Instead of being jealous and envious of others' happiness, I tend to enjoy my Blessings and remain grateful for what I have. The main cause of unhapiness is being focused on what we don't have and on instead what others have, when what we should be doing is seeing the Blessings right in front of our own face (i.e. grass at our own feet). It's not that people need to get a life (as is often quoted) so much that they should just focus on their life. By focusing on the lives of others, it indicates that their own lives are boring and uneventful, because if they focused on what's important, their own lives would be so good as to keep them too busy to envy others. That's what I try to live my life by. The wise saying of "The grass is always greener on the other side" uses sarcasm to drive home the point that the grass is actually NOT greener, that the cause of unhappiness is in ceasingly wanting what others have, which prevents one from seeing one's own Blessings. I don't even see a fence. The grass is as far as the eye can see--farther than I can ever travel--and all I see is vibrant green everywhere I look. The question I would pose for others is what does YOUR lawn look like? Stop and take a moment to look. If it's not a lush green, why not? Show it some love. Grass grows fast. What you think today creates what you experience tomorrow. Energy follows thought. Before long, you can be rolling around in a thick lawn like a happy puppy. Make your own yard as pretty as it can be, and you won't even think twice about anyone else's. IP: Logged
