I once owned a light multi-gear bike -- called it my banana-yellow Peugeot. Had saved my money for a year, in order to get it!!

Before the Peugeot, during my Freshman semesters, I used the heavier coaster-brake bike, with rear-wheel baskets for porting my books. Not a good idea, because when I'd hit a bump, the books could bounce OUT. -- That happened at the end of one semester near the final exams. Notebook fell into puddle. I had used a flair marking pen, and the water washed my study notes off the pages!! oh nooo. I switched to the more permanent ink of ballpoint pens afterwards.

I owned that bike since I was 8 years old. Would use it to ride the 20 miles back and forth to college each day. Later, the Peugeot made the ride considerably easier for subsequent years. Had to balance the load of backpack instead of baskets.

I had a very early-morning class one summer semester, and had recently discovered this rural like road.

My University had an Agriculture department. Found the road to be a pleasant back-way, serving as a shortcut to a particular building on campus.

This road was very wide and well-kept. Was a sweeping fast downhill roll, along this expansive beautiful green set of fields. Looked like a living piece of artwork!

You'd see sections of corral fencing, with groupings of various farm-animals grazing in each.

Was a truly SURREAL pastoral scene!
The early morning sunlight made it extra-special-- outlined the beauty in a way that other-times could not. Traffic was lighter. Road had wide shoulders, and was paved smooth.

Made my heart happy to ride by it each day one summer--

Before finding that road, I used one that was coarse and more-narrow (on a steeper hilly) road.

There was a horse-racing farm along a section of the road close to home. Had a group of cows grazing portions of the field, different times of day.

So! *grin*

On the ride home, right on the end of the street where I turned off to go to my place, there would be a group of 'cows' that seemed to be aware of my schedule-- maybe waiting for me?!!

(My cat did too-- she'd daily wait for my arrival in a certain sunny window. I'd see her!! She'd perk up, to come to the door. Was my soulmate!!)

With the set of cows congregated at the end corner of that field, near the turn-off for my street, I'd stop my bike. Would rip handfuls of fresh tall grasses that they couldn't reach through the barbwire fence. . .
I'd have the pleasure of feeding them these grasses.
heh heh, When my friends had an attraction to horses?, I'd loved the cows instead.
(Must be my Jupiter in Cancer! H8)

Anyways, I loved that long sweeping ride downhill along the Agriculture Fields, early in the morning. The dew was on the fields.

As I reached a certain peak on that hill, the biking became downhill and very fast. Loved the sense of the wind in my face and hair. In my Heart, this song would break out. I'd feel like I was soaring. Would fill my soul with much inspiration!!!
