There are scientific expeditions going on in some remote areas of Africa. Apparently, there have been many eyewitness accounts of modern-day versions of dinosaurs! In the People's Republic of Congo, a creature called mokele-mbembe by the locals resemble a large Apatosaurus (formerly called Brontosaurus). Pictures from our books were shown to local natives (who have no paleontology knowledge), and they say it is what roams the swamps. If we ever find these large creatures, it is likely that they are few in number (endangered). And if they exist, could there also be other types? Could there be a small island somewhere that isolated these creatures and allowed them to flourish (away from the rest of the world)?

I have heard these stories as well. Why not?

There was a bird called the Moa which was the largest bird in existence that lived in NZ. There were sightings as late as the 1890's down in Fiordland but the scientific community are of the belief these died out as long ago as 1500 through the indigenous people eating and using them for cloaks etc. Fiordland is a large uninhabited place so they could quite easily exist without people knowing.

:eek2: But then as mambo said, why not?
Very cool, and I hope they aren't hunted to extinction as soon as the poachers get word!A dinosaur head would be worth millions to collectors, and live one would be worth even more in a zoo,and dino-scientists would give anything to study one alive, and I hope the dinos don't eat anybody, and I want them to stay wild!!!

Interesting Randall
I've not heard about it. But I would think it has to be a serious possibility.

My only dinosaur sitings have been while watching Jurassic Park (nearly had a heart attack watching the Raptors in the kitchen scene ) and the Flintstones - ya gotta luv that Dino

Mind you they are still trying to find "Nessy" - The Loch Ness Monster up in Scotland.

Of course! Fools have the greatest minds of all, because they are too smart to give in to the oppressive demands of society in the mundane realm. The next time you see someone who looks "disadvantaged", try to think about what the experience of conscious life is like for them. You might be surprised.

Hey Spiritua
I totally agree with you.
Plus it's never good to "appear" to be too smart

That reminds me.....
Dolly Parton - very smart Capricorn but with a "dumb blonde" image....
Once said "I'm not dumb...and I'm not blonde either" or words to that effect

Because none are caught or able to be tracked down, I do suspect these dinosaurs may be traveling between dimensions. Only a handful are lucky enough to catch a glimpse.
