Greetings...Happy Ostara. I think I'm actually going to attend an open circle in Salem, MA this evening. I just took a 4 night Witchcraft as a Science course from Laurie Cabot that mainly focused on using the Alpha brain wave level to get in touch with your magical nature. I met some interesting people, and was impressed by the energies I was anle to perceive in the room where the class was held. They also use that same room for ritual from time to time, and the energy was palpable and comfortable. I'm not sure that I'm going to go full-metal-wicca but I am intrigued to say the least. Blessings... A ------------------ "The ALL is MIND; the Universe is Mental." *** The Kybalion IP: Logged |

Aselzion ~ have fun if you decide to go to the open ritual. Your classes sound like they were great. I should do some of that out here now that my coven's disbanded.I'm sure there is an open ritual tonight at Raven's Flight but I'm in the moddle of a move AND it's Ostara AND it's my son's 5th birthday so I shouldn't even be online let alone wondering about a public ritual! lol IP: Logged |

Science and witchcraft? I would think those two are mutually exclusive. Interesting! ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Greetings...I did go to the open circle, and it was certainly more fun than any Catholic service I've ever attended. Randall... Witchcraft as a science teaches using Alpha level to access your magical state of consciousness, the springboard for creating magic and miracles. I had taken Silva Mind control many, many moons ago, but Laurie has put a different spin on the Alpha techniques. And introduced a concept that she calls "total health clearance" for clearing the aura after working on the psychic level, but it also has some positive physical ramifications as well. She is also an advocate of the 7 Hermetic Principles, which does seem to elevate the practice of magic to a science. But the science is only one aspect, she also goes on to cover the art and the religion, for those that wish to go in that direction. Let's also say, it was good to meet some people of a like mind... my solitary studies have been enlightening, but rather "cloistered" if you will. In the Light... A IP: Logged |
