"To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intellingent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - this is to have succeeded." Spake Jesus:Lay not up treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt and where thieves do not break through and steal: For whre your treasure is, there will be your heart also. twenty-third Psalm: "Lo, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil for thou art with me." No man alone is big enough to do anything. There is no such thing as failure unless it is accepted. There is no such thing as defeat unless it is accepted. There is no such thing as evil unless it is accepted. All choice is made in the mind, and all acceptance made by the spirit, and there are not billions of minds in the world at all, but only one, and it is in every one of us. And thought thy knees were never bent To heaven thy hourly prayers are sent And whether formed for good or ill Are registered and answered still. -Emerson To alter your life, the only single course open is to alter your thinking. ...all the things of this world must first appear as thoughts. ...the truth is that things are no more than images that represent our thoughts! It is a secret which every intellectual man quickly learns, that, beyond the energy of his possessed and conscious intellect, he is capable of a new energy (as of an intellect doubled on itself), by abandonment to the nature of things; that, beside his privacy of power as an individual man, there is a great public power, on which he can draw, by unlocking, at all risks, his human doors, and suffering the ethereal tides to roll and circulate through him: then he is caught up into the life of the Universe, his speech is thunder, his thought is law, and his words are universally intelligible as the plants and animals. The poet knows that he speaks adequately, then, only when he speaks somewhat wildly, or, "with the flower of the mind;" not with the intellect, used as an organ, but with the intellect released from all service, and suffered to take its direction from its celestial life; or, as the ancients were wont to express themselves, not with intellect alone, but with the intellect inebriated by nectar. As the traveller who has lost his way, throws his reins on his horse's neck, and trusts to the instinct of the animal to find his road, so must we do with the divine animal who carries us through this world. For if in any manner we can stimulate this instinct, new passages are opened for us into nature, the mind flows into and through things hardest and highest, and the metamorphosis is possible. This world will always have turmoil and trouble. What are you worried about? Go to the shelter of God, where the Masters have gone, and whence they are watching and helping the world. You shall have safety forever, not only for yourself, but for all those loved ones who have been entrusted to your care by our Lord and Father.True happiness, lasting happiness, lies only in God, "having whom no other gain is greater." * In Him is the only safety, the only shelter, the only escape from all our fears. You have no other security in the world, no other freedom. The only true freedom lies in God. So strive deeply to contact Him in meditation morning and night, as well as throughout the day in all work and duties you perform. Yoga teaches that where God is, there is no fear, no sorrow. The successful yogi can stand unshaken midst the crash of breaking worlds; he is secure in the realization: "Lord, where I am, there Thou must come." * Paraphrase of Bhagavad Gita VI:22 Dont be attacted to the passing dreams of life. Live for God and God alone. This is the way to have freedom and safety in the world. Outside of God there is no security; no matter where you go, delusion can attack you. Be free right now. Be a son of God now; realize you are His child, so that you may be rid of this dream of delusion forever. Meditate deeply and faithfully, and one day you will wake up in ecstasy with God and see how foolish it is that people think they are suffering. You and I and they are all pure Spirit. The grim march of world political events points inexorably to the truth that without spiritual vision, the people perish. Science, if not religion, has awakened in humanity a dim sense of the insecurity and even insubstantiality of all material things. Where indeed may man go now, if not to his Source and Origin, the Spirit within him? To be a true, unconditional friend, your love must be anchored in God's love. Your life with God is the inspiration behind true divine friendship with all. "Friends of other lives easily recognize one another in the astral world," {sri Yukteswar said} "Rejoicing at the immortality of friendship, they realize the indestructibility of love, often doubted at the time of the sad, delusive partings of earthly life." -Yogananda ------------------ “What you are comes to you”

"Whoever has God in mind, simply and solely God, in all things, such a man carries God within him into all his works and into all places, and God alone does all his works. He seeks nothing but God; nothing seems good to him but God. He becomes one with God in every thought. Just as no multiplicity can dissipate God, so nothing can dissipate this man or make him multiple."- Meister Eckhart IP: Logged |

You are most welcome.I couldn't help but express it. Your posts are so reassuring to me. Not only is it the messages within your quotes and articles, but the very idea that someone like you exists out there in this world that often shows us how troublesome it can be to find others with like feathers. I suppose the Father may have spread us out so that the world may be sown evenly. "When you look upon another human being and feel great love toward them, or when you contemplate beauty in nature and something within you responds deeply to it, close your eyes for a moment and feel the essence of that love or that beauty within you, inseparable from who you are, your true nature. The outer form is a temporary reflection of what you are within, in your essence. That is why love and beauty can never leave you, although all outer forms will."

You've made me feel brand new. It is very comforting to know others with like feathers are soaring around out there. Lot's of Love to you dear NosiS. "To wish for perfection for the loved one, and to feel pure joy in thinking of that soul, is divine love; and that is the love of true frienship." Paramahansa Yogananda “In almost everything that touches our everyday life on earth, God is pleased when we're pleased. He wills that we be as free as birds to soar and sing our maker's praise without anxiety.” A. W. Tozer IP: Logged |

I highly recommend A New Earth. I'm reading it through a second time and it's one of those books that really hits the mark, in my opinion. "When the eye finds nothing to see, that no-thingness is perceived as space. When the ear finds nothing to hear, that no-thingness is perceived as stillness. When the senses, which are designed to perceive form, meet an absence of form, the formless consciousness that lies behind perception and makes all perception, all experience, possible, is no longer obscured by form. When you contemplate the unfathomable depth of space or listen to the silence in the early hours just before sunrise, something within you resonates with it as if in recognition. You then sense the vast depth of space as your own depth, and you know that precious stillness that has no form to be more deeply who you are than any of the things that make up the content of your life. The Upanishads, the ancient scriptures of India, point to the same truth with these words: 'What cannot be seen with the eye, but that whereby the eye can see: know that alone to be Brahman the Spirit and not what people here adore. What cannot be heard with the hear but that whereby the ear can hear: know that alone to be Brahman the Spirit and not what people here adore.... What cannot be thought with the mind, but that whereby the mind can think: know that alone to be Brahman the Spirit and not what people here adore.'" IP: Logged |

He Knows! I'm hearing so much of the same Wisdom from him as in the material i'm reading now. Death is a stripping away of all that is not you. The secret of life is to "die before you die" --- and find that there is no death. The Power of Now Reincarnation doesn't help you if in your next incarnation you still don't know who you are. Stillness Speaks All the misery on the planet arises due to a personalized sense of "me" or "us." That covers up the essence of who you are. When you are unaware of that inner essence, in the end you always create misery. It's as simple as that. When you don't know who you are, you create a mind-made self as a substitute for your beautiful divine being and cling to that fearful and needy self. Protecting and enhancing that false sense of self then becomes your primary motivating force. Stillness Speaks http://peacefulrivers.homestead.com/EckhartTolle.html it! IP: Logged |

hah!I watched a lot of the videos from the site you posted, 26. It felt great to see Tolle from a visual perspective. Such a strange effect on me, too. I went to take a walk before sleeping and tried to get to that "stillness" as I walked. The exercise was more than I could've expected from a few thousand steps. Later that night I woke in the wee hours. When I woke I felt a roundness about my chest and Tolle's words seemed to vibrate all around. Not literally his words, per se, but the message behind them. I felt everything around me, as if I was connected to it, breathing and vibrant with life. In my memory everything seemed to have a greenish glow to it. It was such a strange, but inviting experience. Just wanted to share. Thanks for posting that site! IP: Logged |
