This chapter Genesis says Serpent tempted Woman to tempt Man to eat Forbidden Fruit. This means Serpent did Original Sin. Yet everyone who reads Bible concludes Man did Original Sin.When Bible Storytellers told story those who understood it understood it wrongly. This mistake is going on for centuries right from 0 AD. That is for two thousand years. Bible freaks are still stupid even after two thousand years. Cat, as moderator of this forum you owe me explanation. Infact Linda explains lucidly in Gooberz first page quote:
In our obsession with Original Sin let us not forget our Original Innocence.
Never mind this only proves Man and/or Woman is innocent. Even then Cat you owe me explanation. Why was this mistake made?
Yet one entire religion namely Christianty is built upon this foolish concept called Original Sin and this foolishness is happening for two thousand years. Cat you can easily perceive monstrosity of this foolishness. Therefore you must explain. IP: Logged |

Raj, points well made - even though your words seem a BIT harsh.  I understand your frustration, I share it. I would not necessarily call Christians stupid, but we can agree that they are misled at the very least. They believe what they are taught, even if what they are taught is based upon misinterpreted information - and I think this applies to more than just Christians. Such is the state of the world ... Oh, and how does Cat owe an explanation? Did she create the "monstrosity of this foolishness"? How old ARE you Cat?  Peace to you Raj

Personally I think the priests were
just shifting the blame. Serpents are symbolic of wisdom and eternity, and of course the clergy wanted to discredit previous religions.------------------

I am a christian and my faith is based on my belief that God gave his only son for me. Yes I read the Bible amoung a great many other books and I take offence in being called a bible stupid head or let me just copy what you wrote "Bible freaks are still stupid even after two thousand years"
and here is another of your enlightened comments

Im sorry but you are mistaken if you speak with most christians and ask what it is based on they will tell you forgiveness and how very much we are loved by our creator. As a christian let me just jot down some of the " stupidity I have learned from the bible 1. Turn the other cheek in other words ( forgivness)
2. "Love you neighbor as you love yourself"
3. "Judge not, that you be not judged.
4.If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also
5.And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two
6.Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.
7.You have heard that it was said, "You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'
But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; ( hmm I wonder if everyone acted this way ... we probably wouldnt have so many people with bad karma )
8. ( this one sounds to me a bit like the money mystique which does in fact work in order to receive you must give ) Well I could go on for ever as far as Im concerned that "stupid Bible"has alot of truth and wisdom and on a final note jesus was the one who said "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. While you're at it, Cat, can you please explain why all religions have dogmas, inconsistencies, and typos in their holy writings? And a brief overview of Quantum Physics and Chaos Theory too if you've got a minute. If Jesus is "only son of God" then who are other millions of fellow men and women on earth? Meaning "Except Jesus all of us are **** " Besides following one foolish religion you have fooled yours-elf with such concepts. You have reinforced what I told about Christianity. You probably read all those misleading portions of Bible too much. <shrug>  <shrug> Direct contradiction with what Linda wrote in Star Signs.

Those who know the REAL truth and follow the righteous path mourn for your own "stupidity" Raj. For it is people like you, who use their own refusal to accept others as they are, that deny yourselves the wonderful feeling of loving others and being loved by others. Let those choose their own path to spirituality and rejoice in the fact that they have something of faith to hold onto in this wicked world. Rejoice, instead of belittling them. Rejoice instead of blaming and pointing fingers. Course, the Bible, AS WELL AS history itself, does point out to us, that Christians have been/are/and will continue to be, persecuted and martyred for our beliefs. But, as Mica explained, we follow the righteous road and still forgive people like yourself. For if you do not walk in the Light, then obviously, you know not what you do. Peace IP: Logged |

I feel that EVERYONE is entitled to his/her own beliefs and that WE should respect those choices.I think Raj needs to step back and watch what SPEWS forth in his words. Not everyone thinks alike nor believes alike and the bottom line is RESPECT!!!!! ------------------

I have to say that it is my tendency to defer drawing conclusions if I do not understand something fully. That method works well because I have found that when I explore things I realize that 1) It is much deeper than most people could have comprehended at first and 2) Almost Everything has it's valididty. You musn't be rash or you end up either putting your foot in your mouth or (if you have too much pride to do that) end up pretending to support an opinion that you now realize is premature and simplistic. In the reading of your post, I have come to the conclusion that you're words are a product of convoluted and simplistic logic. I am not insulting you, Never. I think that convoluted thinking is a result of being close-minded because when one is close-minded it simply means that for one reason or the other, one is not willing to recognise the possibilities and so their logic is based on a false reality.
But whatever your conclusions, don't insult hurfully the way you did, and with the kind of abandon that you demonstrated. You could be hurting others not just with your strong opinion that goes against everything that they believe but with your demonstrations of a complete lack of regard for another human being's feeling.
THAT sort of thing can only increase the dangerous and negative vibrations on this earth. -And that last sentence is straight(albeit paraphrased) from Linda Goodman in Star Signs. P.S. Raj, In direct reference to your confusion about the serpent being the only one guilty of original sin, The serpent initiated the sin but man is responsible for the part that he played in it. And I believe that the statement about forgeting original innocence was meant to indicate that man did sin but was also an innocent.
