Somewhere on here there was a critique of one of his pictures (time and the bending of light inside his machine) that proved it to be a hoax.------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." I'd love to know where they ship any/all profits from the sale of the book written by his family. Oh yeah, Randall, I've seen that hoax info re: his time machine on another site. IP: Logged |

It has been a while and I missed some of the posts, so let me just interject a few things, Starlover, while the phrase Weapons of Mass destruction was an interesting point in that it was not a popular phrase until bush, it has in fact been in use for a really long time. It is a term that has been used to describe any weapon capable of killing a very large number of people with a single use or causing very large amounts of damage to property. It has been used by the military to describe bombs, chemical weapons and such since almost world war II. So though it was not widely used it has been around.IP: Logged |

Also, just take a look at the reaction of people to this last election, have you seen the respons from the people who wanted to vote bush out? there are a lot of people out there who were so sure that he would be voted out, and are really surprised and dissapointed at the result, I know, I am one of them. I can't believe we elected the man, granted, the alternative was not all that much better, but it was something different. And change is always worth a shot. So, is a civil war starting now, no. But I can definately see the seeds of what could turn into one. Mind you, I happen to believe that Titor was a hoax, he put his own foot in his mouth once too many times with the whole I need a specific old PC, Computers are my thing, and I happen to know for a fact that you can read the older code with a newer machine, you may have to write an emulator, but you can do it. so his excuse for making the trip is complete bs. That having been said, I believe he was a hoax, but a very clever person able to see trends in politics and able to make fairly accurate predictions based on those trends, which makes what he said that much scarier, because he could be right. I just realized 2 years have passed if i write this post. It seems everyone has come with a conclusion that John Titor is a hoax, which i think makes people feel better.. I've been quite alarmed at the issues which he raised, moreover now it's 2005, we've proven the Official Olympics is still on... thanks guys, for ur detective abilities... IP: Logged |

Well, this is one of the most interesting threads I've read...and, it's a lot of reading Even if everything Titor says is absolutely true; he crossed from his timeline/alternate universe to ours. Just because in his timeline there is a US civil war starting in 2005 and a world war starting in 2015, that doesn't mean that will happen in this timeline/alternate universe. IP: Logged |

Oh we can time travel folks... see The Philadelphia Experiment which happened in the 1940's. What we can't do is interact once we get there...In a way it's a good thing we can't. Afterall, have you seen what a mess we've made of our own planet? We can't even control the effects of foreign animal and plant species invading other ecosystems via our planes, boats and trains, let alone changing the timeline. We've got alot of growing up to do first. The website www.wingmakers.com has an interesting time travel storyto tell, it's based on, the so called the Ancient Arrow Site. It theorizes that man must first develop certain neuropathways before timetravel interaction is possible. NIP: Logged |

Interesting idea. I've always taken the approach that we can alter the timeline at will, because it would just branch off into a parallel reality, without affecting the future timeline we originally left.------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Lewis Carroll IP: Logged |

In a sense, I think both our theories hold some truth to them. I've always been a strong believer in mind over matter and have proven it to myself many times and much to my amazement!!! I think there are many ways to time travel. Just as I think, there are many ways to alter or control your own genetic unfolding. I believe humanity has been caught up in a limiting cycle similar to the movie, "Groundhog Day". Due to the fact, that our technology develops at a much faster rate than our capacity to achieve what the Rosicrucians call harmlessness. NIP: Logged |
