TRUE!!!!!!------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Lewis Carroll IP: Logged |

Death is not an ending, but a symbol of movement along the path upon which we are all traveling. As it may be painful to lose contact with the physical aspect of one we love, the spirit can never be lost. We have been and always will be a part of each other. -- John DenverOur dreams are firsthand creations, rather than residues of waking life. We have the capacity for infinite creativity; at least while dreaming, we partake of the power of the Spirit, the infinite Godhead that creates the cosmos. -- Jackie Gleason Recollection is the only paradise from which we cannot be turned out. -- Jean Paul Richter (1763-1825) IP: Logged |

Another movie quote:“So you failed. Alright. You really failed. You failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed, you failed. You think I care about that?... You want to be really great? Then have the courage to fail big and stick around. Make ‘em wonder why you’re still smiling. That’s true greatness to me.” ~ from Elizabethtown IP: Logged |

At night I would lie in bed and watch the show, how bees squeezed through the cracks of my bedroom wall and flew circles around the room, making that propeller sound, a high-pitched zzzzzz that hummed along my skin. I watched their wings shining like bits of chrome in the dark and felt the longing build in my chest. The way those bees flew, not even looking for a flower, just flying for the feel of the wind, split my heart down its seam. - The Secret Life of Bees (ch. 1) “No person is perfect… we need to let the puzzle of the human heart just be what it is.” “People, in general, would rather die than forgive. It’s that hard. If God said in plain language, ‘I’m giving you a choice, forgive or die,’ a lot of people would go ahead and order their coffin.” “I hadn’t been out to the hives before, so to start off she gave me a lesson in what she called “bee yard etiquette.” She reminded me that the world was really one big bee yard, and the same rules worked fine in both places: Don’t be afraid, as no life-loving bee wants to sting you. Still, don’t be an idiot; wear long sleeves and long pants. Don’t swat. Don’t even think about swatting. If you feel angry, whistle. Anger agitates, while whistling melts a bee’s temper. Act like you know what you’re doing, even if you don’t. Above all, send the bees love. Every little thing wants to be loved.” "We walked to the woods beside the pink house with her stories still pulled around our shoulders. I could feel them touching me in places like an actual shawl." "Cowardice asks the question, 'Is it safe?' Expediency asks the question, 'Is it politic?' Vanity asks the question, 'Is it popular?' But, conscience asks the question, 'Is it right?' And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because one's conscience tells one that it is right." ~ Martin Luther King Jr. IP: Logged |

I'm just dropping in to post this quote I found elsewhere, that I just love (sorry for posting so much, by the way)."Sometimes I feel discriminated against, but it does not make me angry. It merely astonishes me. How CAN any deny themselves the pleasure of my company? It's beyond me." ~ Zora Neale Hurston *edit. Another from Zora Neale: "There is no agony like bearing an untold story inside of you." And from the book Beloved by Toni Morrison: Then she did the magic: lifted Sethe's feet and legs and massaged them until she cried salt tears. "It's gonna hurt, now," said Amy. "Anything dead coming back to life hurts." (I found these quotes on the same weblog this morning) IP: Logged |

The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosives and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, prejudices, to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill, and suspicion can destroy. And a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own.~Rod Serling (Hi HSC! )

omg...I don't even have a quote to share right now, I'm just shocked! Well i guess it's not that incredible, but the second post in this thread quotes "Conversation with God" by Neale Donald Walsche and I was just searching the forums for a place to post a thread about that book.. to hopefully discuss it with everyone here. I just picked up the book yesterday and it's incredible.. anyone know where I could make a thread about this? thanks!! lovely quotes by the way. shirty IP: Logged |

"Creatures, I give you yourselves," said the strong, happy voice of Aslan. "I give you the woods, the fruits, the rivers. I give you the stars and I give you myself. The Dumb Beasts whom I have not chosen are yours also. Treat them gently and cherish them but do not go back to their ways lest you cease to be Talking Beasts. For out of them you were taken and into them you can return. Do not so."~C S Lewis, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (the book, of course) ------------------ `Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.' ~Lewis Carroll IP: Logged |
