I'm a Taurus Rising...people generally either think I'm friendlier/less critical than the average Virgo, or that I'm much more stubborn/headstrong than a Virgo.

rising Sag, sun Cancer, moon Capricorn

i have always been a typical cancer...with the extreme sensitivity, moodiness, insecurities...so on..
but only in the last couple of years have i really come out of my shell...now i love to talk...but i get upset when someone would say I talk alot cos i enjoy being calm and mysterious

i see the sag in me cos i am never down for long and im highly philosophical...i love to travel and meet people and find out about their lives, who they know, the way their mind works...

im pretty much an idealist bent on a perfect world but can see and accept the reality of it.

i dont see the moon in cap in me at all...i do want security and my family mean a lot lot to me, but thats a cancer trait too, right?

i dont think anyone in my life really has any idea how sensitive i really am....

i get confused about whether I want to be the cool mysterious one or the gregarious bubbly one...

ive kinda lost myself a bit really

i know i like to be quite but i have a lot of interesting things to share and i dont want to be a bore..

i guess its all about balance and finding out which works for you

hi all!
i'll jump right into this topic cuz it's quite interesting
i'm an aquarian with an aries asc...and my asc outshines my sun almost all of the time..
i find it hard to be detached about anything at all,and i am quite bossy..i've also got the aries hang-up about passionate jealousy unfortunately yes,i do seem to be more fire than air..although my sag moon might help in giving this impression

Thanks for the explaination lalalainda, I always wondered what role the ascendant plays.

I recently discovered I have a pisces ascendant 8.48 ~ which is a suprise to me because I had thought it was Scorpio (changed my birth time).

Does anyone have an extra insight to my new found ascendant please? Also not sure what 8.48 means?

If not now, I'm sure I'll learn soon!

------------------
Some of my astro makeup modified thanks to a change of birth time:
Sun ~ Sagittarius
Moon ~ Cancer
Ascendant ~ Pisces
Mercury ~ Sagittarius
Venus ~ Scorpio

I'm a Libra Rising, Scorpio Sun and Leo Moon. When I was younger, I used to try and outsmart everyone with my Libra rising. Other kids parents used to think I was such a "sweet" child but so so so very chatty. That combined with my moon AND sun made me a handful. I was such a power freak bully but when the kids would cry and tell their parents I'd butter em up with charm and weasel my way out of it. I was such a know-it-all you couldn't have told me anything because I already knew it. I learned how to manipulate my mom through charm and persuasion to get any toy, candy, or w/e I wanted. But regardless, I think that my moon dramatically overshadows my ascendant by like a billion..

I guess I used my ASC to help me make more friends as I got older because internally I was always much more solitary, and independent. It annoys me when my mom says that I'm a follower and cant do anything by myself (Libra ASC) because in reality, I don't WANT to do anything with anyone else...

You know, I'm not sure I agree with this entirely, because my ascendant is just as much me as my Sun is. Acctually my family would be more likely to identify with my Aqua rising side than people who don't know me. I do occasionally show Aqua traits to strangers, and I usually always dress weird, but I'm a fairly quiet person around people I don't know yet, more like my Virgo Sun.

I've got Leo rising with Sun in Gemini. I also have Saturn (in Virgo) in the 1st house which I heard means that I am viewed as a Capricorn by other people.... hmm... smells like split personality...

Well if you put it that way, in public I guess I use my cappy rising to "hide" my cancer sun. Im nothing in public like I am here in the forums. Strangers find me unnaproachable, but my friends know me better than that. Im a goof w/ my friends, and aloof w/ aquaintances (sp?). I like the color black better than pink (which is supposed to be a cancerian girl color-ughhh ). I actually don't even know why I even picked this screenname, must've been a random thing. Maybe I'll get rid of it.

My Virgo Rising seems to outshine everything else in my chart by far. Yay for Virgo, then?

Discussion topic:
Well, I have a pisces ascendant and seem so sweetie and dreamy but I have a scorpion sun sign and capricorn moon. I have Neptune dreams that seem consistent as ascendant and sun are trine. And, scorpion sun is sextile with capricorn moon. I have a double whammy with sextile and trine.

I am very passionate rather than fiery like a fire sign as I have scorpion sun but this is downplayed when we first met and I am not seen as a threat but I have been told that I have a powerful aura. Maybe, the double water signs in Pisces ascendant and sun in water scorpio the sun's passion is colored with pisces ascendant. But Pisces downplay their personal power as they have been on the reincarnation wheel many times. But, I dress like my Mars sign in Aquarius, rather than pisces ascendant feminine and sweetie innocence.

I don't think that the Rising sign rules only your outward appearance and how you come across to strangers because I display the characteristics of my Aquarius ascendant with my family and friends also along with my Virgo sun traits.

Linda said that the Ascendant forms your true inner nature upon which the motivations of your Sun Sign depend.

Although i could'nt comprehend it completely(if anyone has please tell me), but its clear from what she said that its more than just your outward appearance.

Yes, it's more than appearance.

I would say they work together. My ASC has a deep impact on me, much like my Sun.

Yeah.....I agree on that. I think the Sun, the Ascendant and the Moon work as a trinity because these three make up the basic nature of a person.

True! But my Moon and Sun are the same.

You are lucky Randall!
Your Sun, Moon and Ascendant are very compatible with each other.
My Sun and Ascendant are opposed and it sometimes leads to contradictions in my personality, like having an Aqua rising was'nt enough!...lol

It's like being pulled from two sides...

Aqua rising <--- ME ---> Virgo sun

and in your case PlutoSquared..

Aries sun <--- PS ---> Libra moon

Linda also had the same placements PS!
