quote: Hi, I'm Snake Lady - and my Saturn Return has just ended (HUGE sigh of relief). I was wondering if someone could give me an astrological reading for the coming year on career and finance, as those will be my main focus. I’m not necessarily looking for a romance reading, but if anything significant jumps out at you, do feel free to tell. I’m currently an electrical engineering student. I’ve been working hard on this degree, but it’s been almost like a nightmare during my Saturn Return. I don’t want to quit, because I think my struggles with it are temporary and caused by things other than the major itself, but it’s been a long time since I started on this path and I’m eager to be doing something I feel is aligned with my soul. I think this degree will open up more opportunities than quitting will, but I would appreciate a second opinion.

To do this assessment, the natal chart and its derivatives need to be explored together ... because nothing can happen in life (i.e.. the material world) that is not "promised" in the natal chart. Hence progression, transit, planet return, synastry and relationship charts cannot reveal events which are not supported by what is "promised" in the natal chart. Moreover, each of these charts can tell us ONLY what the incarnating soul intended the chart owner to learn from them ... and the extent to which that happens in reality depends upon the freewill decisions made by the one-lifetime ego that is accompanying the soul in the current incarnation. Thus, a "cold reading" by an astrologer can only reveal where the chart-owner was "coming from" at the moment of birth - and where he/she was intending to "go to" during (and by the end of) the current incarnation. Hence, the natal chart is like the portrait of Dorian Gray - seemingly fixed at the moment of birth, but actually changing constantly throughout life to reflect the person's freewill actions. So ... with that in mind ... let's now think of the Saturn Return Chart as a glimpse of what the "portrait of the chart owner" was intended to look like after he/she had been in his/her current incarnation for some 30 years. I'm confused, Graham, I thought you were going to elaborate more and I was letting you know I was here and on board. I wasn't sure what feedback you were looking for at this point. Do you want to know more about what my Saturn and Jupiter Returns were like? IP: Logged |

You used the word "fantastic" ... which, in the UK, can mean "I do not agree with your view/belief/fantasy". Hence, I concluded that there is no point in expanding upon it. However, in the light of your above-quoted comment, I have now begun that expansion in the next reply on this thread. IP: Logged |

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ quote: Could someone give me an astrological reading for the coming year on career and finance, as those will be my main focus.
We first need to ascertain what is promised for "career and finance" in the natal chart (which is posted below). Here, the 10th house of career is ruled by Jupiter (in Gemini/4th); 6th house of paid work is ruled by Moon (in Cancer/6th); 8th house of money from employers is ruled by Venus (in Leo/6th house) and the "money signs" (Taurus + Scorpio) are respectively ruled by Venus + Mars (in Leo/6th) and Pluto (in Scorpio/9th). So ... these are the planets whose "natal promise" will impact upon your career and finances. ... And they will do so as and when activated by progressions, transits, returning planets + synastry/relationship contacts with other people. Hence, our first task is to ascertain which of those natal planets are actually being activated in 2021. ... And our second task is to identify the "natal promise" of each of those ACTIVATED planets. "2021" is the 12months period between your 2021 birthday and the day before your 2022 birthday - which is 4th July 2021 to 3rd July 2022 for you. ... And, we need to look at the progressed + transits charts for that period - to identify what (if anything) is aspecting the "career and finance" planets in the natal chart. I have done that, and identified the following aspects :- 1. Progressed Sun square Natal Pluto. 2. Transit Uranus opposite Natal Pluto. This indicates that Pluto will be the only career-and-finance natal planet which will be activated by both progressions AND transits. ... So, the "natal promise" of Pluto will be the career-and-finance focus in 2021. IP: Logged |

Having identified Pluto as the only career-and-finances natal planet that is being activated in the period from 4th July 2021 to 3rd July 2022, we now look again at the natal chart - to ascertain what is "promised" there for Pluto. There, we find Pluto is part of a Decorative Figure ... which is an aspect-pattern consisting of Pluto-Mars-Sun + a Saturn/Neptune conjunction. ... And, the Huber School of Astrology asserts that this pattern indicates a person who :- "aspires to perfection and uniqueness. Is able to convert tension into harmony; unite the ugly and the beautiful; break hard truths gently; easily find mistakes and quickly rectify the mistakes that are found. She is well-informed about things that others don't know about (such as from where and whom attitude and mood come), has good filtering ability and the potential to develop a diplomatic aptitude." This is (of course) a very clear description of a "trouble-shooter" - that rarest of employees, which every employer wants in his/her Organisation. ... And transformational Pluto in Scorpio/9th is "promising" to make you a trouble-shooter. IP: Logged |

How Progressed Sun and Transit Uranus will Activate the Natal Pluto Promise During 2021Progressions of the Sun last around 3 years, and your progressed Sun square natal Pluto is active throughout the period from your 2020 to 2022 birthdays, ... So, that progressed Sun's longing to be creative (Leo/5th) has been with you for some time now; will remain for at least the next two years and is urging/impelling natal Pluto to fulfil its 'promise'. ... However, progressions are only an internal influence/urge - so will not manifest as a (noticeable) event until activated by a transit. That transit will come from Uranus (in Taurus + natal 3rd house) ... from 13th May to 20th June 2021; 19th October to 8th December 2021 and 2nd March to 13th April 2020. And it will create an unexpected (but beneficial) change in your career direction and finances. Best wishes for the future, SL. IP: Logged |

First of all, thank you so much for doing this reading, Graham! I found it really interesting and unexpected to have Pluto as the focal point for career/finance for this year, as I've mostly seen it as bringing internal changes for the most part and being problematic, so this is a refreshing perspective. I resonate with what you said about troubleshooting. That's essentially what was activated in 2013 during my Jupiter Return when I decided to get an education. Even though I didn't know what I wanted to do yet, I had to take the prerequisite math courses and they "woke up" another side of me that I hadn't known before -- the problem-solving, observant, objective side. That term "troubleshooting" really fits into the context of what I've been learning since then, even and especially through some difficult times. I thought that the difficulties were only a distraction from my school/career path, but I've been realizing that they fit in perfectly and you've given the confirmation of that. IP: Logged |

Interesting.. maybe the Sun square Pluto is the reason that I've felt that my creative urge has been in conflict with the more calculating and logical side of me for a few years now.
I've been wanting to finish my degree whether or not I end up using it in my career, but I've sensed that I haven't really found *that* thing that will really make use of my potential. And it makes sense that Pluto is a main factor here because it symbolizes potential and it makes sense that Uranus would draw it out, because Uranus rules my ascendant and North Node, so to me this opposition aspect feels like a balancing act will finally happen between the intellectual and creative parts of myself. These two opposing forces in me will finally be forced to find a balance and create the combination that I've been looking for to lead me to the career that I'll find fulfillment in. This has been very helpful. I'm curious to see how the Saturn Return has played into this. IP: Logged |

How Does The Saturn Return Play Into This?ALL Return Charts are the "connecting dots" which light up the path from where we are "coming from" (Natal Chart) to where the soul intends us to "go to" (Uranus Return Chart) by the end of our current incarnation. Thus, the Saturn Return provides our "Saturn Curriculum" for its next 30 years period of activity. ... And, this is your current Saturn Return Chart :- So ... think of this chart as being that of the "born-again" you, for the current 30 years period of your life. ... And then, let's look again at what is being "promised" for your career.
The MC/10th house cusp is Leo, ruled by Sun in Capricorn/3rd which is disposited/ruled by Saturn - and both planets are conjunct Pluto (the natal chart planet that is currently transforming you into a "trouble-shooter"). ... Your Moon is at the highest point in the chart - so, your "mothering qualities" will be what are most noticed by others. ... And that Moon is making an EXACT trine to Mars, ruler of your 6th house of paid work and in compassionate Pisces/5th house of "things we enjoy". On their own, each of these astrological indicators would be an asset in a career as a trouble-shooter in the workplace. BUT, all of them are actually combining (in a 90th harmonic triangle*) to produce "a whole that is greater than the sum of its individual parts". [* To explain this, you will need to be ok with calculating the midpoints of Sun-Pluto and the Sun-Saturn-Pluto ... but the maths in your electrical engineering course will have already taken you beyond that level. ... For your information though, I calculate the Sun-Pluto midpoint at 11Capricorn25 and the Sun-Saturn-Pluto midpoint at 11Capricorn06.] ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The 90th Harmonic Triangle in Your Saturn Return Chart Sun-Saturn-Pluto in Capricorn/3rd blend together at their 11Capricorn06 midpoint, from where the "work as one" to produce an authoritative (Capricorn+Saturn) communicator (Sun+3rd) of "things that others do not see" (Pluto). ... So, think of these three planets as being a single planet at 11Capricorn06 - whose qualities make you an authoritative communicator of problems/"trouble" that others do not see. The Moon in Cancer/9th house is "a caring mother figure, with 9th house high-principles and a willingness to travel". So, someone that will be known and respected by the many people whom she will encounter whilst moving around her workplace (as a trouble-shooter). Mars in Pisces has "compassion" when dealing with "things + people that are dear to her" (5th); is "inspired" by Neptune and understands (through Chiron) why "being fair is not the same as being just". ... So, someone who uses her heart to explore/understand/resolve problems (rather than only her head). ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************ However, to make the most effective use of these planets+chiron, you have to consciously engage/work-with the 90th harmonic aspects that connect them together. 90th harmonic (90H) aspects are multiples of 4 degrees around the whole of the 360 degree circle. (Thus, 360/4 = 90H). ... For example, in your Saturn Chart, Moon is exactly 120 degrees from Mars - which is 30/90ths of the 360 degree circle, so an exact 90th harmonic aspect. ... And that Moon is also 166 degrees + 16 arc minutes from the Sun-Saturn-Pluto midpoint at 11Capricorn06 - so, a "within-16-minutes-orb" 90th harmonic aspect. In your case then, the close orbs of the Moon's 90th harmonic aspects to Mars and the Sun-Saturn-Pluto midpoint will probably ensure that they manifest effectively without any conscious effort from you. ... So, put your conscious effort/focus upon the 90H connection of Mars-Chiron-Neptune to Sun-Saturn-Pluto. That connection is via the Sun-Saturn-Pluto and Mars-Neptune midpoints, respectively at 11Capricorn06 and 19Pisces22 ... so separated by 68 degrees 16 minutes ... thus, a 90H aspect - as it is within a 16-minutes-orb of 17/90ths of the 360 degree circle. In practice, that means Mars needs to be (consciously) inspired/encouraged by Neptune to use those blended skills/qualities of Sun-Saturn-Pluto. ... And that, of course, is because Mars in compassionate Pisces will baulk at the idea/thought of behaving in an authoritative/Capricorn way. Hence ... before you can successfully move into a trouble-shooting role ... you have to reconcile this internal conflict between Pisces Mars and Capricorn Sun-Saturn-Pluto. So ... how will you achieve that required reconciliation? ... (In other words, "what, for you, is the connection between acting with compassion for another yet still being tough-minded enough to tackle any-and-all organisational problems which he/she is causing?") Ok, I've spent some time thinking about your interpretation and how it applies to my internal conflicts.
Yes, there has been a belief on my part that to be able to take on a position of authority I have to become more aggressive. This relates to the way my childhood authority figures behaved, which I obviously internalized. It's been rare that I've encountered a compassionate authority who graciously holds firm boundaries, does and communicates what's necessary, and can clearly direct people while recognizing them as people with human needs and feelings. Maybe that's just a rare quality in general. I think my main task with this might be to seek out and attach myself to role models who exhibit these ideal qualities. Because for the most part, I feel that I generally do see things other people don't see, but have trouble feeling like I have the authority to say anything or have people see my perspective as valuable. So it seems like my work is to gain confidence in myself and my intuitive faculties as well as value myself and my work enough to hold boundaries. I think at the moment, being in school has been challenging for that very reason. I haven't been able to value my work enough to feel confident holding boundaries around it. I kept putting other people first, since that's my more intrinsic quality and right now I'm training the more ”problem-solving” and objective mentality. Thank you for the reading and I'll keep digesting it. IP: Logged |
