I used to count my steps and make sure they were even so that both legs would have stepped equal times, in each room until I left into the next.I would also try to balance my turns so that if I did a 360 degree turn clockwise, I'd compensate by doing a 360 degree turn counterclockwise. If my mind didn't have the headroom to contemplate this, if I was playing sports at school or something for example, I wouldn't worry about it, but then when I was alone later I'd worry that I wound up in one direction many more times than the other. So I'd turn the other direction for a long time and never feel comfortable and get really mentally stressed about it. I still have problems with sidewalk cracks occasionally. But I generally mentally slap myself when that happens and try to ignore it. I get frustrated by anything arbitrary being accepted as standard. Consistency and harmony are correlative. But you can't just invent something ignorant of it's place in current existence and expect everything to follow suit. The earth and all things that harmony depend on need to be accounted for. I think my obsessive compulsive behavior is a manifestation of me trying to align myself as harmoniously as possible. I've come to accept that I don't know anything about the nature of geographical directions and obviously every room maintaining an individual mathematical sanctity is pretty absurd. But sidewalks are more easily identified as maligned. The Sidewalk's cracks were not moulded to align to your individual pace, and it doesn't feel right that such a standard thing is so inconsiderate of our nature. Sidewalks are such an encroachment on earth; they're everywhere, there's a huge sacrifice of resources both in the cement itself and the abandon of the earth beneath. And what do they do for us besides perpetuate this convoluted system not based on harmony at all? The subtle ignorance of harmony we notice in the sidewalk's cracks reflects the inharmonious nature of it's existence altogether. And yet it's all around us so we want to deny it, and do so by trying to pace ourselves with the sidewalk itself, compromising our truer nature, and further perpetuating disharmony with our truer nature. I guess that's what I believe right now, and I don't think it's much different from what I believed as a younger child. ------------------ Pisces Sun, Libra Moon, Scorpio Ascendant.. I think the reason for my super wild vivid imagination, was due to the lack of me asking questions. Snce i was a toddler, My parents used to shut me dow or shame me whenever I asked questions about anything I was curious about.especially my father. since then, I felt forced to keep my questions and curiosities to myself. Letting my mind run wild with the possiblities lol. Until life eventually presented me with the answers.

I thought that swallowing candy would kill me. Yes, that's not recommended, but it doesn't do anything. One time I swallowed a bit too fast and it just made my chest feel funny for an hour or so. Now I just laugh at that. IP: Logged |

What interesting ideas and experiences!!As a child, once when we had gone to visit a temple, after seeing the sleeping idol of Lord Vishnu i thought that HE was dead and so all people around were going to HIM to cry or say bye-bye and wondered what would we do, now that the GOD was dead. And i also wondered where did we come from. Then my father would go on explaining backwards like from parents, granadparents, earth, stars etc till darkness then i would pester him and ask then what was before that.
I also asked what was the purpose of our existence? He would be patient initially and then finally pack up and say that once i grew up i could find it out for myself. I pestered others too with these questions. As a child i was very curious and wondered about a lot of things and had a very active imagination. When i would fall ill, and would be on bed with fever i would imagine that the ceiling was the floor and the ceiling fan was a merry go round. The whole scene upside down. And i am sitting on the fan and enjoying a round. I would also imagine that i was running around all over the room BUT from the floor to wall then ceiling another wall and down. Phhewww!!! What Love&Light said about the statue in the temple was sooo cute!! {{hug}}Other answers were pure genius!! *heart* I grew up in the catholic church. Believed that Jesus jumps INTO the communion wafer when priest elevates it {during consecration}. Somehow, Jesus manages to also jump into all the additional small wafers. When the priest places communion wafer in the mouth of a congregant who was 'bad', I thought that Jesus jumps OUT of their wafer. They would be deprived of soul's food-nutrition that Sunday. There had even been talk that if you are bad and receive communion, then it can kill you! {Made me notice 'who' went to communion and who did not. If they didn't want to 'die', then they would avoid going up to receive. LOL } (music) "Gift of Finest Wheat" by Richard Proulx and the Cathedral Singers (With "lyrics") [4:32] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvPCjVWFXJw *~ The nuns and priest scared us away from even THINKING about the temptation to "look into" (through the doors) of a church that wasn't catholic. Thought that if I looked into a protestant or Jewish building, that 'lightning' could come out of the sky and HIT me! .. Later on as an adult in life, I made it a quest to visit many denominations over the years. I would commit to attend each for a solid year, including taking their membership classes to get the 'depths' of what and who they were. .. Even spent a year in a Messianic{Jewish} church. I went to a catholic grammar school. Had to walk a mile each day by myself, going, then coming back home. .. I used to think that IF I walked 'just a little further down the street' from where my school was, I'd encounter GIANT GIANT ANGELS who guarded the edge of the sky. If I wanted to reach heaven, all I had to do was walk in-between their legs, and I'd be "Home". {Reminds me of The Flammarion}. .. So one winter, when I was around 7 1/2 or 8 yrs old, I packed a little suitcase, and was heading out the door of my house. I decided that I was going to Heaven. I had had it with 'this' world!! {One of my parents stopped me. } (topic) Flammarion engraving! [0:26] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnNOYhGCGds OMG!!!! ^ .. chose that youtube to 'show' what the Flammarion looked like, and I saw that the person who did this animation included geometric figures, cubes, etc, floating through outer space on the other side of the edge of sky. . . I used to have DREAMS at night of being in outer-space, and ENCOUNTERING those kinds of geometric figures. Mine were painted white! IP: Logged |
