It was a higher step from jealousy not so much beaing threatened. He did feel secure but he thought there was some connection between you and V if this makes sense. Like in terms of what you may have talked to with V. Something along these lines. He trusted you but something bugged him when V was mentioned in any way.
So trust issues werent towards you but towards V. He felt a vibe around V that made him feel that way.
So it wasnt because of you but he didnt trust V our of his own insecurities.

Thank you IF, this would make sense too. I remember chatting to him on whatsapp once when were together, and i mentioned V in the text, and then he just went offline. I mentioned when i met V because i dont like to keep things from him.
