Right from the days Mars was getting visible on the telescopes, it was getting mysterious every day.In the 1920s Percival Lowell observed Mars for several years. His startling observation was the existence of canal like lines that could be the result of only an intelligent life. Yet the space observers who noted Mars subsequently found not the canals that Lowel saw and recorded in his journals. Soviet probes that tried to land on Mars failed. US successfully launced probes into the Mars, which sent us photographs of a rocky terrain with pink sky. There was no evidence for Life whatsoever. The most that could be expected could be microbes, the tests for their presence showed no conclusive results. Aside from scientific evidence, I would like to know the astrology based side of it - what do astrologers here believe I would like to know. How would astrology work in Mars, for example?

Hi Raj Astrology is a geocentric system - that is a system with the Earth placed at the centre. It's also a symbolic system - it does not always concern itself entirely with what is actually happening in the sky (what is out there astronomically speaking) but on a mixture of what we can see astronomically from our specific viewpoint on Earth and the symbolic way in which we interpret this. So in saying that..... astrology remains a geocentric system, even though we know that the Sun does not go round the Earth and that the solar system is actually heliocentric, or Sun centred. Ok back to your Mars question I think all of the above "principles" would need to be applied from a specific viewpoint on Mars. Hope that makes some sense Sue IP: Logged |

What does astrology think about Life on other planets? What would be a Mars-centric astrology? IP: Logged |

Hi Raj What does astrology think about Life on other planets? I've never researched but it's an interesting question. Randall, anyone, have you read anything re this? What would be a Mars-centric astrology? Again this is not something that I've considered. I would say it would be the same as I explained in my above post re the Earth. If you were living on Mars you would look at the astrology from the relationship of where the other planets where positioned around Mars. So making Mars the centre. Raj have you signed up for the Astrology Course? I think you'd find it very interesting. Greg is currently posting his lessons. I know he has looked into astronomy/astrology and I'm sure he would give you some serious food for thought. Sue
