I know within each flower each blade of grass, each stone, a spirit dwells. Every touch of wind upon your face is a fairies sweet embrace. Fairies tend the waves and guide the Sun across the Sky. Every tree and every weed every bud and every seed has it's gardener elf (I 've seen one myself) All the powers that heal, All the songs of joy most every bit of love and pleasure . is born from Fairy care . and we do not own this Earth but the Fairies let us share FAERY DREAM PILLOW Cut out two squares of soft fabric approximately 6 inches square....velvet, velveteen or satin are preferred, sew around three sides of the squares with white or silver thread. Mix in an enamel bowl: Rose Petals (two parts) Lemon Balm (two parts) Clover (one part) Mint (one part) Lavender (one part ) Milkweed pod silky tassels (2 parts)
Turn the pillow inside out so that the seams don't show, stuff the pillow with your herb mixture. Sew up the end so that the herbs stay in the pillow. You can then decorate the pillow if you want with lace, silk, or embroider with designs, etc. Take this pillow to bed with you at night and put it under your pillow. This not only smells great but will help you to have dreams of the fey. NOTE: After six months these pillows may lose their "fresh" scent. You can reuse them by emptying out the old contents and refilling them with new herbs. ~author unknown FAIRY HERBS AND THEIR CHARMS~ this is supposed to be from a 17th century work * Bluebells * To attract faeries to dance in your garden. On Beltane eve, make an ankle braclet of "Bluebells" and "jingle" bells to attract helpful faery folk to you.
* Clover * A sacred faery plant, clovers of all kinds will attract them. Lay seven grains of wheat on a four-leafed clover to see the Faery. * Elderberry * Used to make Faery wine, these berries can be burned on a fire to invite the Good Folk to a gathering. Make a homemade brew of Elderberry Wine and you are sure to have some thirsty visitors. It is said that if a human drinks the wine, she will be able to see the Faery. If a human should drink Elderberry wine from the same goblet as a Faery being, he will be able to see them forever after. * Elecampagne * Also known as Elfswort. This root can be scattered around the home to attract the Sidhe. It can be added to any magick or spell to invoke Faery blessing. * Foxglove * The source of the modern heart drug Digitalis, Foxglove can have seriously dangerous results if taken internally. DO NOT INGEST!! Instead, plant Foxglove near your front door to invite the Faery in. Put a dried sprig of Foxglove in a talisman to keep you surrounded in Faery light. * Heather * Heather is said to ignite faery passions and open portals between their world and our own. Make an offering of Heather on "Beltane" eve to attract good faery to your garden * Lilac * The sweet scent is said to draw Faery spirits to your garden. Lilac and primroses for midsummers eve, will please the Faery. * Mistletoe * The most sacred herb of the Druids. Mistletoe is a magickal activator. In Faery spells, use a dash of Mistletoe taken on Summer Solstice to empower your workings with Faery magick. * Milkweed * Both Monarch butterflies and fairies like milkweed. If Milkweed is planted in a Witches garden, the fey will always be in the area. The silky tassels of the milkweed pods can be added to a dream pillow to not only make it softer but also to make you dream of fairies. In the Autumn when the pods are bursting and the fluffy seeds are flying across the fields, a wish is granted for each seed that can be caught and then released again. * Peony * Peony seeds were once used to protect children from faeries. A garland of the seeds were placed around the child's neck to keep them safe * Poppies * Said to invoke the faery into your dreams Make a dream pillow of fresh poppies to entice the faery to your dreams. * Primrose * When planted in a garden or hung dried on the front door, primroses will attract the company of Faeries. If you have them growing under your care, do not let them die! The Faery will be deeply offended by your carelessness. Primroses are great in container gardens. Tie a pink ribbon around your container of Primroses while chanting; "Sacred roses, hear my cry for your protection, this I tie" * Roses * Roses attract the Faery to a garden. Their sweet scent will lure elemental spirits to take up residence close by. Roses can be used in Faery love spells. When performing the spell, sprinkle rose petals under your feet and dance softly upon them while asking the Faery for their blessing on your magick. Roses are loved by the faery so you can plant Roses in your garden to attract fairies. Wild Roses are best for this purpose and you need to say the following spell as you plant your baby Rose bush: "I ask a fairy from the wild, To come and tend this wee rose-child. A babe of air she thrives today, Root her soul in the Goddesses' good clay. Fairies make this twig your bower, By your magic shall time see her flower!" * Thyme * Wearing thyme will increase your ability to see the Sidhe. Sprinkle it at the base of your door, and on window sills to invite the Faery to enter your home. All of the above were from..... http://www.solarraven.com/fairies.html Sue

Do you think only children "see" fairies? Children are supposed to be more "open". Apparently quite a lot of children can remember their past lives. Sue IP: Logged |

Hi Cat, I was just reading this thred and saw the last one you had wrote. I really don't want to off the topic of fairies but, I would LOVE it if I could raise my daughter with an open enough mind to be able to see her past lives or fairies or just to be able to keep the strong sense of knowing things that most babies have. Would you have any ideas on how to keep this alive? She is only 13 months and can hardly talk but I think it would be so nice if she were able to tell me things that she can remember. Im just wondering... Rue IP: Logged |

Hi Rue Well to be honest with you I don't know. I haven't looked at this in any depth, maybe someone else reading this has some thoughts that they could share with us?They do say "Show me a child at 7yrs of age and I'll show you the man (or woman)" I think there may well be a lot of truth in that. I'm very interested in psychology - although have never preofessionally studied it. The first years are the "informative years". Parents are said to be "the primary" influence. "The secondary influence" comes from school friends etc etc. As children we believe we can do anything But then we're taught "no we can't" This is why children are sooo much better at these computer games. Their imagination knows no boundaries. I remember many years ago, my ex's youngest child playing "Zelda" -totally amazing how easily she moved from "level to level" in this game. She found and looked for the hidden objects in the most bizzaire ways. But only "bizzaire" to an adult!! I'd say to her "Wow, how did you find that...she'd say..."easy, I just jumped here, did this, did that" etc etc I guess they just think outside of the box It's really difficult not to "put restrictions" (for want of a better word) on children. Some are obviously very necessary to prevent them from being hurt. As parents, yes you can try to keep their minds open but once they start to interact with other children that secondary influence can "kick in big time". It's human nature to want to "fit in". We don't like to be pointed at or teased for being different. So we give into "peer pressure". Children can be "cruel" to each other. They don't mean to be, they're just in there own way "trying to fit in with the crowd". They can "poke fun" or even "bully" another child who they see to be different...... A child who's overweight, wears glasses, is short or tall, who can't catch a ball...and so the list goes on. Someone sent this joke to me a while ago. A bit naughty but funny and in a way quite appropriate to what we're talking about...... A father asks his ten-year old son if he knows about the birds and the bees. "I don't want to know!" the child said, bursting into tears. Confused, the father asked his son what was wrong. "Oh dad," he sobbed, "at the age of six I got the 'there's no Santa' speech. At seven I got the 'there's no Easter bunny' speech. Then at 8 you hit me with the 'there's no tooth fairy'speech. If you're going to tell me now that grown-ups don't really have sex, I've got nothing left to live for!" Sue IP: Logged |

Cat,I'm Rue-asking your daughter if she sees fairies or what she remembers from "before" couldn't hurt, and if she's encouraged to be psychic and intuitive, her third eye won't ice over the way most people's do. Anyway, you already know all that Good luck!!------------------ "When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on"-Thomas Jefferson IP: Logged |

I do believe in faeries... they inhabit every flower in my gardens. I haven`t seen them but I`ve felt the brush of them in passing. Their scent at dusk waft around me when I`m out walking in the woods, especially the honeysuckle and iris faeries. An excellent book is "Enchantment of the Faerie Realm" by Ted Andrews. It`s an aid in learning to communicate with nature spirits & elementals. A must for beginners. loved the sites Cat! juniperb IP: Logged |

Hi Sue, I love that joke! You are right, we really do live in a paradigm and it's very hard to be able to leave it, forget trying to raise a child without living in one! And yes there is alot of social pressure, and to be honest I think she will deffenatley get her fare share, she has strawberry blonde hair, which nobody looks at as being nice until your older. So she will also have freckles and on top of that she is gonna be a very tall girl. So she'll physicly stand out, thank god she has a taurus rising and a capricorn moon! I am going to raise her with astrology and an open mind the best I can. And just maybe she will be more intuitive. Thanks alot, Juniperb... could you do mine please? My birthday is july.

Rue, if you`re cancer your Elemental & Archangel is: (water), Undines and Gabriel If you`re Leo (fire), Salamanders & Michael. The Water Elemental Undines are essential to awaking the gifts of empathy, healing & purification. The Fire Elementals work to maintain the spiritual body. A brief overview of the 2 elementals. juniperb IP: Logged |

I was thinking about insects and why they exist. I've come to the conclusion that they're are for the purposes of fairies. I believe that size means nothing to the Universe so I think they live in their own intelligent world inside the grass. The fairies must co-exist with them. -StarLover
