Hi Terri, Im new. I know nothing about astrology, but i really really want to learn...so im so excited about being here!!! My birth data is: October 23 1980, Camden, NSW, Australia, at 5:40am. So i think my sun is in Libra... everyone used to tell me to read both libra and scorpio signs as i am on the cusp, but i think with my birth time it is Libra, am i right? Think my moon is Aries? and that my Ascendant is Scorpio... which would not suprise me, as when i used to look at both Libra and Scorpio signs i felt i could have some scorpian traits. But im certain i am a libra!!! (which i proberly just demonstrated by having a mini debate with myself here!!! hehe) But im really not sure!!! If this is right then I am Sun-Air, Moon-Fire, Ascendant-Water. So what does that mean? I just wanna make sure i have this info right in the first class Thanx, Jax.

What element is your Sun Sign? Fire 2. How do you feel this element expresses it’s self in your daily life? Vibrant energy, enthusiasm, optimism, passion, temper, lask of patience, can take risks,,,n yes honesty and straight forwardness! 3. In terms of compatibility, signs are considered compatible if they belong to the same element. Do you agree or disagree? I have found compatibility with fire and earth signs.. 4. Have you seen this in your own life? Yes IP: Logged |

Ujala,Welcome to the course. I had so much fun lo those many years ago when I first started learning astrology. I wanted to tell you that if your ascendant is Capricorn, it is an Earth sign. Aries, Leo, Sagittarius are Fire Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn are Earth Gemini, Libra and Aquarius are Air Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces are Water This may explain why you get along with Fire and Earth signs Maria :Rainbow: IP: Logged |

hello everyone, here's my breakdown: SUN-gemini (air) ASC-aries (fire) MOON-capricorn (earth) MERCURY-cancer (water) VENUS-cancer (water) MARS-pisces (water) JUPITER-aquarius (air) SATURN-gemini (air) URANUS-libra (air) NEPTUNE-sagittarius (fire) PLUTO-libra (air) NORTH NODE-capricorn (earth) CHIRON-aries (fire)So i am primarily air.... but with three personal planets in water signs, i feel the effects of the water greatly.... "i feel" (need i say more)... not much fire, and i notice it physically...i need a bit more get up and go... same with the earth... i am rather scattered, i have a problem keeping up with my day to day chores, i am scattered a lot (literally) and i get lost in my thoughts and feelings.... interestingly enough, most of my friends are Aries, Leos, Capricorns and Geminis... i went through a faze of Libra boyfriends when i was younger...but for the last while if has been Capricorns who have captured my heart. (i have beautiful friends in all the signs and elements i guess, but i have mentioned the multiple numbers only) I am the product of a Water mother and Air Father... I don't know what to say about the compatibility thing.... my experience has been all over the board... i know i have a STRONG affinity with the above-mentioned signs. - by the way, THANKS for this course... to everyone involved.... i have wanted this for so many years, and am truly thrilled to be a part of it!!! Not only that... this is a Linda Goodman forum... it amazes me that my wish came true in this way... i read and re-read her books...and now here i am...i feel closer to her... *sigh* eriKa

Hi eriKa Thanks for your thoughts You reminded me of the fact that we all go through periods in our lives when we attract different signs to us.For me..... overall I tend to attract other Virgo's - but that's really women friends also a lot of Scorpio women friends. Re men - I tend to attract Aquarian's -which "on the face of it" is not the best match for me but interestingly enough they all have had Sagittarius Rising - so their Ascendant has always been conjunct my Sagittarius Moon... I'm a Virgo and my chart is mainly earth & fire. I only have one planet in water (Uranus) but an interesting thing about elements is that you also should look at the amount of natal planets you actually have in the natural element home. Using myself as an example. Although I only have one planet in water - the other planets in my natal chart are mostly in the 4th, 8th & 12th which are the natural water houses. So on first look at my chart, the lack of water jumps out...but on a closer look I have a strong water influence due to the planets I have in the natural water houses. Does that make sense? Hope so. Which houses are your natal planets in? Are they "loaded" in the houses of a particular element? It does add depth & insight to your chart. Not sure if you already know but the natural elements of the different houses are as follows.... Fire = 1st, 5th, 9th Earth = 2nd, 6th, 10th Air = 3rd, 7th, 11th Water = 4th, 8th, 12th Sue IP: Logged |

Hi there Sue, I don't know if i would say they are "loaded", but there is a greater emphasis on the air and water, i'll give it to you as i see it: moon(CAP)in the 9th(fire)house but VERY close to the 10th(earth), pluto(LIB)in the 6th(earth)house...and that's it for fire and earth.... THEN i have: sun and saturn(GEM)in the 3rd(air)house jupiter(AQU)in the 11th(air)house uranus(LIB)in the 7th(air)house AND mercury and venus(CAN)in the 4th(water)house mars(PIS)in the 12th(water)house neptune(SAG)in the 8th(water)house eriKaIP: Logged |

Hi eriKa Yes it's interesting isn't it when you break it down.So now I have a question for you..... The 4th, 8th, 12th houses are known as the psychic houses. How do you relate to that - if at all? Sue IP: Logged |

Hi, I've just started the course. I answered the discussion questions - hope its not too long, i'll break it down a bit.Pisces sun and asc. I have a lot of water, about the same amount of air and fire and no earth. In my daily life i am constantly trying to escape the battering of my sensitive water nature. I am extremely sensitive to sound, but most significantly am often overwhelmed around people as I can feel their every mood extrememly deeply. I need alot of space from abrasive, unhappy, angry or negative people. My family are most accustomed to my "escaping" from them. I am very emotional but not very comfortable with this aspect of myself and often hide by being 'mysterious' or pretending im extrememly unemotional (deceptive pisces sun). It will not surprise you that i have 3 planets (sun, venus, mercury) and asc in my 12th house. escapism and seclusion abounds! I have learned to listen to my intuition and just 'trust what i know' even though i may not be able to explain it. i am artistic and love beauty in all its forms. I love listening to people on a deeper level and in my element being understanding and sympathetic. As for compatibility with other signs i find water signs calming and easy to be around - 2 ex-boyfriends cancer. I find my shackles prickling constantly with fire signs - i find them harsh and too 'in my face'. a couple of aries ive know have been very concerned with their "image" to others - and ive found them fake. My parents are both fire - it has not been an easy upbringing for (over?)sensitive me.
The love of my life (to this point - we're not together now) was an aries, and although we had a lot of clashes and he exasperated me there was a lot of passion and a deep connection and emotional understanding - i always wonder if i'll find this again, and it doesnt really make sense to me astrologically. Maybe its an 'opposites attract' and a learning and growing exercise? I find earth signs yes dependable etc.. but also boring and materialistic. I had an unpleasant clash with a 'hard-jawed' aquarius at work. Kym IP: Logged |

psychic eh??!! ummmmmmm...no i'd say intuitive... very much a gut instinct person..... i've had some interesting dreams, and i saw a fairy zipping around my house twice, a couple of years ago.... there's been some profound spiritual experiences... stuff i can't explain. i practice reiki as well... and i am practicing communicating with nature (my dogs, trees, birds, bugs, etc) but i wouldn't say that i am psychic. have you experienced anything "psychic" as you mentioned you have many planets in the 4th, 8th ,and 12th houses? eriKa IP: Logged |

As I am new to this forum, I felt I would share my aspects, I seem to be a balance of air/fire/water primarily, but I do have one earth signSun - Gemini (air) Moon - Virgo (earth) Mercury - Gemini (air) Venus - Cancer (water) Mars - cusp of Leo and Virgo (fire/earth) Jupiter - Cancer (water) Saturn - Leo (fire) Uranus - Scorpio (water) Neptune - Sagittarius (fire) Pluto - Libra (air) Ascendant - Sagittarius (fire) so that gives me 3 fire, 3 water, 3 air and 1 earth and stuck between fire and earth which I guess means that I can fluctuate from 4 fire 3 air 3 water one earth to 3 fire 3 air 3 water and 2 earth, which I guess is a pretty good balance. hmmm, that would go a long way towards explaining why I seem to defy definition by any one aspect. I do not feel I have the difficulties that are usually acribed to being a gemini, I have little trouble with money. While I do not have vast sums, I always seem to have it when I need it and have never veered into debt. most interesting indeed IP: Logged |

Hi grayheart Which houses are your planets in? Are they mainly in the natural house of a particular element? That can give even more insight into your chart.eg: I only have one planet in a water sign (Uranus in Cancer)however the rest of my planets are mainly situated in the 4th, 8th & 12th houses which are the natural water houses. So even though my planets are not in an actual water sign they're in the house of a natural water sign. Hope that makes sense. Sue

hmm, hadn't thought of that, the houses are as follows Sun - seventh Moon - ninth Mercury - seventh Venus - eight Mars - ninth Jupiter - seventh Saturn - ninth Uranus - eleventh Neptune - first Pluto - tenthI do not know what elemental properties the houses have, but those are my planets houses.

The natural rulers of the houses are as follows:-1 Aries - Fire 2 Taurus - Earth 3 Gemini - Air 4 Cancer - Water 5 Sun - Fire 6 Virgo - Earth 7 Libra - Air 8 Scorpio - Water 9 Sagittarius - Fire 10 Capricorn - Earth 11 Aquarius - Air 12 Pisces - Water IP: Logged |

ok, so let me see...Sun - air + air Moon - earth + fire Mercury - air + air Venus - water + water Mars - fire/earth + fire Jupiter - water + air Saturn - fire + fire Uranus - water + air Neptune - fire + fire Pluto - air + earth Ascendant - fire + determines houses so does not have house element? ok, so I have these pairings: 2 air+air 1 water+water 2(3) Fire+fire 1(2) earth+fire 2 water+air 1 air+earth with the two in parenthesis being affected by Mars being on the cusp between signs and so that element is subject to change this seems to say that fire and air are very strong, water is strong but not so much as fire and air, and earth is only a weak showing. also, I am still very new to this, but I am assumeing that pairs of same elements are stronger concentrations of that element, but as for pairings of dissimilar elements, I do not know how that works yet, although I am feeling that air and water go well together and earth and fire go well together. I would assume that fire and water would be opposite and cancel each other for the most part, though at times they would cooperate, and based on the balance aspect of things, this would lead me to believe the same about air and earth, and so it would seem to me that I have only one semi strong earth element as one is in effect canceled most times by air.Am I right about this? oooh, another thought, maybe I am looking at the pairings wrong. Maybe I should be looking at the ruler of the houses and treat the houses as a means to determing what planets are working together to see the pairings, let me see, that would meanSun, Mercury, and Jupiter and in house of Libra for trinity of air Moon, Mars, and Saturn are in house of Sagitarius for a trinity of fire Venus in house of Scorpio for water Uranus in house of Aquarius for air Neptune in house of Aries for fire Pluto in house of Capricorn for earth which would mean that at least one indepentent planet in each element, plus two teams of three one for fire and one for air. which would clearly indicate the fire air dominance. I do not know which of these is more correct, perhaps they are both correct. hmmm, this has given me something to meditate on. It seems I have much to meditate on what with this and everything else that is happening right now. I really don't know how I manage it all. IP: Logged | |
