.co.uk/mercuryaspects.html#mesju ------------------ I love the parable, “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, BUT if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for life.” IP: Logged |

Mercury in Saggi is in detriment but can be philosophical, broadminded and free thinking. I have Jupiter in Virgo retro, and is in fall, this is all about details, details and more details. virgo and scorpio make great detectives and enjoy research to So your mercury may talk big have big ideas even and like you said tends to exaggerate and over promise things... ------------------ I love the parable, “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, BUT if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for life.” IP: Logged |

Firstly, I thank you both for answering because you were not obligated to do it. It’s true that I can overlook details and that I can’t listen to people sometimes, and I see that Lauren feels the same way about it. Although I suspect, without any intent to boast and almost to the point of mortification, that those who have this Aspect usually have a superior intelligence that they can’t use properly. I found this piece of writing by Robert Hand on this topic: “This aspect usually means that you have a sharp mind and great ability to understand ideas that aren't obvious to others, but you will need a lot of discipline to make the most of it”. What do you think? I have two more questions: 1. Is it right that CafeAstrology talks about two different Aspects – the Square and the Opposition – in the same entry? 2. I don’t have any problem about posting my Chart, but I use Sidereal Astrology and the House System Whole Signs. Do you think I should post it anyway, SaggiMC? If you think so, please let me thank you for your readiness to analyze an Aspect that is not yours. Thanks, once again.

Man, I read my reply, once again, and I'm still mortified. ------------------ “Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free.” IP: Logged |

I'm sorry I cannot work with sidereal charts OR whole signs....surely there are forums in India or who use Vedic around. 99.9% use western tropical and the default on astro.com is placidus and I personal use Equal house.. I have mercury close trine to jupiter, but merc is retro conj venus, but do enjoy research as Jup in virgo loves details... IP: Logged | |
