I can see there is possibly some kind of waiting period going on at the moment. Very Mercury rx vibes 😏 With Strength and Moon there might be some fogginess and fears associated with the process, and it requires being brave and strong not to let anxiety get the better of you. My impression is that yes, you'll return to your hometown, you know that you will. My instinctive read is that more than anything, you'll have to deal with old wounds and scatterings of memories that might be hard or unpleasant. Things in your hometown could be radically different, from people being gone or development changing old things you loved, which I highly understand.
